The Mountain of the House of Yahweh
(Isaiah 2:1–4)

1  וְהָיָ֣ה׀ (And it will come to pass), בְּאַחֲרִ֣ית (at the end) הַיָּמִ֗ים (of the days) יִ֠הְיֶה (that will be) הַ֣ר (the mountain) בֵּית־ (of the house)

יְהוָ֤ה (of YHWH) נָכוֹן֙ (established) בְּרֹ֣אשׁ (on the top) הֶהָרִ֔ים (of the mountains),

וְנִשָּׂ֥א (and will be exalted) ה֖וּא (it) מִגְּבָע֑וֹת (above the hills);

וְנָהֲר֥וּ (and will flow) עָלָ֖יו (to it) עַמִּֽים׃ (the peoples).

2  וְֽהָלְכ֞וּ (And will come), גּוֹיִ֣ם (nations) רַבִּ֗ים (many) וְאָֽמְרוּ֙ (and say),

לְכ֣וּ׀ (Come), וְנַעֲלֶ֣ה (and let us go up) אֶל־ (to) הַר־ (the mountain) יְהוָ֗ה (of YHWH)

וְאֶל־ (and to) בֵּית֙ (the house) אֱלֹהֵ֣י (of the God) יַעֲקֹ֔ב (of Jacob);

וְיוֹרֵ֙נוּ֙ (and He will instruct us) מִדְּרָכָ֔יו (of His ways),

וְנֵלְכָ֖ה (and we will walk) בְּאֹֽרְחֹתָ֑יו (in His paths).

כִּ֤י (For) מִצִּיּוֹן֙ (from Zion) תֵּצֵ֣א (will go forth) תוֹרָ֔ה (the law)

וּדְבַר־ (and the word) יְהוָ֖ה (of YHWH) מִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ (from Jerusalem).

3  וְשָׁפַ֗ט (And He will judge) בֵּ֚ין (between) עַמִּ֣ים (peoples), רַבִּ֔ים (many)

וְהוֹכִ֛יחַ (and He will decide) לְגוֹיִ֥ם (to nations) עֲצֻמִ֖ים (strong) עַד־ (even for) רָח֑וֹק (those far off);

וְכִתְּת֨וּ (and they will beat) חַרְבֹתֵיהֶ֜ם (their swords) לְאִתִּ֗ים (into plowshares),

וַחֲנִיתֹֽתֵיהֶם֙ (and their spears) לְמַזְמֵר֔וֹת (into pruning hooks);

לֹֽא־ (not) יִשְׂא֞וּ (will lift up) גּ֤וֹי (nation) אֶל־ (against) גּוֹי֙ (nation), חֶ֔רֶב (a sword)

וְלֹא־ (and not) יִלְמְד֥וּן (will they learn) ע֖וֹד (anymore) מִלְחָמָֽה׃ (war).

4  וְיָשְׁב֗וּ (And will sit) אִ֣ישׁ (each man) תַּ֧חַת (under) גַּפְנ֛וֹ (his own vine)

וְתַ֥חַת (and under) תְּאֵנָת֖וֹ (his own fig tree);

וְאֵ֣ין (and there will not be) מַחֲרִ֑יד (one making them afraid);

כִּי־ (for) פִ֛י (the mouth) יְהוָ֥ה (of YHWH) צְבָא֖וֹת (of Hosts) דִּבֵּֽר׃ (has spoken).

5  כִּ֚י (For) כָּל־ (all) הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים (the peoples) יֵלְכ֕וּ (walk)

אִ֖ישׁ (each man) בְּשֵׁ֣ם (in the name) אֱלֹהָ֑יו (of his god),

וַאֲנַ֗חְנוּ (and we) נֵלֵ֛ךְ (will walk) בְּשֵׁם־ (in the name) יְהוָ֥ה (of YHWH) אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ (our God)

לְעוֹלָ֥ם (forever) וָעֶֽד׃פ (and ever).

The Restoration of Zion
(Zechariah 8:1–23)

6  בַּיּ֨וֹם (On the day), הַה֜וּא (that) נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֗ה (of YHWH),

אֹֽסְפָה֙ (I will gather) הַצֹּ֣לֵעָ֔ה (the lame),

וְהַנִּדָּחָ֖ה (and the outcast), אֲקַבֵּ֑צָה (I will assemble)

וַאֲשֶׁ֖ר (even those whom) הֲרֵעֹֽתִי׃ (I have afflicted);

7  וְשַׂמְתִּ֤י (and I will set) אֶת־ (-) הַצֹּֽלֵעָה֙ (the lame) לִשְׁאֵרִ֔ית (as a remnant),

וְהַנַּהֲלָאָ֖ה (and those cast out) לְג֣וֹי (as a nation), עָצ֑וּם (strong)

וּמָלַ֨ךְ (and will reign) יְהוָ֤ה (YHWH) עֲלֵיהֶם֙ (over them) בְּהַ֣ר (on Mount) צִיּ֔וֹן (Zion)

מֵעַתָּ֖ה (from now), וְעַד־ (and even to) עוֹלָֽם׃פ (forever).

