David, the second king of Israel, is a prominent biblical figure known for his deep relationship with God, often expressed through prayer. His life, as recorded in the Old Testament, provides numerous examples of answered prayers, reflecting his reliance on divine guidance and intervention.

1. Prayer for Guidance and Victory:

David frequently sought God's guidance in military matters. One notable instance is found in 1 Samuel 23:2-5, where David inquired of the Lord whether he should attack the Philistines to save the city of Keilah. 3. Prayer for Forgiveness:

David's prayer life also included heartfelt repentance, most notably after his sin with Bathsheba. In Psalm 51, David pleads for mercy, acknowledging his transgressions and seeking God's forgiveness. His prayer, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10), is met with divine forgiveness, illustrating God's readiness to restore those who genuinely repent.

4. Prayer for Blessing and Covenant:

Throughout his life, David experienced God's intervention, affirming his trust in divine justice.

6. Prayer for Wisdom and Understanding:

David's prayers also encompassed a desire for wisdom and understanding. In Psalm 119, he repeatedly asks for insight into God's laws: "Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from Your law" (Psalm 119:18). This prayer reflects David's longing for spiritual enlightenment, which God graciously provided.

David's life is a testament to the power and efficacy of prayer.
