Now
when
Sanballat

that
we

he was furious

He ridiculed
the Jews
But it came to pass, that when Sanballat

he was wroth,
and took great
indignation,
and mocked
the Jews.

Will they offer sacrifices?

And he spake
before

and said,

Then Tobiah
the Ammonite,
who was beside him,
said,
“If
even

it would break down

Now Tobiah

When
Sanballat
and Tobiah,
together with the Arabs,
Ammonites,
and Ashdodites,
heard
that
the repair
to the walls
of Jerusalem
was progressing
and that
the gaps
were being closed,
they were furious,
But it came to pass, [that] when Sanballat,
and Tobiah,
and the Arabians,
and the Ammonites,
and the Ashdodites,
heard
that the walls
of Jerusalem
were made up,
[and] that the breaches
began
to be stopped,
then they were very
wroth,

and all of them
conspired
to come
and fight
against Jerusalem
and create

And conspired
all of them together
to come
[and] to fight
against Jerusalem,
and to hinder
it.

So we prayed

Nevertheless we made our prayer

and set
a watch

because
of them.

Meanwhile, the people of Judah
said:
“The strength
of the laborer
fails,
and there is so much
rubble
that we
will never
be able
to rebuild
the wall.”
And Judah
said,
The strength
of the bearers of burdens
is decayed,
and [there is] much
rubbish;
so that we are not able
to build
the wall.

And our enemies
said,
“Before

we will come

kill them,
and put an end
to the work.”
And our adversaries
said,
They shall not know,

till we come

among
them, and slay
them, and cause the work
to cease.

At that time
the Jews

nearby
came
and told
us
ten
times over,
“Wherever
you turn,
they will attack us.”
And it came to pass, that when the Jews
which dwelt
by them
came,
they said
unto us ten
times,

After I had made an inspection,
I stood up

Remember
the Lord,
who is great

And I looked,

Be not ye afraid

that we returned

every one

The officers

And I said
unto the nobles,
