How blessed are those whose life is blameless, who walk in the Law of the LORD! | 1How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, who obey the law of the LORD. |
How blessed are those who observe his decrees, who seek him with all of their heart, | 2How blessed are those who observe his rules, and seek him with all their heart, |
who practice no evil while they walk in his ways. | 3who, moreover, do no wrong, but follow in his footsteps. |
You have commanded concerning your precepts, that they be guarded with diligence. | 4You demand that your precepts be carefully kept. |
Oh, that my ways were steadfast, so I may keep your statutes. | 5If only I were predisposed to keep your statutes! |
Then I will not be ashamed, since my eyes will be fixed on all of your commands. | 6Then I would not be ashamed, if I were focused on all your commands. |
I will praise you with an upright heart, as I learn your righteous decrees. | 7I will give you sincere thanks, when I learn your just regulations. |
I will keep your statutes; do not ever abandon me. | 8I will keep your statutes. Do not completely abandon me! |
How can a young man keep his behavior pure? By guarding it in accordance with your word. | 9How can a young person maintain a pure life? By guarding it according to your instructions! |
I have sought you with all of my heart; do not let me drift away from your commands. | 10With all my heart I seek you. Do not allow me to stray from your commands! |
I have stored what you have said in my heart, so I won't sin against you. | 11In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you. |
Blessed are you, LORD! Teach me your statutes. | 12You deserve praise, O LORD! Teach me your statutes! |

Deal kindly with your servant so I may live and keep your word. | 17Be kind to your servant! Then I will live and keep your instructions. |
Open my eyes so that I will observe amazing things from your instruction. | 18Open my eyes so I can truly see the marvelous things in your law! |
Since I am a stranger on the earth, do not hide your commands from me. | 19I am like a foreigner in this land. Do not hide your commands from me! |
My soul is consumed with longing for your decrees at all times. | 20I desperately long to know your regulations at all times. |
You rebuke the accursed ones, who wander from your commands. | 21You reprimand arrogant people. Those who stray from your commands are doomed. |
Remove scorn and disrespect from me, for I observe your decrees. | 22Spare me shame and humiliation, for I observe your rules. |
Though nobles take their seat and gossip about me, your servant will meditate on your statutes. | 23Though rulers plot and slander me, your servant meditates on your statutes. |
I take joy in your decrees, for they are my counselors. | 24Yes, I find delight in your rules; they give me guidance. |
My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to your word. | 25I collapse in the dirt. Revive me with your word! |
I have talked about my ways, and you have answered me; Teach me your statutes. | 26I told you about my ways and you answered me. Teach me your statutes! |
Help me understand how your precepts function, and I will meditate on your wondrous acts. | 27Help me to understand what your precepts mean! Then I can meditate on your marvelous teachings. |
I weep because of sorrow; fortify me according to your word. | 28I collapse from grief. Sustain me by your word! |
Remove false paths from me; and graciously give me your instruction. | 29Remove me from the path of deceit! Graciously give me your law! |
I have chosen the faithful way; I have firmly placed your ordinances before me. | 30I choose the path of faithfulness; I am committed to your regulations. |
I cling to your decrees; LORD, do not put me to shame. | 31I hold fast to your rules. O LORD, do not let me be ashamed! |
I eagerly race along the way of your commands, for you enable me to do so. | 32I run along the path of your commands, for you enable me to do so. |
Teach me, LORD, about the way of your statutes, and I will observe them without fail. | 33Teach me, O LORD, the lifestyle prescribed by your statutes, so that I might observe it continually. |
Give me understanding and I will observe your instruction. I will keep it with all of my heart. | 34Give me understanding so that I might observe your law, and keep it with all my heart. |

Confirm your promise to your servant, which is for those who fear you. | 38Confirm to your servant your promise, which you made to the one who honors you. |
Turn away the shame that I dread, because your ordinances are good. | 39Take away the insults that I dread! Indeed, your regulations are good. |

May your gracious love come to me, LORD, your salvation, just as you said. | 41May I experience your loyal love, O LORD, and your deliverance, as you promised. |
Then I can answer the one who insults me, for I place my trust in your word. | 42Then I will have a reply for the one who insults me, for I trust in your word. |
Never take your truthful words from me, For I wait for your ordinances. | 43Do not completely deprive me of a truthful testimony, for I await your justice. |
Then I will always keep your Law, forever and ever, | 44Then I will keep your law continually now and for all time. |
I will walk in liberty, for I seek your precepts. | 45I will be secure, for I seek your precepts. |
Then I will speak of your decrees before kings and not be ashamed. | 46I will speak about your regulations before kings and not be ashamed. |

This is what comforts me in my troubles: that what you say revives me. | 50This is what comforts me in my trouble, for your promise revives me. |
Even though the arrogant utterly deride me, I do not turn away from your instruction. | 51Arrogant people do nothing but scoff at me. Yet I do not turn aside from your law. |
I have remembered your ancient ordinances, LORD, and I take comfort in them. | 52I remember your ancient regulations, O LORD, and console myself. |
I burn with indignation because of the wicked who forsake your instruction. | 53Rage takes hold of me because of the wicked, those who reject your law. |
Your statutes are my songs, no matter where I make my home. | 54Your statutes have been my songs in the house where I live. |
In the night I remember your name, LORD, and keep your instruction. | 55I remember your name during the night, O LORD, and I will keep your law. |
I have made it my personal responsibility to keep your precepts. | 56This has been my practice, for I observe your precepts. |
The LORD is my inheritance; I have given my promise to keep your word. | 57The LORD is my source of security. I have determined to follow your instructions. |

