NLT Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew International Version
Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.1Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.2Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD.3Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.4Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given,5Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
you children of his servant Abraham, you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones.6you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
He is the LORD our God. His justice is seen throughout the land.7He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
He always stands by his covenant— the commitment he made to a thousand generations.8He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac.9the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant:10He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
“I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.”11"To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit."
He said this when they were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan.12When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it,
They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.13they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
Yet he did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf:14He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:
“Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.”15"Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm."
He called for a famine on the land of Canaan, cutting off its food supply.16He called down famine on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food;
Then he sent someone to Egypt ahead of them— Joseph, who was sold as a slave.17and he sent a man before them-- Joseph, sold as a slave.
They bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar.18They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons,
Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the LORD tested Joseph’s character.19till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the LORD proved him true.
Then Pharaoh sent for him and set him free; the ruler of the nation opened his prison door.20The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples set him free.
Joseph was put in charge of all the king’s household; he became ruler over all the king’s possessions.21He made him master of his household, ruler over all he possessed,
He could instruct the king’s aides as he pleased and teach the king’s advisers.22to instruct his princes as he pleased and teach his elders wisdom.
Then Israel arrived in Egypt; Jacob lived as a foreigner in the land of Ham.23Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob resided as a foreigner in the land of Ham.
And the LORD multiplied the people of Israel until they became too mighty for their enemies.24The LORD made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous for their foes,
Then he turned the Egyptians against the Israelites, and they plotted against the LORD’s servants.25whose hearts he turned to hate his people, to conspire against his servants.
But the LORD sent his servant Moses, along with Aaron, whom he had chosen.26He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.
They performed miraculous signs among the Egyptians, and wonders in the land of Ham.27They performed his signs among them, his wonders in the land of Ham.
The LORD blanketed Egypt in darkness, for they had defied his commands to let his people go.28He sent darkness and made the land dark-- for had they not rebelled against his words?
He turned their water into blood, poisoning all the fish.29He turned their waters into blood, causing their fish to die.
Then frogs overran the land and even invaded the king’s bedrooms.30Their land teemed with frogs, which went up into the bedrooms of their rulers.
When the LORD spoke, flies descended on the Egyptians, and gnats swarmed across Egypt.31He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country.
He sent them hail instead of rain, and lightning flashed over the land.32He turned their rain into hail, with lightning throughout their land;
He ruined their grapevines and fig trees and shattered all the trees.33he struck down their vines and fig trees and shattered the trees of their country.
He spoke, and hordes of locusts came— young locusts beyond number.34He spoke, and the locusts came, grasshoppers without number;
They ate up everything green in the land, destroying all the crops in their fields.35they ate up every green thing in their land, ate up the produce of their soil.
Then he killed the oldest son in each Egyptian home, the pride and joy of each family.36Then he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their manhood.
The LORD brought his people out of Egypt, loaded with silver and gold; and not one among the tribes of Israel even stumbled.37He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold, and from among their tribes no one faltered.
Egypt was glad when they were gone, for they feared them greatly.38Egypt was glad when they left, because dread of Israel had fallen on them.
The LORD spread a cloud above them as a covering and gave them a great fire to light the darkness.39He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night.
They asked for meat, and he sent them quail; he satisfied their hunger with manna—bread from heaven.40They asked, and he brought them quail; he fed them well with the bread of heaven.
He split open a rock, and water gushed out to form a river through the dry wasteland.41He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert.
For he remembered his sacred promise to his servant Abraham.42For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham.
So he brought his people out of Egypt with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing.43He brought out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy;
He gave his people the lands of pagan nations, and they harvested crops that others had planted.44he gave them the lands of the nations, and they fell heir to what others had toiled for--
All this happened so they would follow his decrees and obey his instructions. Praise the LORD!45that they might keep his precepts and observe his laws. Praise the LORD.
