1Aleph. How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the LORD.1Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD.
2How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart.2Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.
3They also do no unrighteousness; They walk in His ways.3They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.
4You have ordained Your precepts, That we should keep them diligently.4You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully.
5Oh that my ways may be established To keep Your statutes!5Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!
6Then I shall not be ashamed When I look upon all Your commandments.6Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.
7I shall give thanks to You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.7As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!
8I shall keep Your statutes; Do not forsake me utterly! Beth.8I will obey your decrees. Please don’t give up on me! Beth
9How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.9How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
10With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments.10I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands.
11Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.11I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
12Blessed are You, O LORD; Teach me Your statutes.12I praise you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.
13With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Your mouth.13I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us.
14I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.14I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches.
15I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways.15I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.

17Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word.17Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.
18Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law.18Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.
19I am a stranger in the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me.19I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me!
20My soul is crushed with longing After Your ordinances at all times.20I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations.
21You rebuke the arrogant, the cursed, Who wander from Your commandments.21You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed.
22Take away reproach and contempt from me, For I observe Your testimonies.22Don’t let them scorn and insult me, for I have obeyed your laws.
23Even though princes sit and talk against me, Your servant meditates on Your statutes.23Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees.
24Your testimonies also are my delight; They are my counselors. Daleth.24Your laws please me; they give me wise advice. Daleth
25My soul cleaves to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.25I lie in the dust; revive me by your word.
26I have told of my ways, and You have answered me; Teach me Your statutes.26I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees.
27Make me understand the way of Your precepts, So I will meditate on Your wonders.27Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.
28My soul weeps because of grief; Strengthen me according to Your word.28I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word.
29Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Your law.29Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.
30I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Your ordinances before me.30I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.
31I cling to Your testimonies; O LORD, do not put me to shame!31I cling to your laws. LORD, don’t let me be put to shame!
32I shall run the way of Your commandments, For You will enlarge my heart. He.32I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding. He
33Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, And I shall observe it to the end.33Teach me your decrees, O LORD; I will keep them to the end.
34Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law And keep it with all my heart.34Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart.
35Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.35Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.
36Incline my heart to Your testimonies And not to dishonest gain.36Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!
37Turn away my eyes from looking at vanity, And revive me in Your ways.37Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
38Establish Your word to Your servant, As that which produces reverence for You.38Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you.
39Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your ordinances are good.39Help me abandon my shameful ways; for your regulations are good.
40Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me through Your righteousness. Vav.40I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness. Waw
41May Your lovingkindnesses also come to me, O LORD, Your salvation according to Your word;41LORD, give me your unfailing love, the salvation that you promised me.
42So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, For I trust in Your word.42Then I can answer those who taunt me, for I trust in your word.
43And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, For I wait for Your ordinances.43Do not snatch your word of truth from me, for your regulations are my only hope.
44So I will keep Your law continually, Forever and ever.44I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever.
45And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts.45I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.
46I will also speak of Your testimonies before kings And shall not be ashamed.46I will speak to kings about your laws, and I will not be ashamed.
47I shall delight in Your commandments, Which I love.47How I delight in your commands! How I love them!
48And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments, Which I love; And I will meditate on Your statutes. Zayin.48I honor and love your commands. I meditate on your decrees. Zayin
49Remember the word to Your servant, In which You have made me hope.49Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.
50This is my comfort in my affliction, That Your word has revived me.50Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.
51The arrogant utterly deride me, Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.51The proud hold me in utter contempt, but I do not turn away from your instructions.
52I have remembered Your ordinances from of old, O LORD, And comfort myself.52I meditate on your age-old regulations; O LORD, they comfort me.
53Burning indignation has seized me because of the wicked, Who forsake Your law.53I become furious with the wicked, because they reject your instructions.
54Your statutes are my songs In the house of my pilgrimage.54Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.
55O LORD, I remember Your name in the night, And keep Your law.55I reflect at night on who you are, O LORD; therefore, I obey your instructions.
56This has become mine, That I observe Your precepts. Heth.56This is how I spend my life: obeying your commandments. Heth
57The LORD is my portion; I have promised to keep Your words.57LORD, you are mine! I promise to obey your words!
58I sought Your favor with all my heart; Be gracious to me according to Your word.58With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised.
