Berean Study BibleNew Living Translation
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the Law of the LORD.1Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD.
Blessed are those who keep His testimonies and seek Him with all their heart.2Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.
They do no iniquity; they walk in His ways.3They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.
You have ordained Your precepts, that we should keep them diligently.4You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully.
Oh, that my ways were committed to keeping Your statutes!5Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!
Then I would not be ashamed when I consider all Your commandments.6Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.
I will praise You with an upright heart when I learn Your righteous judgments.7As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!
I will keep Your statutes; do not utterly forsake me.8I will obey your decrees. Please don’t give up on me! Beth
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word.9How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me stray from Your commandments.10I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands.
I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.11I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Blessed are You, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.12I praise you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.
With my lips I proclaim all the judgments of Your mouth.13I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us.
I rejoice in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches.14I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches.
I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways.15I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.
I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.16I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word. Gimel
Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word.17Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.
Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from Your law.18Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.
I am a stranger on the earth; do not hide Your commandments from me.19I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me!
My soul is consumed with longing for Your judgments at all times.20I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations.
You rebuke the arrogant—the cursed who stray from Your commandments.21You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed.
Remove my scorn and contempt, for I have kept Your testimonies.22Don’t let them scorn and insult me, for I have obeyed your laws.
Though rulers sit and slander me, Your servant meditates on Your statutes.23Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees.
Your testimonies are indeed my delight; they are my counselors.24Your laws please me; they give me wise advice. Daleth
My soul cleaves to the dust; revive me according to Your word.25I lie in the dust; revive me by your word.
I recounted my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your statutes.26I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees.
Make clear to me the way of Your precepts; then I will meditate on Your wonders.27Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.
My soul melts with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your word.28I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word.
Remove me from the path of deceit and graciously grant me Your law.29Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.
I have chosen the way of truth; I have set Your ordinances before me.30I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.
I cling to Your testimonies, O LORD; let me not be put to shame.31I cling to your laws. LORD, don’t let me be put to shame!
I run in the path of Your commandments, for You will enlarge my heart.32I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding. He
Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep them to the end.33Teach me your decrees, O LORD; I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding that I may obey Your law, and follow it with all my heart.34Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart.
Direct me in the path of Your commandments, for there I find delight.35Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.
Turn my heart to Your testimonies and not to covetous gain.36Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!
Turn my eyes away from worthless things; revive me with Your word.37Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
Establish Your word to Your servant, to produce reverence for You.38Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you.
Turn away the disgrace I dread, for Your judgments are good.39Help me abandon my shameful ways; for your regulations are good.
How I long for Your precepts! Revive me in Your righteousness.40I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness. Waw
May Your loving devotion come to me, O LORD, Your salvation, according to Your promise.41LORD, give me your unfailing love, the salvation that you promised me.
Then I can answer him who taunts, for I trust in Your word.42Then I can answer those who taunt me, for I trust in your word.
Never take Your word of truth from my mouth, for I hope in Your judgments.43Do not snatch your word of truth from me, for your regulations are my only hope.
I will always obey Your law, forever and ever.44I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever.
And I will walk in freedom, for I have sought Your precepts.45I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.
I will speak of Your testimonies before kings, and I will not be ashamed.46I will speak to kings about your laws, and I will not be ashamed.
I delight in Your commandments because I love them.47How I delight in your commands! How I love them!