8  וְאַתָּ֣ה (And you), מִגְדַּל־ (Migdal-) עֵ֗דֶר (eder),

עֹ֛פֶל (O citadel) בַּת־ (of the daughter) צִיּ֖וֹן (of Zion),

עָדֶ֣יךָ (to you) תֵּאתֶ֑ה (it will come),

וּבָאָ֗ה (and will come) הַמֶּמְשָׁלָה֙ (the dominion); הָרִ֣אשֹׁנָ֔ה (former)

מַמְלֶ֖כֶת (the kingdom) לְבַ֥ת־ (to the Daughter) יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ (of Jerusalem).

9  עַתָּ֕ה (Now) לָ֥מָּה (why) תָרִ֖יעִי (do you shout) רֵ֑עַ (with shouting)?

הֲמֶ֣לֶךְ (King) אֵֽין־ (is there no) בָּ֗ךְ (among you)

אִֽם־ (Or) יוֹעֲצֵךְ֙ (your counselor) אָבָ֔ד (has perished)?

כִּֽי־ (That) הֶחֱזִיקֵ֥ךְ (has gripped you) חִ֖יל (anguish) כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה׃ (like a woman in labor).

10  ח֧וּלִי (Writhe), וָגֹ֛חִי (and bring forth), בַּת־ (O daughter) צִיּ֖וֹן (of Zion),

כַּיּֽוֹלֵדָ֑ה (like a woman in labor);

כִּֽי־ (for) עַתָּה֩ (now) תֵצְאִ֨י (you will go forth) מִקִּרְיָ֜ה (from the city),

וְשָׁכַ֣נְתְּ (and you will dwell) בַּשָּׂדֶ֗ה (in the field),

וּבָ֤את (and you will go) עַד־ (to) בָּבֶל֙ (Babylon);

שָׁ֣ם (there) תִּנָּצֵ֔לִי (you will be delivered);

שָׁ֚ם (there) יִגְאָלֵ֣ךְ (will redeem you) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH)

מִכַּ֖ף (from the hand) אֹיְבָֽיִךְ׃ (of your enemies).

11  וְעַתָּ֛ה (And now) נֶאֶסְפ֥וּ (are gathered) עָלַ֖יִךְ (against you) גּוֹיִ֣ם (nations) רַבִּ֑ים (many)

הָאֹמְרִ֣ים (those saying), תֶּחֱנָ֔ף (Let her be defiled),

וְתַ֥חַז (and let gaze) בְּצִיּ֖וֹן (upon Zion) עֵינֵֽינוּ׃ (our eyes).

12  וְהֵ֗מָּה (And they) לֹ֤א (not) יָֽדְעוּ֙ (do know) מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת (the thoughts) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH),

וְלֹ֥א (and not) הֵבִ֖ינוּ (do they understand) עֲצָת֑וֹ (His counsel);

כִּ֥י (how) קִבְּצָ֖ם (He gathers them)

כֶּעָמִ֥יר (like sheaves) גֹּֽרְנָה׃ (to the threshing floor).

13  ק֧וּמִי (Arise) וָד֣וֹשִׁי (and thresh), בַת־ (O daughter) צִיּ֗וֹן (of Zion),

כִּֽי־ (for) קַרְנֵ֞ךְ (your horn) אָשִׂ֤ים (I will set) בַּרְזֶל֙ (as iron),

וּפַרְסֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ (and your hooves) אָשִׂ֣ים (I will set) נְחוּשָׁ֔ה (as bronze),

וַהֲדִקּ֖וֹת (and you will crush) עַמִּ֣ים (peoples), רַבִּ֑ים (many)

וְהַחֲרַמְתִּ֤י (and you will devote) לַֽיהוָה֙ (to YHWH), בִּצְעָ֔ם (their gain)

וְחֵילָ֖ם (and their wealth) לַאֲד֥וֹן (to the Lord) כָּל־ (of all) הָאָֽרֶץ׃ (the earth).
