Judgment on the Jews in Egypt

1  הַדָּבָר֙ (The word) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) הָיָ֣ה (came) אֶֽל־ (to) יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ (Jeremiah) אֶ֚ל (concerning) כָּל־ (all) הַיְּהוּדִ֔ים (the Jews) הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים (who are dwelling) בְּאֶ֣רֶץ (in the land) מִצְרָ֑יִם (of Egypt), הַיֹּשְׁבִ֤ים (those dwelling) בְּמִגְדֹּל֙ (in Migdol), וּבְתַחְפַּנְחֵ֣ס (and in Tahpanhes), וּבְנֹ֔ף (and in Noph), וּבְאֶ֥רֶץ (and in the land) פַּתְר֖וֹס (of Pathros), לֵאמֹֽר׃ס (saying), 2  כֹּה־ (Thus) אָמַ֞ר (says) יְהוָ֤ה (YHWH of) צְבָאוֹת֙ (Hosts), אֱלֹהֵ֣י (the God) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel); אַתֶּ֣ם (You⁺) רְאִיתֶ֗ם (have seen) אֵ֤ת (-) כָּל־ (all) הָֽרָעָה֙ (the disaster) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) הֵבֵ֙אתִי֙ (I have brought) עַל־ (on) יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם (Jerusalem), וְעַ֖ל (and on) כָּל־ (all) עָרֵ֣י (the cities) יְהוּדָ֑ה (of Judah); וְהִנָּ֤ם (and behold) חָרְבָּה֙ (they are a desolation), הַיּ֣וֹם (the day) הַזֶּ֔ה (this) וְאֵ֥ין (and no one) בָּהֶ֖ם (in them) יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ (is dwelling). 3  מִפְּנֵ֣י (Because of) רָעָתָ֗ם (their evil) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) עָשׂוּ֙ (they have done)

לְהַכְעִסֵ֔נִי (provoking Me to anger), לָלֶ֣כֶת (by going) לְקַטֵּ֔ר (to burn incense), לַעֲבֹ֖ד (to serve) לֵאלֹהִ֣ים (gods), אֲחֵרִ֑ים (other) אֲשֶׁר֙ (whom) לֹ֣א (not), יְדָע֔וּם (they had known) הֵ֖מָּה (they), אַתֶּ֥ם (you⁺), וַאֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ (and your⁺ fathers). 4  וָאֶשְׁלַ֤ח (And I sent) אֲלֵיכֶם֙ (to you⁺) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) עֲבָדַ֣י (My servants) הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים (the prophets), הַשְׁכֵּ֥ים (rising early) וְשָׁלֹ֖חַ (and sending them) לֵאמֹ֑ר (saying), אַל־ (Do not) נָ֣א (I implore you), תַעֲשׂ֗וּ (do) אֵ֛ת (-) דְּבַֽר־ (the thing) הַתֹּעֵבָ֥ה (of abhorrence) הַזֹּ֖את (this) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (which) שָׂנֵֽאתִי׃ (I hate).

5  וְלֹ֤א (And not), שָֽׁמְעוּ֙ (they did listen) וְלֹא־ (and not) הִטּ֣וּ (stretch out) אֶת־ (-) אָזְנָ֔ם (their ear) לָשׁ֖וּב (to turn back) מֵרָֽעָתָ֑ם (from their evil), לְבִלְתִּ֥י (so as not) קַטֵּ֖ר (to burn incense) לֵאלֹהִ֥ים (to gods) אֲחֵרִֽים׃ (other). 6  וַתִּתַּ֤ךְ (And was poured out), חֲמָתִי֙ (My fury) וְאַפִּ֔י (and My anger) וַתִּבְעַר֙ (and it burned) בְּעָרֵ֣י (in the cities) יְהוּדָ֔ה (of Judah) וּבְחֻצ֖וֹת (and in the streets) יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם (of Jerusalem); וַתִּהְיֶ֛ינָה (and they became) לְחָרְבָּ֥ה (as a ruin) לִשְׁמָמָ֖ה (and as a desolation), כַּיּ֥וֹם (as the day) הַזֶּֽה׃ס (this).