59I considered my ways And turned my feet to Your testimonies.59I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws.
60I hastened and did not delay To keep Your commandments.60I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.
61The cords of the wicked have encircled me, But I have not forgotten Your law.61Evil people try to drag me into sin, but I am firmly anchored to your instructions.
62At midnight I shall rise to give thanks to You Because of Your righteous ordinances.62I rise at midnight to thank you for your just regulations.
63I am a companion of all those who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts.63I am a friend to anyone who fears you— anyone who obeys your commandments.
64The earth is full of Your lovingkindness, O LORD; Teach me Your statutes. Teth.64O LORD, your unfailing love fills the earth; teach me your decrees. Teth
65You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.65You have done many good things for me, LORD, just as you promised.
66Teach me good discernment and knowledge, For I believe in Your commandments.66I believe in your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge.
67Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word.67I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.
68You are good and do good; Teach me Your statutes.68You are good and do only good; teach me your decrees.
69The arrogant have forged a lie against me; With all my heart I will observe Your precepts.69Arrogant people smear me with lies, but in truth I obey your commandments with all my heart.
70Their heart is covered with fat, But I delight in Your law.70Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.
71It is good for me that I was afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.71My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.
72The law of Your mouth is better to me Than thousands of gold and silver pieces. Yodh.72Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver. Yodh
73Your hands made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.73You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands.
74May those who fear You see me and be glad, Because I wait for Your word.74May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in your word.
75I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are righteous, And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.75I know, O LORD, that your regulations are fair; you disciplined me because I needed it.
76O may Your lovingkindness comfort me, According to Your word to Your servant.76Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.
77May Your compassion come to me that I may live, For Your law is my delight.77Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.
78May the arrogant be ashamed, for they subvert me with a lie; But I shall meditate on Your precepts.78Bring disgrace upon the arrogant people who lied about me; meanwhile, I will concentrate on your commandments.
79May those who fear You turn to me, Even those who know Your testimonies.79Let me be united with all who fear you, with those who know your laws.
80May my heart be blameless in Your statutes, So that I will not be ashamed. Kaph.80May I be blameless in keeping your decrees; then I will never be ashamed. Kaph
81My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.81I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.
82My eyes fail with longing for Your word, While I say, "When will You comfort me?"82My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me?
83Though I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget Your statutes.83I am shriveled like a wineskin in the smoke, but I have not forgotten to obey your decrees.
84How many are the days of Your servant? When will You execute judgment on those who persecute me?84How long must I wait? When will you punish those who persecute me?
85The arrogant have dug pits for me, Men who are not in accord with Your law.85These arrogant people who hate your instructions have dug deep pits to trap me.
86All Your commandments are faithful; They have persecuted me with a lie; help me!86All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause.
87They almost destroyed me on earth, But as for me, I did not forsake Your precepts.87They almost finished me off, but I refused to abandon your commandments.
88Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth. Lamedh.88In your unfailing love, spare my life; then I can continue to obey your laws. Lamedh
89Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.89Your eternal word, O LORD, stands firm in heaven.
90Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands.90Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.
91They stand this day according to Your ordinances, For all things are Your servants.91Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans.
92If Your law had not been my delight, Then I would have perished in my affliction.92If your instructions hadn’t sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery.
93I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have revived me.93I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.
94I am Yours, save me; For I have sought Your precepts.94I am yours; rescue me! For I have worked hard at obeying your commandments.
95The wicked wait for me to destroy me; I shall diligently consider Your testimonies.95Though the wicked hide along the way to kill me, I will quietly keep my mind on your laws.
96I have seen a limit to all perfection; Your commandment is exceedingly broad. Mem.96Even perfection has its limits, but your commands have no limit. Mem
97O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.97Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.
98Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For they are ever mine.98Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.
99I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.99Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.
100I understand more than the aged, Because I have observed Your precepts.100I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.
101I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word.101I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word.
102I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, For You Yourself have taught me.102I haven’t turned away from your regulations, for you have taught me well.
103How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!103How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.
104From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Nun.104Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. Nun
105Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.105Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
106I have sworn and I will confirm it, That I will keep Your righteous ordinances.106I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.
107I am exceedingly afflicted; Revive me, O LORD, according to Your word.107I have suffered much, O LORD; restore my life again as you promised.
108O accept the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, And teach me Your ordinances.108LORD, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations.
109My life is continually in my hand, Yet I do not forget Your law.109My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.
110The wicked have laid a snare for me, Yet I have not gone astray from Your precepts.110The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments.
111I have inherited Your testimonies forever, For they are the joy of my heart.111Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.

