| 1Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves. | 1But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves. |
| 2Each one of us must please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. | 2Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up. |
| 3For even the Messiah did not please Himself. On the contrary, as it is written, The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me. | 3For even Christ did not please himself, but just as it is written, "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me." |

| 21but, as it is written: Those who were not told about Him will see, and those who have not heard will understand. | 21but as it is written: "Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand." |

| 27Yes, they were pleased, and indeed are indebted to them. | 32and that, by God's will, I may come to you with joy and be refreshed together with you. | 32so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. |