7  וְעַתָּ֡ה (And now) כֹּֽה־ (thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָה֩ (YHWH), אֱלֹהֵ֨י (the God) צְבָא֜וֹת (of Hosts), אֱלֹהֵ֣י (the God) יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל (of Israel); לָמָה֩ (Why) אַתֶּ֨ם (you⁺) עֹשִׂ֜ים (are doing) רָעָ֤ה (evil) גְדוֹלָה֙ (great) אֶל־ (against) נַפְשֹׁ֣תֵכֶ֔ם (yourselves), לְהַכְרִ֨ית (to cut off) לָכֶ֧ם (from you⁺) אִישׁ־ (man) וְאִשָּׁ֛ה (and woman), עוֹלֵ֥ל (child) וְיוֹנֵ֖ק (and infant), מִתּ֣וֹךְ (from the midst) יְהוּדָ֑ה (of Judah), לְבִלְתִּ֛י (so as not) הוֹתִ֥יר (to leave behind) לָכֶ֖ם (for you⁺) שְׁאֵרִֽית׃ (a remnant); 8  לְהַכְעִסֵ֙נִי֙ (by provoking Me to anger) בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣י (by the works) יְדֵיכֶ֔ם (of your⁺ hands), לְקַטֵּ֞ר (burning incense) לֵאלֹהִ֤ים (to gods) אֲחֵרִים֙ (other) בְּאֶ֣רֶץ (in the land) מִצְרַ֔יִם (of Egypt), אֲשֶׁר־ (where) אַתֶּ֥ם (you⁺) בָּאִ֖ים (are going in) לָג֣וּר (to dwell), שָׁ֑ם (there) לְמַ֙עַן֙ (so as) הַכְרִ֣ית (to cut off), לָכֶ֔ם (yourselves) וּלְמַ֤עַן (and) הֱיֽוֹתְכֶם֙ (to become) לִקְלָלָ֣ה (as a curse) וּלְחֶרְפָּ֔ה (and a reproach) בְּכֹ֖ל (among all) גּוֹיֵ֥י (the nations) הָאָֽרֶץ׃ (of the earth)? 9  הַֽשְׁכַחְתֶּם֩ (Have you⁺ forgotten) אֶת־ (-) רָע֨וֹת (the evils) אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֜ם (of your⁺ fathers), וְאֶת־ (and) רָע֣וֹת׀ (the evils) מַלְכֵ֣י (of the kings) יְהוּדָ֗ה (of Judah), וְאֵת֙ (and) רָע֣וֹת (the evils) נָשָׁ֔יו (of their wives), וְאֵת֙ (and) רָעֹ֣תֵכֶ֔ם (your⁺ own evils), וְאֵ֖ת (and) רָעֹ֣ת (the evils) נְשֵׁיכֶ֑ם (of your⁺ wives), אֲשֶׁ֤ר (which) עָשׂוּ֙ (they did) בְּאֶ֣רֶץ (in the land) יְהוּדָ֔ה (of Judah), וּבְחֻצ֖וֹת (and in the streets) יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ (of Jerusalem)? 10  לֹ֣א (Not) דֻכְּא֔וּ (have they been broken) עַ֖ד (to) הַיּ֣וֹם (the day), הַזֶּ֑ה (this) וְלֹ֣א (and not) יָרְא֗וּ (have they feared), וְלֹֽא־ (and not) הָלְכ֤וּ (have they walked) בְתֽוֹרָתִי֙ (in My law), וּבְחֻקֹּתַ֔י (or in My statutes), אֲשֶׁר־ (that) נָתַ֥תִּי (I set) לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם (before you⁺) וְלִפְנֵ֥י (and before) אֲבוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ס (your⁺ fathers).

