Give Ear to My Words

לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ (For the one directing), אֶֽל־ (with) הַנְּחִיל֗וֹת (the Nehiloth), מִזְמ֥וֹר (a Psalm) לְדָוִֽד׃ (of David).

אֲמָרַ֖י (My words) 1הַאֲזִ֥ינָה׀ (give ear to), יְהוָ֗ה (O YHWH);

בִּ֣ינָה (have regard for) הֲגִֽיגִי׃ (my murmuring).

2  הַקְשִׁ֤יבָה׀ (Be attentive) לְק֬וֹל (to the voice) שַׁוְעִ֗י (of my cry),

מַלְכִּ֥י (O my King) וֵאלֹהָ֑י (and my God),

כִּֽי־ (for) אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ (to You) אֶתְפַּלָּֽל׃ (I pray).

3  יְֽהוָ֗ה (O YHWH), בֹּ֭קֶר (in the morning) תִּשְׁמַ֣ע (You hear) קוֹלִ֑י (my voice),

בֹּ֥קֶר (in the morning) אֶֽעֱרָךְ־ (I direct it) לְ֝ךָ֗ (to You),

וַאֲצַפֶּֽה׃ (and I keep watch).

4  כִּ֤י׀ (For) לֹ֤א (not) אֵֽל־ (a God) חָפֵ֘ץ (delighting in) רֶ֥שַׁע׀ (wickedness) אָ֑תָּה (are You);

לֹ֖א (not) יְגֻרְךָ֣ (sojourn with You) רָֽע׃ (evil).

5  לֹֽא־ (Not) יִתְיַצְּב֣וּ (stand) הֽ֭וֹלְלִים (the one boasting) לְנֶ֣גֶד (in) עֵינֶ֑יךָ (Your sight);

שָׂ֝נֵ֗אתָ (You hate) כָּל־ (all) פֹּ֥עֲלֵי (workers) אָֽוֶן׃ (of iniquity).

6  תְּאַבֵּד֮ (You will destroy) דֹּבְרֵ֪י (those speaking) כָ֫זָ֥ב (falsehood);

אִישׁ־ (a man) דָּמִ֥ים (of blood) וּמִרְמָ֗ה (and deceit) יְתָ֘עֵ֥ב׀ (abhors) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).

7  וַאֲנִ֗י (And I), בְּרֹ֣ב (in the abundance) חַ֭סְדְּךָ (of Your loving devotion),

אָב֣וֹא (will come) בֵיתֶ֑ךָ (into Your house).

אֶשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֥ה (I will bow down) אֶל־ (toward) הֵֽיכַל־ (the temple) קָ֝דְשְׁךָ֗ (of Your Holiness)

בְּיִרְאָתֶֽךָ׃ (in fear of You).

8  יְהוָ֤ה׀ (O YHWH), נְחֵ֬נִי (guide me) בְצִדְקָתֶ֗ךָ (in Your righteousness)

לְמַ֥עַן (on account) שׁוֹרְרָ֑י (of my enemies);

הוֹשַׁר (make straight) לְפָנַ֣י (before my face) דַּרְכֶּֽךָ׃ (Your path).

9  כִּ֤י (For) אֵ֪ין (there is no) בְּפִ֡יהוּ (in his mouth) נְכוֹנָה֮ (firmness);

קִרְבָּ֪ם (within them) הַ֫וּ֥וֹת (is destruction);

קֶֽבֶר־ (a grave) פָּת֥וּחַ (being wide open) גְּרוֹנָ֑ם (is their throat);

לְ֝שׁוֹנָ֗ם (their tongue) יַחֲלִֽיקוּן׃ (they make smooth).

10  הַֽאֲשִׁימֵ֨ם׀ (Declare them guilty), אֱ‍ֽלֹהִ֗ים (O God);

יִפְּלוּ֮ (let them fall) מִֽמֹּעֲצ֪וֹתֵ֫יהֶ֥ם (by their own devices);

בְּרֹ֣ב (in the abundance) פִּ֭שְׁעֵיהֶם (of their transgressions) הַדִּיחֵ֑מוֹ (drive them away),

כִּי־ (for) מָ֥רוּ (they have rebelled) בָֽךְ׃ (against You).

11  וְיִשְׂמְח֨וּ (And let them rejoice) כָל־ (all) ח֪וֹסֵי (those taking refuge) בָ֡ךְ (in You). לְעוֹלָ֣ם (Forever)

יְ֭רַנֵּנוּ (let them shout for joy),

וְתָסֵ֣ךְ (and may You cover) עָלֵ֑ימוֹ (them over).

וְֽיַעְלְצ֥וּ (And let them exult) בְ֝ךָ֗ (in You) אֹהֲבֵ֥י (those loving) שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ (Your name).

12  כִּֽי־ (For) אַתָּה֮ (You) תְּבָרֵ֪ךְ (will bless) צַ֫דִּ֥יק (the righteous one), יְהוָ֑ה (O YHWH),

כַּ֝צִּנָּ֗ה (as a shield) רָצ֥וֹן (with favor) תַּעְטְרֶֽנּוּ׃ (You will surround him).
