NET BibleNew International Version
Give thanks to the LORD! Call on his name! Make known his accomplishments among the nations! 1Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him! Make music to him! Tell about all his miraculous deeds! 2Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
Boast about his holy name! Let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! 3Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Seek the LORD and the strength he gives! Seek his presence continually! 4Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Recall the miraculous deeds he performed, his mighty acts and the judgments he decreed, 5Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
O children of Abraham, God's servant, you descendants of Jacob, God's chosen ones! 6you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
He is the LORD our God; he carries out judgment throughout the earth. 7He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
He always remembers his covenantal decree, the promise he made to a thousand generations--8He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
the promise he made to Abraham, the promise he made by oath to Isaac! 9the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
He gave it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as a lasting promise, 10He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance." 11"To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit."
When they were few in number, just a very few, and resident aliens within it, 12When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it,
they wandered from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another. 13they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
He let no one oppress them; he disciplined kings for their sake, 14He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:
saying, "Don't touch my chosen ones! Don't harm my prophets!" 15"Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm."
He called down a famine upon the earth; he cut off all the food supply. 16He called down famine on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food;
He sent a man ahead of them--Joseph was sold as a servant. 17and he sent a man before them-- Joseph, sold as a slave.
The shackles hurt his feet; his neck was placed in an iron collar, 18They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons,
until the time when his prediction came true. The LORD's word proved him right. 19till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the LORD proved him true.
The king authorized his release; the ruler of nations set him free. 20The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples set him free.
He put him in charge of his palace, and made him manager of all his property, 21He made him master of his household, ruler over all he possessed,
giving him authority to imprison his officials and to teach his advisers. 22to instruct his princes as he pleased and teach his elders wisdom.
Israel moved to Egypt; Jacob lived for a time in the land of Ham. 23Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob resided as a foreigner in the land of Ham.
The LORD made his people very fruitful, and made them more numerous than their enemies. 24The LORD made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous for their foes,
He caused them to hate his people, and to mistreat his servants. 25whose hearts he turned to hate his people, to conspire against his servants.
He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. 26He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.
They executed his miraculous signs among them, and his amazing deeds in the land of Ham. 27They performed his signs among them, his wonders in the land of Ham.
He made it dark; they did not disobey his orders. 28He sent darkness and made the land dark-- for had they not rebelled against his words?
He turned their water into blood, and killed their fish. 29He turned their waters into blood, causing their fish to die.
Their land was overrun by frogs, which even got into the rooms of their kings. 30Their land teemed with frogs, which went up into the bedrooms of their rulers.
He ordered flies to come; gnats invaded their whole territory. 31He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country.
He sent hail along with the rain; there was lightning in their land. 32He turned their rain into hail, with lightning throughout their land;
He destroyed their vines and fig trees, and broke the trees throughout their territory. 33he struck down their vines and fig trees and shattered the trees of their country.
He ordered locusts to come, innumerable grasshoppers. 34He spoke, and the locusts came, grasshoppers without number;
They ate all the vegetation in their land, and devoured the crops of their fields. 35they ate up every green thing in their land, ate up the produce of their soil.
He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of their reproductive power. 36Then he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their manhood.
He brought his people out enriched with silver and gold; none of his tribes stumbled. 37He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold, and from among their tribes no one faltered.
Egypt was happy when they left, for they were afraid of them. 38Egypt was glad when they left, because dread of Israel had fallen on them.
He spread out a cloud for a cover, and provided a fire to light up the night. 39He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night.
They asked for food, and he sent quails; he satisfied them with food from the sky. 40They asked, and he brought them quail; he fed them well with the bread of heaven.
He opened up a rock and water flowed out; a river ran through dry regions. 41He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert.
Yes, he remembered the sacred promise he made to Abraham his servant. 42For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham.
When he led his people out, they rejoiced; his chosen ones shouted with joy. 43He brought out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy;
He handed the territory of nations over to them, and they took possession of what other peoples had produced, 44he gave them the lands of the nations, and they fell heir to what others had toiled for--
so that they might keep his commands and obey his laws. Praise the LORD! 45that they might keep his precepts and observe his laws. Praise the LORD.