I hurried and did not procrastinate to keep your commands. | 60I keep your commands eagerly and without delay. |
Though the ropes of the wicked have ensnared me, I have not forgotten your instruction. | 61The ropes of the wicked tighten around me, but I do not forget your law. |
At midnight I will get up to thank you for your righteous ordinances. | 62In the middle of the night I arise to thank you for your just regulations. |
I am united with all who fear you, and with everyone who keeps your precepts. | 63I am a friend to all your loyal followers, and to those who keep your precepts. |
LORD, the earth overflows with your gracious love! Teach me your statutes. | 64O LORD, your loyal love fills the earth. Teach me your statutes! |
LORD, you have dealt well with your servant, according to your word. | 65You are good to your servant, O LORD, just as you promised. |
Teach me both knowledge and appropriate discretion, because I believe in your commands. | 66Teach me proper discernment and understanding! For I consider your commands to be reliable. |
Before I was humbled, I wandered away, but now I observe your words. | 67Before I was afflicted I used to stray off, but now I keep your instructions. |

The arrogant have accused me falsely; but I will observe your precepts wholeheartedly. | 69Arrogant people smear my reputation with lies, but I observe your precepts with all my heart. |
Their minds are clogged as with greasy fat, but I find joy in your instruction. | 70Their hearts are calloused, but I find delight in your law. |
It was for my good that I was humbled; so that I would learn your statutes. | 71It was good for me to suffer, so that I might learn your statutes. |
Instruction that comes from you is better for me than thousands of gold and silver coins. | 72The law you have revealed is more important to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. |
Your hands made and formed me; give me understanding, that I may learn your commands. | 73Your hands made me and formed me. Give me understanding so that I might learn your commands. |
May those who fear you see me and be glad, for I have hoped in your word. | 74Your loyal followers will be glad when they see me, for I find hope in your word. |
I know, LORD, that your decrees are just, and that you have rightfully humbled me. | 75I know, LORD, that your regulations are just. You disciplined me because of your faithful devotion to me. |
May your gracious love comfort me in accordance with your promise to your servant. | 76May your loyal love console me, as you promised your servant. |
May your mercies come to me that I may live, for your instruction is my delight. | 77May I experience your compassion, so I might live! For I find delight in your law. |

My eyes grow weary with respect to what you have promised— I keep asking, "When will you comfort me?" | 82My eyes grow tired as I wait for your promise to be fulfilled. I say, "When will you comfort me?" |
Though I have become like a water skin dried by smoke, I have not forgotten your statutes. | 83For I am like a wineskin dried up in smoke. I do not forget your statutes. |
How many days must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who persecute me? | 84How long must your servant endure this? When will you judge those who pursue me? |
The arrogant have dug pitfalls for me disobeying your instruction. | 85The arrogant dig pits to trap me, which violates your law. |
All of your commands are reliable. I am persecuted without cause—help me! | 86All your commands are reliable. I am pursued without reason. Help me! |

To this day they stand by means of your rulings, for all things serve you. | 91Today they stand firm by your decrees, for all things are your servants. |
Had your instruction not been my pleasure, I would have died in my affliction. | 92If I had not found encouragement in your law, I would have died in my sorrow. |
I will never forget your precepts, for you have revived me with them. | 93I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have revived me. |

I do not avoid your judgments, for you pointed them out to me. | 102I do not turn aside from your regulations, for you teach me. |
How pleasing is what you have to say to me— tasting better than honey. | 103Your words are sweeter in my mouth than honey! |
I obtain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every false way. | 104Your precepts give me discernment. Therefore I hate all deceitful actions. |
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my pathway. | 105Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path. |
I have given my word and affirmed it, to keep your righteous judgments. | 106I have vowed and solemnly sworn to keep your just regulations. |
I am severely afflicted. Revive me, LORD, according to your word. | 107I am suffering terribly. O LORD, revive me with your word! |
LORD, please accept my voluntary offerings of praise, and teach me your judgments. | 108O LORD, please accept the freewill offerings of my praise! Teach me your regulations! |
Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I do not forget your instruction. | 109My life is in continual danger, but I do not forget your law. |

Leave me, you who practice evil, that I may observe the commands of my God. | 115Turn away from me, you evil men, so that I can observe the commands of my God. |
Sustain me, God, as you have promised, and I will live. Do not let me be ashamed of my hope. | 116Sustain me as you promised, so that I will live. Do not disappoint me! |
Support me, that I may be saved, and I will carry out your statutes consistently. | 117Support me, so that I will be delivered. Then I will focus on your statutes continually. |
You reject all who wander from your statutes, since their deceitfulness is vain. | 118You despise all who stray from your statutes, for they are deceptive and unreliable. |
