I Will Give Thanks to Yahweh

לַ֭מְנַצֵּחַ (For the one directing). עַלְמ֥וּת (According to Muth-), לַבֵּ֗ן (Labben). מִזְמ֥וֹר (A Psalm) לְדָוִֽד׃ (of David).

1אוֹדֶ֣ה (I will confess) יְ֭הוָה (YHWH) בְּכָל־ (with all) לִבִּ֑י (of my heart);

אֲ֝סַפְּרָ֗ה (I will recount) כָּל־ (all) נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ (Your wonders).

2  אֶשְׂמְחָ֣ה (I will be glad) וְאֶעֶלְצָ֣ה (and rejoice) בָ֑ךְ (in You);

אֲזַמְּרָ֖ה (I will sing praise) שִׁמְךָ֣ (to Your name), עֶלְיֽוֹן׃ (O Most High).

3  בְּשׁוּב־ (In turning) אוֹיְבַ֥י (my enemies) אָח֑וֹר (back),

יִכָּשְׁל֥וּ (they shall stumble) וְ֝יֹאבְד֗וּ (and shall perish) מִפָּנֶֽיךָ׃ (from Your face).

4  כִּֽי־ (For) עָ֭שִׂיתָ (You have done) מִשְׁפָּטִ֣י (my justice) וְדִינִ֑י (and my claim);

יָשַׁ֥בְתָּ (You have sat) לְ֝כִסֵּ֗א (on the throne) שׁוֹפֵ֥ט (judging) צֶֽדֶק׃ (with righteousness).

5  גָּעַ֣רְתָּ (You have rebuked) ג֭וֹיִם (the nations),

אִבַּ֣דְתָּ (You have destroyed) רָשָׁ֑ע (the wicked),

שְׁמָ֥ם (their name) מָ֝חִ֗יתָ (You have wiped out) לְעוֹלָ֥ם (forever) וָעֶֽד׃ (and ever).

6  הָֽאוֹיֵ֨ב׀ (The enemy), תַּ֥מּוּ (may they be finished) חֳרָב֗וֹת (in ruins) לָ֫נֶ֥צַח (forever);

וְעָרִ֥ים (and cities) נָתַ֑שְׁתָּ (You have uprooted),

אָבַ֖ד (let perish) זִכְרָ֣ם (their remembrance) הֵֽמָּה׃ (with them).

7  וַֽ֭יהוָה (And YHWH) לְעוֹלָ֣ם (forever) יֵשֵׁ֑ב (shall sit);

כּוֹנֵ֖ן (He has established) לַמִּשְׁפָּ֣ט (for the judgment) כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ (His throne).

8  וְה֗וּא (And He) יִשְׁפֹּֽט־ (will judge) תֵּבֵ֥ל (the world) בְּצֶ֑דֶק (in righteousness);

יָדִ֥ין (He shall make judgment) לְ֝אֻמִּ֗ים (for the peoples) בְּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ (in uprightness).

9  וִ֘יהִ֤י (And will be) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) מִשְׂגָּ֣ב (a secure height) לַדָּ֑ךְ (for the oppressed),

מִ֝שְׂגָּ֗ב (a secure height) לְעִתּ֥וֹת (in times of) בַּצָּרָֽה׃ (distress).

10  וְיִבְטְח֣וּ (And they will put their trust) בְ֭ךָ (in You) יוֹדְעֵ֣י (those knowing) שְׁמֶ֑ךָ (Your name),

כִּ֤י (for) לֹֽא־ (not) עָזַ֖בְתָּ (You have forsaken) דֹרְשֶׁ֣יךָ (those seeking You), יְהוָֽה׃ (O YHWH),

11  זַמְּר֗וּ (sing praise) לַ֭יהוָה (to YHWH), יֹשֵׁ֣ב (the One sitting) צִיּ֑וֹן (in Zion);

הַגִּ֥ידוּ (Declare) בָ֝עַמִּ֗ים (among the peoples) עֲלִֽילוֹתָֽיו׃ (His deeds).

12  כִּֽי־ (For) דֹרֵ֣שׁ (the One seeking out) דָּ֭מִים (the blood), אוֹתָ֣ם (them) זָכָ֑ר (remembers).

לֹֽא־ (Not) שָׁ֝כַ֗ח (does He forget) צַעֲקַ֥ת (the cry) עֲנִיִּים׃ (of the afflicted).

13  חָֽנְנֵ֬נִי (Show favor to me) יְהוָ֗ה (O YHWH);

רְאֵ֣ה (see) עָ֭נְיִי (my affliction) מִשֹּׂנְאָ֑י (from those hating me);

מְ֝רוֹמְמִ֗י (raise me high) מִשַּׁ֥עֲרֵי (from the gates) מָֽוֶת׃ (of death),

14  לְמַ֥עַן (so that) אֲסַפְּרָ֗ה (I may recount) כָּֽל־ (all) תְּהִלָּ֫תֶ֥יךָ (Your praises)

בְּשַֽׁעֲרֵ֥י (in the gates) בַת־ (of the daughter) צִיּ֑וֹן (of Zion);

אָ֝גִ֗ילָה (I will rejoice) בִּישׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃ (in Your salvation).

15  טָבְע֣וּ (Have sunk down) ג֭וֹיִם (the nations) בְּשַׁ֣חַת (into the pit) עָשׂ֑וּ (they have made);

בְּרֶֽשֶׁת־ (in the net) ז֥וּ (that) טָ֝מָ֗נוּ (they hid) נִלְכְּדָ֥ה (is caught) רַגְלָֽם׃ (their foot).

16  נ֤וֹדַ֨ע׀ (Is known) יְהוָה֮ (YHWH) מִשְׁפָּ֪ט (by the justice) עָ֫שָׂ֥ה (He has done);

בְּפֹ֣עַל (in the work) כַּ֭פָּיו (of his own hands) נוֹקֵ֣שׁ (is snared) רָשָׁ֑ע (the wicked one).

הִגָּי֥וֹן (Higgaion) סֶֽלָה׃ (Selah)

17  יָשׁ֣וּבוּ (shall return) רְשָׁעִ֣ים (the wicked) לִשְׁא֑וֹלָה (to Sheol),

כָּל־ (all) גּ֝וֹיִ֗ם (the nations) שְׁכֵחֵ֥י (forgetting) אֱלֹהִֽים׃ (God).

18  כִּ֤י (For) לֹ֣א (not) לָ֭נֶצַח (forever) יִשָּׁכַ֣ח (will be forgotten) אֶבְי֑וֹן (the needy)—

תִּקְוַ֥ת (nor the hope) עֲנָוִים (of the poor) תֹּאבַ֥ד (perish) לָעַֽד׃ (to the end).

19  קוּמָ֣ה (Arise), יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), אַל־ (do not) יָעֹ֣ז (do let prevail) אֱנ֑וֹשׁ (man);

יִשָּׁפְט֥וּ (let them be judged) ג֝וֹיִ֗ם (the nations) עַל־ (before) פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ (Your face).

20  שִׁ֘יתָ֤ה (Put) יְהוָ֨ה׀ (O YHWH) מוֹרָ֗ה (fear)

לָ֫הֶ֥ם (on them), יֵדְע֥וּ (let know) גוֹיִ֑ם (the nations), אֱנ֖וֹשׁ (that mortal) הֵ֣מָּה (they are).