11  לָכֵ֗ן (Therefore) כֹּֽה־ (thus) אָמַ֞ר (says) יְהוָ֤ה (YHWH of) צְבָאוֹת֙ (Hosts), אֱלֹהֵ֣י (the God) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel); הִנְנִ֨י (behold, I) שָׂ֥ם (am setting) פָּנַ֛י (My face) בָּכֶ֖ם (against you⁺) לְרָעָ֑ה (for disaster), וּלְהַכְרִ֖ית (and to cut off) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) יְהוּדָֽה׃ (Judah). 12  וְלָקַחְתִּ֞י (And I will take) אֶת־ (-) שְׁאֵרִ֣ית (the remnant) יְהוּדָ֗ה (of Judah), אֲשֶׁר־ (those who) שָׂ֨מוּ (have set) פְנֵיהֶ֜ם (their faces) לָב֣וֹא (to go into) אֶֽרֶץ־ (the land) מִצְרַיִם֮ (of Egypt) לָג֣וּר (to dwell) שָׁם֒ (there), וְתַ֨מּוּ (and they will be finished off), כֹ֜ל (all) בְּאֶ֧רֶץ (in the land) מִצְרַ֣יִם (of Egypt); יִפֹּ֗לוּ (they will fall) בַּחֶ֤רֶב (by the sword) בָּֽרָעָב֙ (by the famine). יִתַּ֔מּוּ (They will be finished off) מִקָּטֹן֙ (from the small) וְעַד־ (even to) גָּד֔וֹל (the great), בַּחֶ֥רֶב (by the sword) וּבָרָעָ֖ב (and by the famine); יָמֻ֑תוּ (they will die), וְהָיוּ֙ (and they will be) לְאָלָ֣ה (as an object of cursing), לְשַׁמָּ֔ה (as a horror), וְלִקְלָלָ֖ה (and as a curse), וּלְחֶרְפָּֽה׃ (and as a taunt).

13  וּפָקַדְתִּ֗י (And For I will visit punishment) עַ֤ל (upon) הַיּֽוֹשְׁבִים֙ (those dwelling) בְּאֶ֣רֶץ (in the land) מִצְרַ֔יִם (of Egypt), כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר (as) פָּקַ֖דְתִּי (I visited) עַל־ (upon) יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם (Jerusalem), בַּחֶ֥רֶב (by the sword), בָּרָעָ֖ב (by the famine), וּבַדָּֽבֶר׃ (and by pestilence). 14  וְלֹ֨א (And not) יִהְיֶ֜ה (will there be) פָּלִ֤יט (an escapee) וְשָׂרִיד֙ (or survivor), לִשְׁאֵרִ֣ית (for the remnant) יְהוּדָ֔ה (of Judah), הַבָּאִ֥ים (having gone) לָגֽוּר־ (to dwell) שָׁ֖ם (there), בְּאֶ֣רֶץ (in the land) מִצְרָ֑יִם (of Egypt) וְלָשׁ֣וּב׀ (that they should return) אֶ֣רֶץ (to the land) יְהוּדָ֗ה (of Judah), אֲשֶׁר־ (to which) הֵ֜מָּה (they) מְנַשְּׂאִ֤ים (are lifting) אֶת־ (-) נַפְשָׁם֙ (their soul) לָשׁוּב֙ (to return) לָשֶׁ֣בֶת (to dwell) שָׁ֔ם (there); כִּ֥י (for) לֹֽא־ (none) יָשׁ֖וּבוּ (will return) כִּ֥י (except) אִם־ (a few) פְּלֵטִֽים׃ס (escapees).

The Stubbornness of the People

15  וַיַּעֲנ֣וּ (And they answered) אֶֽת־ (-) יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ (Jeremiah), כָּל־ (all) הָאֲנָשִׁ֤ים (the men) הַיֹּֽדְעִים֙ (knowing) כִּֽי־ (that) מְקַטְּר֤וֹת (had been burning incense) נְשֵׁיהֶם֙ (their wives) לֵאלֹהִ֣ים (to gods), אֲחֵרִ֔ים (other) וְכָל־ (and all) הַנָּשִׁ֥ים (the women) הָעֹמְד֖וֹת (standing by), קָהָ֣ל (an assembly), גָּד֑וֹל (great) וְכָל־ (and all) הָעָ֛ם (the people) הַיֹּשְׁבִ֥ים (dwelling) בְּאֶֽרֶץ־ (in the land) מִצְרַ֖יִם (of Egypt), בְּפַתְר֥וֹס (in Pathros), לֵאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 16  הַדָּבָ֛ר (The word) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) דִּבַּ֥רְתָּ (you have spoken) אֵלֵ֖ינוּ (to us) בְּשֵׁ֣ם (in the name) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH), אֵינֶ֥נּוּ (not) שֹׁמְעִ֖ים (will we listen) אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ (to you). 17  כִּ֩י (For) עָשֹׂ֨ה (doing) נַעֲשֶׂ֜ה (will we do) אֶֽת־ (-) כָּל־ (every) הַדָּבָ֣ר׀ (word) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) יָצָ֣א (has gone forth) מִפִּ֗ינוּ (from our mouth), לְקַטֵּ֞ר (burning incense) לִמְלֶ֣כֶת (to the queen) הַשָּׁמַיִם֮ (of the heavens), וְהַסֵּֽיךְ־ (and pouring out) לָ֣הּ (to her) נְסָכִים֒ (drink offerings) כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר (as) עָשִׂ֜ינוּ (we have done), אֲנַ֤חְנוּ (we), וַאֲבֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ (and our fathers), מְלָכֵ֣ינוּ (our kings), וְשָׂרֵ֔ינוּ (and our princes), בְּעָרֵ֣י (in the cities) יְהוּדָ֔ה (of Judah), וּבְחֻצ֖וֹת (and in the streets) יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם (of Jerusalem);