I lift up my hands to Your commandments, which I love, and I meditate on Your statutes.48I honor and love your commands. I meditate on your decrees. Zayin
Remember Your word to Your servant, upon which You have given me hope.49Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.
This is my comfort in affliction, that Your promise has given me life.50Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.
The arrogant utterly deride me, but I do not turn from Your law.51The proud hold me in utter contempt, but I do not turn away from your instructions.
I remember Your judgments of old, O LORD, and in them I find comfort.52I meditate on your age-old regulations; O LORD, they comfort me.
Rage has taken hold of me because of the wicked who reject Your law.53I become furious with the wicked, because they reject your instructions.
Your statutes are songs to me in the house of my pilgrimage.54Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.
In the night, O LORD, I remember Your name, that I may keep Your law.55I reflect at night on who you are, O LORD; therefore, I obey your instructions.
This is my practice, for I obey Your precepts.56This is how I spend my life: obeying your commandments. Heth
The LORD is my portion; I have promised to keep Your words.57LORD, you are mine! I promise to obey your words!
I have sought Your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to Your promise.58With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised.
I considered my ways and turned my steps to Your testimonies.59I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws.
I hurried without hesitating to keep Your commandments.60I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.
Though the ropes of the wicked bind me, I do not forget Your law.61Evil people try to drag me into sin, but I am firmly anchored to your instructions.
At midnight I rise to give You thanks for Your righteous judgments.62I rise at midnight to thank you for your just regulations.
I am a friend to all who fear You, and to those who keep Your precepts.63I am a friend to anyone who fears you— anyone who obeys your commandments.
The earth is filled with Your loving devotion, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.64O LORD, your unfailing love fills the earth; teach me your decrees. Teth
You are good to Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.65You have done many good things for me, LORD, just as you promised.
Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.66I believe in your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge.
Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I keep Your word.67I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.
You are good, and You do what is good; teach me Your statutes.68You are good and do only good; teach me your decrees.
Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep Your precepts with all my heart.69Arrogant people smear me with lies, but in truth I obey your commandments with all my heart.
Their hearts are hard and callous, but I delight in Your law.70Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.
It was good for me to be afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.71My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.
The law from Your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.72Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver. Yodh
Your hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding to learn Your commandments.73You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands.
May those who fear You see me and rejoice, for I have hoped in Your word.74May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in your word.
I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.75I know, O LORD, that your regulations are fair; you disciplined me because I needed it.
May Your loving devotion comfort me, I pray, according to Your promise to Your servant.76Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.
May Your compassion come to me, that I may live, for Your law is my delight.77Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.
May the arrogant be put to shame for subverting me with a lie; I will meditate on Your precepts.78Bring disgrace upon the arrogant people who lied about me; meanwhile, I will concentrate on your commandments.
May those who fear You turn to me, those who know Your testimonies.79Let me be united with all who fear you, with those who know your laws.
May my heart be blameless in Your statutes, that I may not be put to shame.80May I be blameless in keeping your decrees; then I will never be ashamed. Kaph
My soul faints for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.81I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.
My eyes fail, looking for Your promise; I ask, “When will You comfort me?”82My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me?
Though I am like a wineskin dried up by smoke, I do not forget Your statutes.83I am shriveled like a wineskin in the smoke, but I have not forgotten to obey your decrees.
How many days must Your servant wait? When will You execute judgment on my persecutors?84How long must I wait? When will you punish those who persecute me?
The arrogant have dug pits for me in violation of Your law.85These arrogant people who hate your instructions have dug deep pits to trap me.
All Your commandments are faithful; I am persecuted without cause—help me!86All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause.
They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken Your precepts.87They almost finished me off, but I refused to abandon your commandments.
Revive me according to Your loving devotion, that I may obey the testimony of Your mouth.88In your unfailing love, spare my life; then I can continue to obey your laws. Lamedh
Your word, O LORD, is everlasting; it is firmly fixed in the heavens.89Your eternal word, O LORD, stands firm in heaven.

