How Majestic Is Your Name!

לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ (For the one directing). עַֽל־ (According to) הַגִּתִּ֗ית (Gittith), מִזְמ֥וֹר (a Psalm) לְדָוִֽד׃ (of David).

1יְהוָ֤ה (O YHWH) אֲדֹנֵ֗ינוּ (our Lord),

מָֽה־ (how) אַדִּ֣יר (majestic) שִׁ֭מְךָ (is Your name) בְּכָל־ (in all) הָאָ֑רֶץ (the earth)—

אֲשֶׁ֥ר (who) תְּנָ֥ה (have set) ה֝וֹדְךָ֗ (Your splendor)

עַל־ (above) הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ (the heavens)!

2  מִפִּ֤י (From the mouth) עֽוֹלְלִ֨ים׀ (of infants) וְֽיֹנְקִים֮ (and sucklings)

יִסַּ֪דְתָּ֫ (You have established) עֹ֥ז (strength),

לְמַ֥עַן (on account) צוֹרְרֶ֑יךָ (of Your adversaries),

לְהַשְׁבִּ֥ית (to still) א֝וֹיֵ֗ב (the enemy) וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם׃ (and avenger).

3  כִּֽי־ (When) אֶרְאֶ֣ה (I see) שָׁ֭מֶיךָ (Your heavens),

מַעֲשֵׂ֣י (the works) אֶצְבְּעֹתֶ֑יךָ (of Your fingers),

יָרֵ֥חַ (the moon) וְ֝כוֹכָבִ֗ים (and the stars)

אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) כּוֹנָֽנְתָּה׃ (You have established)—

4  מָֽה־ (what) אֱנ֥וֹשׁ (is man) כִּֽי־ (that) תִזְכְּרֶ֑נּוּ (You should remember him),

וּבֶן־ (and the son) אָ֝דָ֗ם (of man), כִּ֣י (that) תִפְקְדֶֽנּוּ׃ (You would attend to him).

5  וַתְּחַסְּרֵ֣הוּ (And You made him lacking) מְּ֭עַט (a little) מֵאֱלֹהִ֑ים (from the angels),

וְכָב֖וֹד (and with glory) וְהָדָ֣ר (and honor) תְּעַטְּרֵֽהוּ׃ (You crowned him).

6  תַּ֭מְשִׁילֵהוּ (You made him to rule) בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣י (over the works) יָדֶ֑יךָ (of Your hands);

כֹּ֝ל (everything) שַׁ֣תָּה (You have placed) תַֽחַת־ (under) רַגְלָֽיו׃ (his feet):

7  צֹנֶ֣ה (Sheep) וַאֲלָפִ֣ים (and cattle) כֻּלָּ֑ם (all),

וְ֝גַ֗ם (and also) בַּהֲמ֥וֹת (the beasts) שָׂדָֽי׃ (of the field),

8  צִפּ֣וֹר (the birds) שָׁ֭מַיִם (of the heavens) וּדְגֵ֣י (and the fish) הַיָּ֑ם (of the sea),

עֹ֝בֵ֗ר (those passing) אָרְח֥וֹת (on the paths) יַמִּֽים׃ (of the seas).

9  יְהוָ֥ה (O YHWH) אֲדֹנֵ֑ינוּ (our Lord),

מָֽה־ (how) אַדִּ֥יר (majestic) שִׁ֝מְךָ֗ (is Your name) בְּכָל־ (in all) הָאָֽרֶץ׃ (the earth)!
