Future Glory for Zion

1  ק֥וּמִי (Arise), א֖וֹרִי (shine); כִּ֣י (for) בָ֣א (has come), אוֹרֵ֑ךְ (your light)

וּכְב֥וֹד (and the glory) יְהוָ֖ה (of YHWH) עָלַ֥יִךְ (upon you) זָרָֽח׃ (has risen).

2  כִּֽי־ (For), הִנֵּ֤ה (behold), הַחֹ֙שֶׁךְ֙ (the darkness) יְכַסֶּה־ (may cover) אֶ֔רֶץ (the earth),

וַעֲרָפֶ֖ל (and deep darkness) לְאֻמִּ֑ים (the peoples);

וְעָלַ֙יִךְ֙ (and over you) יִזְרַ֣ח (will rise) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH)

וּכְבוֹד֖וֹ (and His glory) עָלַ֥יִךְ (over you) יֵרָאֶֽה׃ (will be seen).

3  וְהָלְכ֥וּ (And will come) גוֹיִ֖ם (nations) לְאוֹרֵ֑ךְ (to your light),

וּמְלָכִ֖ים (and kings) לְנֹ֥גַהּ (to the brightness) זַרְחֵֽךְ׃ (of your dawning).

4  שְׂאִֽי־ (Lift up) סָבִ֤יב (all around), עֵינַ֙יִךְ֙ (your eyes) וּרְאִ֔י (and see);

כֻּלָּ֖ם (they all) נִקְבְּצ֣וּ (gather), בָֽאוּ־ (they have come) לָ֑ךְ (to you)

בָּנַ֙יִךְ֙ (Your sons) מֵרָח֣וֹק (from afar), יָבֹ֔אוּ (come)

וּבְנֹתַ֖יִךְ (and your daughters) עַל־ (on) צַ֥ד (the side) תֵּאָמַֽנָה׃ (are supported).

5  אָ֤ז (Then) תִּרְאִי֙ (you will look), וְנָהַ֔רְתְּ (and be radiant),

וּפָחַ֥ד (and will tremble), וְרָחַ֖ב (and be enlarged); לְבָבֵ֑ךְ (your heart)

כִּֽי־ (when) יֵהָפֵ֤ךְ (is turned over) עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ (to you) הֲמ֣וֹן (the abundance) יָ֔ם (of the sea)

חֵ֥יל (the wealth) גּוֹיִ֖ם (of the nations) יָבֹ֥אוּ (will come) לָֽךְ׃ (to you).

6  שִֽׁפְעַ֨ת (A multitude) גְּמַלִּ֜ים (of camels) תְּכַסֵּ֗ךְ (will cover you)

בִּכְרֵ֤י (young camels) מִדְיָן֙ (of Midian) וְעֵיפָ֔ה (and Ephah);

כֻּלָּ֖ם (all those) מִשְּׁבָ֣א (from Sheba) יָבֹ֑אוּ (will come);

זָהָ֤ב (gold) וּלְבוֹנָה֙ (and incense); יִשָּׂ֔אוּ (they will bring)

וּתְהִלֹּ֥ת (and the praises) יְהוָ֖ה (of YHWH) יְבַשֵּֽׂרוּ׃ (they will proclaim).

7  כָּל־ (All) צֹ֤אן (the flock) קֵדָר֙ (of Kedar) יִקָּ֣בְצוּ (will be gathered) לָ֔ךְ (to you)

אֵילֵ֥י (the rams) נְבָי֖וֹת (of Nebajoth) יְשָׁרְת֑וּנֶךְ (will serve you)

יַעֲל֤וּ (they will ascend) עַל־ (with) רָצוֹן֙ (acceptance) מִזְבְּחִ֔י (on My altar),

וּבֵ֥ית (and the house) תִּפְאַרְתִּ֖י (of My beauty) אֲפָאֵֽר׃ (I will glorify).

8  מִי־ (Who are) אֵ֖לֶּה (these) כָּעָ֣ב (like the cloud), תְּעוּפֶ֑ינָה (flying)

וְכַיּוֹנִ֖ים (and like the doves) אֶל־ (to) אֲרֻבֹּתֵיהֶֽם׃ (their windows)?