113I hate those who are double-minded, But I love Your law.113I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions.
114You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word.114You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.
115Depart from me, evildoers, That I may observe the commandments of my God.115Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God.
116Sustain me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope.116LORD, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed.
117Uphold me that I may be safe, That I may have regard for Your statutes continually.117Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees.
118You have rejected all those who wander from Your statutes, For their deceitfulness is useless.118But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves.
119You have removed all the wicked of the earth like dross; Therefore I love Your testimonies.119You skim off the wicked of the earth like scum; no wonder I love to obey your laws!
120My flesh trembles for fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments. Ayin.120I tremble in fear of you; I stand in awe of your regulations. Ayin
121I have done justice and righteousness; Do not leave me to my oppressors.121Don’t leave me to the mercy of my enemies, for I have done what is just and right.
122Be surety for Your servant for good; Do not let the arrogant oppress me.122Please guarantee a blessing for me. Don’t let the arrogant oppress me!
123My eyes fail with longing for Your salvation And for Your righteous word.123My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled.
124Deal with Your servant according to Your lovingkindness And teach me Your statutes.124I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees.
125I am Your servant; give me understanding, That I may know Your testimonies.125Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.
126It is time for the LORD to act, For they have broken Your law.126LORD, it is time for you to act, for these evil people have violated your instructions.
127Therefore I love Your commandments Above gold, yes, above fine gold.127Truly, I love your commands more than gold, even the finest gold.

132Turn to me and be gracious to me, After Your manner with those who love Your name.132Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name.
133Establish my footsteps in Your word, And do not let any iniquity have dominion over me.133Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.
134Redeem me from the oppression of man, That I may keep Your precepts.134Ransom me from the oppression of evil people; then I can obey your commandments.

139My zeal has consumed me, Because my adversaries have forgotten Your words.139I am overwhelmed with indignation, for my enemies have disregarded your words.
140Your word is very pure, Therefore Your servant loves it.140Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.
141I am small and despised, Yet I do not forget Your precepts.141I am insignificant and despised, but I don’t forget your commandments.
142Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth.142Your justice is eternal, and your instructions are perfectly true.
143Trouble and anguish have come upon me, Yet Your commandments are my delight.143As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.

149Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness; Revive me, O LORD, according to Your ordinances.149In your faithful love, O LORD, hear my cry; let me be revived by following your regulations.
150Those who follow after wickedness draw near; They are far from Your law.150Lawless people are coming to attack me; they live far from your instructions.
151You are near, O LORD, And all Your commandments are truth.151But you are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true.
152Of old I have known from Your testimonies That You have founded them forever. Resh.152I have known from my earliest days that your laws will last forever. Resh
153Look upon my affliction and rescue me, For I do not forget Your law.153Look upon my suffering and rescue me, for I have not forgotten your instructions.
154Plead my cause and redeem me; Revive me according to Your word.154Argue my case; take my side! Protect my life as you promised.
155Salvation is far from the wicked, For they do not seek Your statutes.155The wicked are far from rescue, for they do not bother with your decrees.
156Great are Your mercies, O LORD; Revive me according to Your ordinances.156LORD, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by following your regulations.
157Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, Yet I do not turn aside from Your testimonies.157Many persecute and trouble me, yet I have not swerved from your laws.
158I behold the treacherous and loathe them, Because they do not keep Your word.158Seeing these traitors makes me sick at heart, because they care nothing for your word.
159Consider how I love Your precepts; Revive me, O LORD, according to Your lovingkindness.159See how I love your commandments, LORD. Give back my life because of your unfailing love.
160The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. Shin.160The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever. Shin
161Princes persecute me without cause, But my heart stands in awe of Your words.161Powerful people harass me without cause, but my heart trembles only at your word.
162I rejoice at Your word, As one who finds great spoil.162I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.
163I hate and despise falsehood, But I love Your law.163I hate and abhor all falsehood, but I love your instructions.
164Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous ordinances.164I will praise you seven times a day because all your regulations are just.
