Psalm 61

You Have Heard My Vows

לַמְנַצֵּ֬חַ׀ (For the one directing). עַֽל־ (On) נְגִינַ֬ת (a stringed instrument). לְדָוִֽד׃ (Of David).

1שִׁמְעָ֣ה (Hear), אֱ֭לֹהִים (O God), רִנָּתִ֑י (my cry);

הַ֝קְשִׁ֗יבָה (attend to) תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃ (my prayer).

2  מִקְצֵ֤ה (From the end) הָאָ֨רֶץ׀ (of the earth) אֵלֶ֣יךָ (to You) אֶ֭קְרָא (I call out)

בַּעֲטֹ֣ף (in the feebleness) לִבִּ֑י (of my heart),

בְּצוּר־ (to the rock) יָר֖וּם (that is higher)

מִמֶּ֣נִּי (than I) תַנְחֵֽנִי׃ (may You lead me).

3  כִּֽי־ (For) הָיִ֣יתָ (You have been) מַחְסֶ֣ה (a place of refuge) לִ֑י (for me),

מִגְדַּל־ (a tower) עֹ֝֗ז (of strength) מִפְּנֵ֥י (against the face) אוֹיֵֽב׃ (of the enemy).

4  אָג֣וּרָה (Let me sojourn) בְ֭אָהָלְךָ (in Your Tent) עוֹלָמִ֑ים (forever);

אֶֽחֱסֶ֨ה (I will take refuge) בְסֵ֖תֶר (in the shelter) כְּנָפֶ֣יךָ (of Your wings).

סֶּֽלָה׃ (Selah)

5  כִּֽי־ (for) אַתָּ֣ה (You), אֱ֭לֹהִים (O God), שָׁמַ֣עְתָּ (have listend) לִנְדָרָ֑י (to my vows);

נָתַ֥תָּ (You have appointed) יְ֝רֻשַּׁ֗ת (the inheritance)

יִרְאֵ֥י (of those fearing) שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ (Your name).

6  יָמִ֣ים (Days) עַל־ (to) יְמֵי־ (the days) מֶ֣לֶךְ (of the king) תּוֹסִ֑יף (may You add)—

שְׁ֝נוֹתָ֗יו (may his years) כְּמוֹ־ (be as) דֹ֥ר (generation) וָדֹֽר׃ (and generation).

7  יֵשֵׁ֣ב (May he dwell) ע֭וֹלָם (forever) לִפְנֵ֣י (before) אֱלֹהִ֑ים (God);

חֶ֥סֶד (loving devotion) וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת (and faithfulness) מַ֣ן (may You appoint)

יִנְצְרֻֽהוּ׃ (to guard him).

8  כֵּ֤ן (So) אֲזַמְּרָ֣ה (I will sing praise) שִׁמְךָ֣ (to your name) לָעַ֑ד (forever),

לְֽשַׁלְּמִ֥י (that I may perform) נְדָרַ֗י (my vows) י֣וֹם׀ (day) יֽוֹם׃ (by day).