9  כִּֽי־ (Surely) לִ֣י׀ (for Me) אִיִּ֣ים (the islands) יְקַוּ֗וּ (are waiting)

וָאֳנִיּ֤וֹת (and with the ships) תַּרְשִׁישׁ֙ (of Tarshish) בָּרִ֣אשֹׁנָ֔ה (first in line),

לְהָבִ֤יא (to bring) בָנַ֙יִךְ֙ (your sons) מֵֽרָח֔וֹק (from afar),

כַּסְפָּ֥ם (their silver) וּזְהָבָ֖ם (and their gold) אִתָּ֑ם (with them)

לְשֵׁם֙ (for the name) יְהוָ֣ה (of YHWH) אֱלֹהַ֔יִךְ (your God),

וְלִקְד֥וֹשׁ (and for the Holy One) יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (of Israel),

כִּ֥י (because) פֵאֲרָֽךְ׃ (He has glorified you).

10  וּבָנ֤וּ (And will rebuild) בְנֵֽי־ (the sons) נֵכָר֙ (of foreigners) חֹמֹתַ֔יִךְ (your walls),

וּמַלְכֵיהֶ֖ם (and their kings) יְשָׁרְת֑וּנֶךְ (will serve you)

כִּ֤י (for) בְקִצְפִּי֙ (in My wrath) הִכִּיתִ֔יךְ (I struck you)

וּבִרְצוֹנִ֖י (and in My favor) רִֽחַמְתִּֽיךְ׃ (I have compassion on you).

11  וּפִתְּח֨וּ (And will be open) שְׁעָרַ֧יִךְ (your gates) תָּמִ֛יד (continually);

יוֹמָ֥ם (day) וָלַ֖יְלָה (and night); לֹ֣א (not) יִסָּגֵ֑רוּ (will they be shut)

לְהָבִ֤יא (for the bringing) אֵלַ֙יִךְ֙ (to you) חֵ֣יל (the wealth) גּוֹיִ֔ם (of the nations),

וּמַלְכֵיהֶ֖ם (and their kings) נְהוּגִֽים׃ (being led in procession).

12  כִּֽי־ (For) הַגּ֧וֹי (the nation) וְהַמַּמְלָכָ֛ה (and the kingdom) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) לֹא־ (not) יַעַבְד֖וּךְ (will serve you) יֹאבֵ֑דוּ (will perish);

וְהַגּוֹיִ֖ם (and the nations) חָרֹ֥ב (being destroyed) יֶחֱרָֽבוּ׃ (will be destroyed).

13  כְּב֤וֹד (The glory) הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ (of Lebanon) אֵלַ֣יִךְ (to you) יָב֔וֹא (will come)

בְּר֛וֹשׁ (the cypress), תִּדְהָ֥ר (elm), וּתְאַשּׁ֖וּר (and boxwood) יַחְדָּ֑ו (together),

לְפָאֵר֙ (to beautify) מְק֣וֹם (the place) מִקְדָּשִׁ֔י (of My sanctuary);

וּמְק֥וֹם (the place) רַגְלַ֖י (of My feet) אֲכַבֵּֽד׃ (and I will glorify).

14  וְהָלְכ֨וּ (And they will come) אֵלַ֤יִךְ (to you) שְׁח֙וֹחַ֙ (bowing down)

בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) מְעַנַּ֔יִךְ (of those who afflicted you)

וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲו֛וּ (and they will bow low) עַל־ (at)

כַּפּ֥וֹת (the soles) רַגְלַ֖יִךְ (of your feet); כָּל־ (all) מְנַֽאֲצָ֑יִךְ (those who despised you)

וְקָ֤רְאוּ (and they will call) לָךְ֙ (you) עִ֣יר (the City) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH)

צִיּ֖וֹן (Zion) קְד֥וֹשׁ (of the Holy One) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (of Israel).

15  תַּ֧חַת (Instead) הֱיוֹתֵ֛ךְ (of your being) עֲזוּבָ֥ה (forsaken) וּשְׂנוּאָ֖ה (and hated),

וְאֵ֣ין (with no one) עוֹבֵ֑ר (passing through)

וְשַׂמְתִּיךְ֙ (then I will make you) לִגְא֣וֹן (to be an object of pride), עוֹלָ֔ם (forever)

מְשׂ֖וֹשׂ (a joy) דּ֥וֹר (to generation) וָדֽוֹר׃ (and generation).

