The Lord's Prayer

(Matthew 6:5-15)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."1Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.”1It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples."1And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.1He was praying in a certain place, and when He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples."
2He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.2And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come.2And He said to them, "When you pray, say: 'Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.2And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.2He said to them, "Whenever you pray, say: Father, Your name be honored as holy. Your kingdom come.
3Give us each day our daily bread.3Give us each day our daily bread,3'Give us each day our daily bread.3Give us day by day our daily bread.3Give us each day our daily bread.
4Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.'"4and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”4'And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.'"4And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.4And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone in debt to us. And do not bring us into temptation."

Ask, Seek, Knock

(Matthew 7:7-12)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
5Then Jesus said to them, "Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread;5And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves,5Then He said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves;5And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;5He also said to them: "Suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him at midnight and says to him, Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.'6for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;6for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him';6For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?6because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I don't have anything to offer him.'
7And suppose the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.'7and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’?7and from inside he answers and says, 'Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.'7And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.7Then he will answer from inside and say, Don't bother me! The door is already locked, and my children and I have gone to bed. I can't get up to give you anything.'
8I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.8I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs.8"I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.8I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.8I tell you, even though he won't get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his friend's persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
9"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.9And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.9"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.9And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.9"So I say to you, keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
10For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.10For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.10"For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.10For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
11"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?11What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent;11"Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?11What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish?
12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?12or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?12"Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he?12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"13If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”13"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?13If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

A House Divided

(Matthew 12:22-30; Mark 3:20-27)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
14Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed.14Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled.14And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute; when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed.14And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.14Now He was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon came out, the man who had been mute, spoke, and the crowds were amazed.
15But some of them said, "By Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons."15But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons,”15But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons."15But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.15But some of them said, "He drives out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons!"
16Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.16while others, to test him, kept seeking from him a sign from heaven.16Others, to test Him, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven.16And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.16And others, as a test, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven.
17Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: "Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.17But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls.17But He knew their thoughts and said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls.17But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.17Knowing their thoughts, He told them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and a house divided against itself falls.

18If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul.18And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.18"If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.18If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.18If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say I drive out demons by Beelzebul.
19Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.19And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.19"And if I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? So they will be your judges.19And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.19And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, who is it your sons drive them out by? For this reason they will be your judges.
20But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.20But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.20"But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.20But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.20If I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.
21"When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe.21When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe;21"When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed.21When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:21When a strong man, fully armed, guards his estate, his possessions are secure.
22But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.22but when one stronger than he attacks him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted and divides his spoil.22"But when someone stronger than he attacks him and overpowers him, he takes away from him all his armor on which he had relied and distributes his plunder.22But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.22But when one stronger than he attacks and overpowers him, he takes from him all his weapons he trusted in, and divides up his plunder.
23"Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.23Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.23"He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, scatters.23He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.23Anyone who is not with Me is against Me, and anyone who does not gather with Me scatters.

Return of an Unclean Spirit

(Matthew 12:43-45)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
24"When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.'24“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’24"When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.'24When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.24"When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it roams through waterless places looking for rest, and not finding rest, it then says, I'll go back to my house where I came from.'
25When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order.25And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order.25"And when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order.25And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.25And returning, it finds the house swept and put in order.
26Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first."26Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first.”26"Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first."26Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.26Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that man's last condition is worse than the first."

True Blessedness

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
27As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you."27As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!”27While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed."27And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.27As He was saying these things, a woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "The womb that bore You and the one who nursed You are blessed!"
28He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."28But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”28But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it."28But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.28He said, "Even more, those who hear the word of God and keep it are blessed!"

The Sign of Jonah

(Matthew 12:38-42)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
29As the crowds increased, Jesus said, "This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.29When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, “This generation is an evil generation. It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.29As the crowds were increasing, He began to say, "This generation is a wicked generation; it seeks for a sign, and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah.29And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.29As the crowds were increasing, He began saying: "This generation is an evil generation. It demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.
30For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation.30For as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.30"For just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.30For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.30For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation.
31The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon's wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here.31The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.31"The Queen of the South will rise up with the men of this generation at the judgment and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.31The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.31The queen of the south will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and look--something greater than Solomon is here!
32The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and now something greater than Jonah is here.32The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.32"The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.32The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.32The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at Jonah's proclamation, and look--something greater than Jonah is here!

