ESV Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionKing James Bible
Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!1Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD, or declare all his praise?2Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?
Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!3Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.
Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people; help me when you save them,4Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.5That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.
Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness.6We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.7Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make known his mighty power.8Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry, and he led them through the deep as through a desert.9He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
So he saved them from the hand of the foe and redeemed them from the power of the enemy.10And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
And the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left.11And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.12Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel.13They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert;14But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
he gave them what they asked, but sent a wasting disease among them.15And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
When men in the camp were jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the LORD,16They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.
the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
Fire also broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.18And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped a metal image.19They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
They exchanged the glory of God for the image of an ox that eats grass.20Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,21They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;
wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.22Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.
Therefore he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to turn away his wrath from destroying them.23Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
Then they despised the pleasant land, having no faith in his promise.24Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
They murmured in their tents, and did not obey the voice of the LORD.25But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.
Therefore he raised his hand and swore to them that he would make them fall in the wilderness,26Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
and would make their offspring fall among the nations, scattering them among the lands.27To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
Then they yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor, and ate sacrifices offered to the dead;28They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
they provoked the LORD to anger with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.29Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.
Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was stayed.30Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.
And that was counted to him as righteousness from generation to generation forever.31And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.
They angered him at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses on their account,32They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
for they made his spirit bitter, and he spoke rashly with his lips.33Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
They did not destroy the peoples, as the LORD commanded them,34They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
but they mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did.35But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
They served their idols, which became a snare to them.36And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons;37Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood.38And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds.39Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.
Then the anger of the LORD was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage;40Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
he gave them into the hand of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them.41And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their power.42Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their purposes and were brought low through their iniquity.43Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress, when he heard their cry.44Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
For their sake he remembered his covenant, and relented according to the abundance of his steadfast love.45And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
He caused them to be pitied by all those who held them captive.46He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.47Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the LORD!48Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