Your ordinances stand to this day, for all things are servants to You.91Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans.
If Your law had not been my delight, then I would have perished in my affliction.92If your instructions hadn’t sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery.
I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have revived me.93I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.
I am Yours; save me, for I have sought Your precepts.94I am yours; rescue me! For I have worked hard at obeying your commandments.
The wicked wait to destroy me, but I will ponder Your testimonies.95Though the wicked hide along the way to kill me, I will quietly keep my mind on your laws.
I have seen a limit to all perfection, but Your commandment is without limit.96Even perfection has its limits, but your commands have no limit. Mem
Oh, how I love Your law! All day long it is my meditation.97Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.

I have more insight than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.99Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.
I discern more than the elders, for I obey Your precepts.100I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.
I have kept my feet from every evil path, that I may keep Your word.101I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word.
I have not departed from Your ordinances, for You Yourself have taught me.102I haven’t turned away from your regulations, for you have taught me well.
How sweet are Your words to my taste—sweeter than honey in my mouth!103How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.
I gain understanding from Your precepts; therefore I hate every false way.104Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. Nun
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.105Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments.106I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.
I am severely afflicted, O LORD; revive me through Your word.107I have suffered much, O LORD; restore my life again as you promised.
Accept the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me Your judgments.108LORD, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations.
I constantly take my life in my hands, yet I do not forget Your law.109My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.
The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from Your precepts.110The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments.
Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.111Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.
I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes, even to the very end.112I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end. Samekh
The double-minded I despise, but Your law I love.113I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions.
You are my hiding place and my shield; I put my hope in Your word.114You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.
Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may obey the commandments of my God.115Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God.
Sustain me as You promised, that I may live; let me not be ashamed of my hope.116LORD, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed.
Uphold me, and I will be saved, that I may always regard Your statutes.117Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees.
You reject all who stray from Your statutes, for their deceitfulness is in vain.118But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves.
All the wicked on earth You discard like dross; therefore I love Your testimonies.119You skim off the wicked of the earth like scum; no wonder I love to obey your laws!
My flesh trembles in awe of You; I stand in fear of Your judgments.120I tremble in fear of you; I stand in awe of your regulations. Ayin
I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors.121Don’t leave me to the mercy of my enemies, for I have done what is just and right.
Ensure Your servant’s well-being; do not let the arrogant oppress me.122Please guarantee a blessing for me. Don’t let the arrogant oppress me!
My eyes fail, looking for Your salvation, and for Your righteous promise.123My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled.
Deal with Your servant according to Your loving devotion, and teach me Your statutes.124I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees.
I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies.125Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.
It is time for the LORD to act, for they have broken Your law.126LORD, it is time for you to act, for these evil people have violated your instructions.
Therefore I love Your commandments more than gold, even the purest gold.127Truly, I love your commands more than gold, even the finest gold.
Therefore I admire all Your precepts and hate every false way.128Each of your commandments is right. That is why I hate every false way. Pe
Wonderful are Your testimonies; therefore I obey them.129Your laws are wonderful. No wonder I obey them!
The unfolding of Your words gives light; it informs the simple.130The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.
I open my mouth and pant, longing for Your commandments.131I pant with expectation, longing for your commands.
Turn to me and show me mercy, as You do to those who love Your name.132Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name.

The testimonies You have laid down are righteous and altogether faithful.138Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy.
My zeal has consumed me because my foes forget Your words.139I am overwhelmed with indignation, for my enemies have disregarded your words.
Your promise is completely pure; therefore Your servant loves it.140Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.
I am lowly and despised, but I do not forget Your precepts.141I am insignificant and despised, but I don’t forget your commandments.
Your righteousness is everlasting and Your law is true.142Your justice is eternal, and your instructions are perfectly true.
Trouble and distress have found me, but Your commandments are my delight.143As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.

Those who follow after wickedness draw near; they are far from Your law.150Lawless people are coming to attack me; they live far from your instructions.
You are near, O LORD, and all Your commandments are true.151But you are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true.
Long ago I learned from Your testimonies that You have established them forever.152I have known from my earliest days that your laws will last forever. Resh
Look upon my affliction and rescue me, for I have not forgotten Your law.153Look upon my suffering and rescue me, for I have not forgotten your instructions.
Defend my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word.154Argue my case; take my side! Protect my life as you promised.
Salvation is far from the wicked because they do not seek Your statutes.155The wicked are far from rescue, for they do not bother with your decrees.
Great are Your mercies, O LORD; revive me according to Your ordinances.156LORD, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by following your regulations.
Though my persecutors and foes are many, I have not turned from Your testimonies.157Many persecute and trouble me, yet I have not swerved from your laws.
I look on the faithless with loathing because they do not keep Your word.158Seeing these traitors makes me sick at heart, because they care nothing for your word.

My lips pour forth praise, for You teach me Your statutes.171Let praise flow from my lips, for you have taught me your decrees.
My tongue sings of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteous.172Let my tongue sing about your word, for all your commands are right.
May Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.173Give me a helping hand, for I have chosen to follow your commandments.
I long for Your salvation, O LORD, and Your law is my delight.174O LORD, I have longed for your rescue, and your instructions are my delight.
Let me live to praise You; may Your judgments sustain me.175Let me live so I can praise you, and may your regulations help me.