וַנִּֽשְׂבַּֽע־ (and we were satisfied) לֶ֙חֶם֙ (with food), וַנִּֽהְיֶ֣ה (and we were) טוֹבִ֔ים (well), וְרָעָ֖ה (and evil) לֹ֥א (not) רָאִֽינוּ׃ (did we see). 18  וּמִן־ (And from) אָ֡ז (the time) חָדַ֜לְנוּ (we stopped) לְקַטֵּ֨ר (burning incense) לִמְלֶ֧כֶת (to the queen) הַשָּׁמַ֛יִם (of the heavens), וְהַסֵּֽךְ־ (and pouring out) לָ֥הּ (to her) נְסָכִ֖ים (drink offerings) חָסַ֣רְנוּ (we have lacked) כֹ֑ל (everything) וּבַחֶ֥רֶב (and by the sword) וּבָרָעָ֖ב (and by the famine) תָּֽמְנוּ׃ (have been finished off).

19  וְכִֽי־ (And when) אֲנַ֤חְנוּ (we) מְקַטְּרִים֙ (burning incense) לִמְלֶ֣כֶת (to the queen) הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם (of the heavens), וּלְהַסֵּ֥ךְ (and pouring out) לָ֖הּ (to her) נְסָכִ֑ים (drink offerings) הֲמִֽבַּלְעֲדֵ֣י (was it not without) אֲנָשֵׁ֗ינוּ (our husbands) עָשִׂ֨ינוּ (that we made) לָ֤הּ (for her) כַּוָּנִים֙ (cakes) לְהַ֣עֲצִבָ֔ה (to worship her) וְהַסֵּ֥ךְ (and pour out) לָ֖הּ (to her) נְסָכִֽים׃פ (drink offerings).