16  וְיָנַקְתְּ֙ (And you will suck) חֲלֵ֣ב (the milk) גּוֹיִ֔ם (of nations),

וְשֹׁ֥ד (and the breast) מְלָכִ֖ים (of kings); תִּינָ֑קִי (you will suck)

וְיָדַ֗עַתְּ (and you will know) כִּ֣י (that) אֲנִ֤י (I am) יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) מֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֔ךְ (your Savior) וְגֹאֲלֵ֖ךְ (and your Redeemer),

אֲבִ֥יר (the Mighty One) יַעֲקֹֽב׃ (of Jacob).

17  תַּ֣חַת (In place) הַנְּחֹ֜שֶׁת (of bronze) אָבִ֣יא (I will bring) זָהָ֗ב (gold),

וְתַ֤חַת (and in place) הַבַּרְזֶל֙ (of iron) אָ֣בִיא (I will bring) כֶ֔סֶף (silver),

וְתַ֤חַת (and in place) הָֽעֵצִים֙ (of the wood) נְחֹ֔שֶׁת (bronze),

וְתַ֥חַת (and in place) הָאֲבָנִ֖ים (of the stones) בַּרְזֶ֑ל (iron).

וְשַׂמְתִּ֤י (I will appoint) פְקֻדָּתֵךְ֙ (as your governor) שָׁל֔וֹם (peace),

וְנֹגְשַׂ֖יִךְ (as your rulers) צְדָקָֽה׃ (and righteousness).

18  לֹא־ (Not) יִשָּׁמַ֨ע (will be heard) ע֤וֹד (any longer) חָמָס֙ (violence) בְּאַרְצֵ֔ךְ (in your land),

שֹׁ֥ד (devastation) וָשֶׁ֖בֶר (or destruction) בִּגְבוּלָ֑יִךְ (within your borders);

וְקָרָ֤את (and you will call) יְשׁוּעָה֙ (Salvation), חוֹמֹתַ֔יִךְ (your walls)

וּשְׁעָרַ֖יִךְ (and your gates) תְּהִלָּֽה׃ (Praise).

19  לֹא־ (No) יִֽהְיֶה־ (will be) לָּ֨ךְ (for you) ע֤וֹד (longer) הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ (the sun) לְא֣וֹר (as light) יוֹמָ֔ם (by day);

וּלְנֹ֕גַהּ (and for brightness) הַיָּרֵ֖חַ (the moon at night) לֹא־ (not) יָאִ֣יר (will shine) לָ֑ךְ (on you)

וְהָיָה־ (and will be) לָ֤ךְ (for you) יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) לְא֣וֹר (as a light), עוֹלָ֔ם (forever)

וֵאלֹהַ֖יִךְ (and your God) לְתִפְאַרְתֵּֽךְ׃ (as your glory).

20  לֹא־ (Not) יָב֥וֹא (will go down); עוֹד֙ (any longer) שִׁמְשֵׁ֔ךְ (your sun)

וִירֵחֵ֖ךְ (and your moon) לֹ֣א (not) יֵאָסֵ֑ף (will be gathered);

כִּ֣י (for) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH) יִֽהְיֶה־ (will be) לָּךְ֙ (for you) לְא֣וֹר (as a light), עוֹלָ֔ם (forever)

וְשָׁלְמ֖וּ (and will be ended) יְמֵ֥י (the days) אֶבְלֵֽךְ׃ (of your mourning).

21  וְעַמֵּךְ֙ (And your people) כֻּלָּ֣ם (all of them) צַדִּיקִ֔ים (will be righteous);

לְעוֹלָ֖ם (forever), יִ֣ירְשׁוּ (they will inherit) אָ֑רֶץ (the land)

נֵ֧צֶר (the branch) מַטָּעוֹ (of My planting),

מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה (the work) יָדַ֖י (of My hands),

לְהִתְפָּאֵֽר׃ (to My being glorified).

22  הַקָּטֹן֙ (The little one) יִֽהְיֶ֣ה (will become) לָאֶ֔לֶף (as a thousand),

וְהַצָּעִ֖יר (and the smallest) לְג֣וֹי (as a nation). עָצ֑וּם (Mighty)

אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH)

בְּעִתָּ֥הּ (and in its time) אֲחִישֶֽׁנָּה׃ס (I will hasten it).
