In 1 Kings 3:5, the LORD appears to Solomon in a dream, saying, "Ask for whatever you want Me to give you." I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there has never been anyone like you, nor will there ever be." In 1 Kings 8:30, Solomon petitions, "May You hear the supplication of Your servant and Your people Israel when they pray toward this place. May You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place.