Calamity for the Jews

20  וַיֹּ֥אמֶר (And spoke) יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ (Jeremiah) אֶל־ (to) כָּל־ (all) הָעָ֑ם (the people), עַל־ (to) הַגְּבָרִ֤ים (the men), וְעַל־ (and to) הַנָּשִׁים֙ (the women), וְעַל־ (and to) כָּל־ (all) הָעָ֔ם (the people) הָעֹנִ֥ים (answering) אֹת֛וֹ (him) דָּבָ֖ר (that word) לֵאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 21  הֲל֣וֹא (Was it not) אֶת־ (-) הַקִּטֵּ֗ר (the incense) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that which) קִטַּרְתֶּ֜ם (you⁺ burned) בְּעָרֵ֤י (in the cities) יְהוּדָה֙ (of Judah), וּבְחֻצ֣וֹת (and in the streets) יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם (of Jerusalem), אַתֶּ֧ם (you⁺), וַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֛ם (and your⁺ fathers), מַלְכֵיכֶ֥ם (your⁺ kings), וְשָׂרֵיכֶ֖ם (and your⁺ princes), וְעַ֣ם (and the people) הָאָ֑רֶץ (of the land), אֹתָם֙ (them who) זָכַ֣ר (remembered) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH) וַֽתַּעֲלֶ֖ה (and they came up) עַל־ (upon) לִבּֽוֹ׃ (His heart)? 22  וְלֹֽא־ (And not) יוּכַל֩ (was able) יְהוָ֨ה (YHWH) ע֜וֹד (any longer) לָשֵׂ֗את (to bear it), מִפְּנֵי֙ (from the face) רֹ֣עַ (of the evil) מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֔ם (of your⁺ deeds), מִפְּנֵ֥י (and from the face) הַתּוֹעֵבֹ֖ת (of the abominations) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (which) עֲשִׂיתֶ֑ם (you⁺ have done); וַתְּהִ֣י (and has become) אַ֠רְצְכֶם (your⁺ land) לְחָרְבָּ֨ה (as a desolation), וּלְשַׁמָּ֧ה (and as a horror), וְלִקְלָלָ֛ה (and as a curse), מֵאֵ֥ין (from there being no) יוֹשֵׁ֖ב (one dwelling there), כְּהַיּ֥וֹם (as the day) הַזֶּֽה׃ (this). 23  מִפְּנֵי֩ (Before the face of) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that) קִטַּרְתֶּ֜ם (you⁺ have burned incense), וַאֲשֶׁ֧ר (and that) חֲטָאתֶ֣ם (you⁺ have sinned) לַיהוָ֗ה (against YHWH) וְלֹ֤א (and not) שְׁמַעְתֶּם֙ (have you⁺ listened) בְּק֣וֹל (to the voice) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH) וּבְתֹרָת֧וֹ (and by His law), וּבְחֻקֹּתָ֛יו (and by His statutes), וּבְעֵדְוֺתָ֖יו (and by His testimonies); לֹ֣א (not) הֲלַכְתֶּ֑ם (have you⁺ walked) עַל־ (upon) כֵּ֞ן (thus) קָרָ֥את (has met) אֶתְכֶ֛ם (you⁺) הָרָעָ֥ה (the disaster) הַזֹּ֖את (this) כַּיּ֥וֹם (as the day) הַזֶּֽה׃ס (this).

24  וַיֹּ֤אמֶר (And said) יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ (Jeremiah) אֶל־ (to) כָּל־ (all) הָעָ֔ם (the people), וְאֶ֖ל (and to) כָּל־ (all) הַנָּשִׁ֑ים (the women), שִׁמְעוּ֙ (Hear) דְּבַר־ (the word) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH), כָּל־ (all) יְהוּדָ֕ה (Judah) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (who are) בְּאֶ֥רֶץ (in the land) מִצְרָֽיִם׃ס (of Egypt), 25  כֹּֽה־ (thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָֽה־ (YHWH of) צְבָאוֹת֩ (Hosts), אֱלֹהֵ֨י (the God) יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל (of Israel), לֵאמֹ֗ר (saying); אַתֶּ֨ם (You⁺) וּנְשֵׁיכֶ֜ם (and your⁺ wives) וַתְּדַבֵּ֣רְנָה (have indeed spoken) בְּפִיכֶם֮ (with your⁺ mouths), וּבִידֵיכֶ֣ם (and with your⁺ hands), מִלֵּאתֶ֣ם׀ (you⁺ have fulfilled it) לֵאמֹר֒ (saying), עָשֹׂ֨ה (Performing) נַעֲשֶׂ֜ה (we will perform) אֶת־ (-) נְדָרֵ֗ינוּ (our vows) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) נָדַ֙רְנוּ֙ (we have vowed), לְקַטֵּר֙ (to burn incense) לִמְלֶ֣כֶת (to the queen) הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם (of the heavens), וּלְהַסֵּ֥ךְ (and to pour out) לָ֖הּ (to her) נְסָכִ֑ים (drink offerings) הָקֵ֤ים (standing) תָּקִ֙ימְנָה֙ (you⁺ will make stand) אֶת־ (-) נִדְרֵיכֶ֔ם (your⁺ vows), וְעָשֹׂ֥ה (and performing) תַעֲשֶׂ֖ינָה (you⁺ will perform) אֶת־ (-) נִדְרֵיכֶֽם׃פ (your⁺ vows).