The Lamp of the Body

(Matthew 6:22-24)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
33"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.33“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.33"No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.33No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.33"No one lights a lamp and puts it in the cellar or under a basket, but on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see its light.
34Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness.34Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness.34"The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness.34The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.34Your eye is the lamp of the body. When your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light. But when it is bad, your body is also full of darkness.
35See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.35Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness.35"Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness.35Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.35Take care then, that the light in you is not darkness.
36Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you."36If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.”36"If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays."36If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.36If, therefore, your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be entirely illuminated, as when a lamp shines its light on you."

Woes to Pharisees and Experts in Law

(Matthew 23:1-36)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
37When Jesus had finished speaking, a Pharisee invited him to eat with him; so he went in and reclined at the table.37While Jesus was speaking, a Pharisee asked him to dine with him, so he went in and reclined at table.37Now when He had spoken, a Pharisee asked Him to have lunch with him; and He went in, and reclined at the table.37And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.37As He was speaking, a Pharisee asked Him to dine with him. So He went in and reclined at the table.
38But the Pharisee was surprised when he noticed that Jesus did not first wash before the meal.38The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not first wash before dinner.38When the Pharisee saw it, he was surprised that He had not first ceremonially washed before the meal.38And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.38When the Pharisee saw this, he was amazed that He did not first perform the ritual washing before dinner.
39Then the Lord said to him, "Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.39And the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.39But the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the platter; but inside of you, you are full of robbery and wickedness.39And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.39But the Lord said to him: "Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and evil.
40You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also?40You fools! Did not he who made the outside make the inside also?40"You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also?40Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?40Fools! Didn't He who made the outside make the inside too?
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
41But now as for what is inside you--be generous to the poor, and everything will be clean for you.41But give as alms those things that are within, and behold, everything is clean for you.41"But give that which is within as charity, and then all things are clean for you.41But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.41But give from what is within to the poor, and then everything is clean for you.
42"Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.42“But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.42"But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.42But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.42"But woe to you Pharisees! You give a tenth of mint, rue, and every kind of herb, and you bypass justice and love for God. These things you should have done without neglecting the others.
43"Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and respectful greetings in the marketplaces.43Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.43"Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and the respectful greetings in the market places.43Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.43"Woe to you Pharisees! You love the front seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.
44"Woe to you, because you are like unmarked graves, which people walk over without knowing it."44Woe to you! For you are like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without knowing it.”44"Woe to you! For you are like concealed tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it."44Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.44"Woe to you! You are like unmarked graves; the people who walk over them don't know it."
45One of the experts in the law answered him, "Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us also."45One of the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.”45One of the lawyers said to Him in reply, "Teacher, when You say this, You insult us too."45Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.45One of the experts in the law answered Him, "Teacher, when You say these things You insult us too."
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
46Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them.46And he said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.46But He said, "Woe to you lawyers as well! For you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear, while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers.46And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.46Then He said: "Woe also to you experts in the law! You load people with burdens that are hard to carry, yet you yourselves don't touch these burdens with one of your fingers.
47"Woe to you, because you build tombs for the prophets, and it was your ancestors who killed them.47Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed.47"Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and it was your fathers who killed them.47Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.47"Woe to you! You build monuments to the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48So you testify that you approve of what your ancestors did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.48So you are witnesses and you consent to the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs.48"So you are witnesses and approve the deeds of your fathers; because it was they who killed them, and you build their tombs.48Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.48Therefore, you are witnesses that you approve the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their monuments.
49Because of this, God in his wisdom said, 'I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute.'49Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’49"For this reason also the wisdom of God said, 'I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and some they will persecute,49Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:49Because of this, the wisdom of God said, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,'
50Therefore this generation will be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world,50so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation,50so that the blood of all the prophets, shed since the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation,50That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;50so that this generation may be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets shed since the foundation of the world --

52"Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering."52Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.”52"Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you hindered those who were entering."52Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.52"Woe to you experts in the law! 54waiting to catch him in something he might say.54lying in wait for him, to catch him in something he might say.54plotting against Him to catch Him in something He might say.54Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.54they were lying in wait for Him to trap Him in something He said.
