מַה־
יָּפ֧וּ
פְעָמַ֛יִךְ
בַּנְּעָלִ֖ים
בַּת־
נָדִ֑יב
חַמּוּקֵ֣י
יְרֵכַ֔יִךְ
כְּמ֣וֹ
חֲלָאִ֔ים
מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה
יְדֵ֥י
אָמָּֽן׃
How
beautiful
are your sandaled
feet,
O daughter
of the prince!
The curves
of your thighs
are like
jewels,
the handiwork
of a master.
How beautiful
are thy feet
with shoes,
O prince's
daughter!
the joints
of thy thighs
[are] like jewels,
the work
of the hands
of a cunning workman.
2
שָׁרְרֵךְ֙
אַגַּ֣ן
הַסַּ֔הַר
אַל־
יֶחְסַ֖ר
הַמָּ֑זֶג
בִּטְנֵךְ֙
עֲרֵמַ֣ת
חִטִּ֔ים
סוּגָ֖ה
בַּשּׁוֹשַׁנִּֽים׃
Your navel
is a rounded
goblet;
it never
lacks
blended wine.
Your waist
is a mound
of wheat
encircled
by the lilies.
Thy navel
[is like] a round
goblet,
[which] wanteth
not liquor:
thy belly
[is like] an heap
of wheat
set about
with lilies.
3
שְׁנֵ֥י
שָׁדַ֛יִךְ
כִּשְׁנֵ֥י
עֳפָרִ֖ים
תָּאֳמֵ֥י
צְבִיָּֽה׃
Your breasts
are like two
fawns,
twins
of a gazelle.
Thy two
breasts
[are] like two
young
roes
[that are] twins.
4
צַוָּארֵ֖ךְ
כְּמִגְדַּ֣ל
הַשֵּׁ֑ן
עֵינַ֜יִךְ
בְּרֵכ֣וֹת
בְּחֶשְׁבּ֗וֹן
עַל־
שַׁ֙עַר֙
בַּת־
רַבִּ֔ים
אַפֵּךְ֙
כְּמִגְדַּ֣ל
הַלְּבָנ֔וֹן
צוֹפֶ֖ה
פְּנֵ֥י
דַמָּֽשֶׂק׃
Your neck
is like a tower
made of ivory;
your eyes
are like the pools
of Heshbon
by
the gate
of Bath-rabbim;
your nose
is like the tower
of Lebanon,
facing toward
Damascus.
Thy neck
[is] as a tower
of ivory;
thine eyes
[like] the fishpools
in Heshbon,
by the gate
of Bathrabbim:
thy nose
[is] as the tower
of Lebanon
which looketh
toward
Damascus.
5
רֹאשֵׁ֤ךְ
עָלַ֙יִךְ֙
כַּכַּרְמֶ֔ל
וְדַלַּ֥ת
רֹאשֵׁ֖ךְ
כָּאַרְגָּמָ֑ן
מֶ֖לֶךְ
אָס֥וּר
בָּרְהָטִֽים׃
Your head
crowns you
like Mount Carmel,
the hair
of your head
like purple threads;
the king
is captured
in your tresses.
Thine head
upon thee [is] like Carmel,
and the hair
of thine head
like purple;
the king
[is] held
in the galleries.
6
מַה־
יָּפִית֙
וּמַה־
נָּעַ֔מְתְּ
אַהֲבָ֖ה
בַּתַּֽעֲנוּגִֽים׃
How
fair
and
pleasant you are,
O love,
with your delights!
How fair
and how pleasant
art thou, O love,
for delights!
7
זֹ֤את
קֽוֹמָתֵךְ֙
דָּֽמְתָ֣ה
לְתָמָ֔ר
וְשָׁדַ֖יִךְ
לְאַשְׁכֹּלֽוֹת׃
Your stature
is like
a palm tree;
your breasts
are clusters of fruit.
This thy stature
is like
to a palm tree,
and thy breasts
to clusters
[of grapes].
8
אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙
אֶעֱלֶ֣ה
בְתָמָ֔ר
אֹֽחֲזָ֖ה
בְּסַנְסִנָּ֑יו
וְיִֽהְיוּ־
נָ֤א
שָׁדַ֙יִךְ֙
כְּאֶשְׁכְּל֣וֹת
הַגֶּ֔פֶן
וְרֵ֥יחַ
אַפֵּ֖ךְ
כַּתַּפּוּחִֽים׃
I said,
“I will climb
the palm tree;
I will take hold
of its fruit.”
May your breasts
be
like clusters
of the vine,
the fragrance
of your breath
like apples,
I said,
I will go up
to the palm tree,
I will take hold
of the boughs
thereof: now also thy breasts
shall be as clusters
of the vine,
and the smell
of thy nose
like apples;
9
וְחִכֵּ֕ךְ
כְּיֵ֥ין
הַטּ֛וֹב
הוֹלֵ֥ךְ
לְדוֹדִ֖י
לְמֵישָׁרִ֑ים
דּוֹבֵ֖ב
שִׂפְתֵ֥י
יְשֵׁנִֽים׃
and your mouth
like the finest
wine.
May it flow
smoothly
to my beloved,
gliding gently over
lips
and teeth.
And the roof of thy mouth
like the best
wine
for my beloved,
that goeth
[down] sweetly,
causing the lips
of those that are asleep
to speak.
10
אֲנִ֣י
לְדוֹדִ֔י
וְעָלַ֖י
תְּשׁוּקָתֽוֹ׃
ס
I
belong to my beloved,
and his desire
is for me.
I [am] my beloved's,
and his desire
[is] toward me.
11
לְכָ֤ה

נָלִ֖ינָה
בַּכְּפָרִֽים׃
Come,
my beloved,
let us go
to the countryside;
let us spend the night
among the wildflowers.
Come,
my beloved,
let us go forth
into the field;
let us lodge
in the villages.
12
נַשְׁכִּ֙ימָה֙

לָֽךְ׃
Let us go early
to the vineyards
to see
if
the vine
has budded,
if the blossom
has opened,
if the pomegranates are in bloom—
there
I will give
you
my love.
Let us get up early
to the vineyards;
let us see
if the vine
flourish,
[whether] the tender grape
appear,
[and] the pomegranates
bud forth:
there will I give
thee my loves.
13
הַֽדּוּדָאִ֣ים

דּוֹדִ֖י
צָפַ֥נְתִּי
לָֽךְ׃
The mandrakes
send forth
a fragrance,
and at
our door
is every
delicacy,
new
as
well as old,
that I have treasured up
for you,
my beloved.
The mandrakes
give
a smell,
and at our gates
[are] all manner of pleasant
[fruits], new
and old,
[which] I have laid up
for thee, O my beloved.