26  לָכֵן֙ (Therefore) שִׁמְע֣וּ (hear) דְבַר־ (the word) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH), כָּל־ (all) יְהוּדָ֕ה (Judah) הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים (who are dwelling) בְּאֶ֣רֶץ (in the land) מִצְרָ֑יִם (of Egypt); הִנְנִ֨י (behold, I) נִשְׁבַּ֜עְתִּי (have sworn) בִּשְׁמִ֤י (by My name), הַגָּדוֹל֙ (great) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH), אִם־ (that not) יִהְיֶה֩ (will be) ע֨וֹד (anymore) שְׁמִ֜י (My name) נִקְרָ֣א׀ (called) בְּפִ֣י׀ (in the mouth) כָּל־ (of any) אִ֣ישׁ (man) יְהוּדָ֗ה (of Judah) אֹמֵ֛ר (saying), חַי־ (By the life) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִ֖ה (YHWH), בְּכָל־ (In all) אֶ֥רֶץ (the land) מִצְרָֽיִם׃ (of Egypt).

27  הִנְנִ֨י (Behold, I) שֹׁקֵ֧ד (am watching) עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם (over them) לְרָעָ֖ה (for evil), וְלֹ֣א (and not) לְטוֹבָ֑ה (for good); וְתַמּוּ֩ (and will be finished off) כָל־ (all) אִ֨ישׁ (the men) יְהוּדָ֜ה (of Judah) אֲשֶׁ֧ר (who are) בְּאֶֽרֶץ־ (in the land) מִצְרַ֛יִם (of Egypt) בַּחֶ֥רֶב (by the sword) וּבָרָעָ֖ב (and by the famine), עַד־ (until) כְּלוֹתָֽם׃ (they are finished off).

28  וּפְלִיטֵ֨י (And those escaping) חֶ֜רֶב (the sword) יְשֻׁב֨וּן (will return) מִן־ (from) אֶ֧רֶץ (the land) מִצְרַ֛יִם (of Egypt) אֶ֥רֶץ (to the land) יְהוּדָ֖ה (of Judah), מְתֵ֣י (small in) מִסְפָּ֑ר (number) וְֽיָדְע֞וּ (and they will know) כָּל־ (all) שְׁאֵרִ֣ית (the remnant) יְהוּדָ֗ה (of Judah), הַבָּאִ֤ים (having gone) לְאֶֽרֶץ־ (to the land) מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ (of Egypt) לָג֣וּר (to dwell) שָׁ֔ם (there), דְּבַר־ (word) מִ֥י (whose) יָק֖וּם (will stand), מִמֶּ֥נִּי (from Me), וּמֵהֶֽם׃ (or from them).

29  וְזֹאת־ (And this is) לָכֶ֤ם (for you⁺) הָאוֹת֙ (a sign) נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH), כִּֽי־ (that) פֹקֵ֥ד (will visit punishment) אֲנִ֛י (I) עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם (on you⁺) בַּמָּק֣וֹם (in the place), הַזֶּ֑ה (this) לְמַ֙עַן֙ (so that) תֵּֽדְע֔וּ (you⁺ may know) כִּי֩ (that) ק֨וֹם (standing) יָק֧וּמוּ (they will stand) דְבָרַ֛י (My words) עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם (against you⁺) לְרָעָֽה׃ס (for harm); 30  כֹּ֣ה׀ (thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH); הִנְנִ֣י (behold, I) נֹ֠תֵן (am giving) אֶת־ (-) פַּרְעֹ֨ה (Pharaoh) חָפְרַ֤ע (Hophra) מֶֽלֶךְ־ (king) מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ (of Egypt) בְּיַ֣ד (into the hand) אֹֽיְבָ֔יו (of his enemies), וּבְיַ֖ד (and into the hand) מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י (of those seeking) נַפְשׁ֑וֹ (his soul); כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר (as) נָתַ֜תִּי (I gave) אֶת־ (-) צִדְקִיָּ֣הוּ (Zedekiah) מֶֽלֶךְ־ (king) יְהוּדָ֗ה (of Judah) בְּיַ֨ד (into the hand) נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֧ר (of Nebuchadnezzar) מֶֽלֶךְ־ (king) בָּבֶ֛ל (of Babylon), אֹיְב֖וֹ (his enemy), וּמְבַקֵּ֥שׁ (and one seeking) נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ס (his soul).
