Justice of God

The justice of God is a fundamental attribute of His character, reflecting His righteousness and fairness. Throughout the Bible, God's justice is portrayed as an integral part of His divine nature, ensuring that He governs the universe with equity and impartiality. The Scriptures affirm that God is the ultimate judge who will render to each person according to their deeds.

In the Old Testament, God's justice is evident in His dealings with nations and individuals. Deuteronomy 32:4 declares, "He is the Rock, His work is perfect; all His ways are just. A God of faithfulness without injustice, righteous and upright is He." This verse underscores the perfection and righteousness of God's judgments. The prophets frequently called Israel to repentance, warning of divine justice against sin and idolatry, as seen in Isaiah 61:8, "For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing."

The New Testament continues to emphasize God's justice, particularly in the context of salvation and final judgment. Romans 2:6-8 states, "God 'will repay each one according to his deeds.' To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and anger." This passage highlights the impartiality of God's justice, rewarding righteousness and punishing wickedness.

God's justice is also manifested in the sacrificial work of Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus satisfied the demands of divine justice, offering redemption to humanity. Romans 3:25-26 explains, "God presented Him as the atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus."

Protection of God

God's protection is a recurring theme in the Bible, providing comfort and assurance to believers. The Scriptures depict God as a refuge and fortress for those who trust in Him, offering safety and deliverance from harm.

In the Psalms, God's protective nature is vividly described. Psalm 91:1-2 proclaims, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" This imagery of God as a shelter and fortress conveys His ability to shield His people from danger and adversity.

The Old Testament narratives often illustrate God's protection over His chosen people. In Exodus, God delivers the Israelites from Egyptian bondage, guiding them safely through the Red Sea. Exodus 14:13-14 records Moses' assurance to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the LORD's salvation, which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."

In the New Testament, Jesus reassures His followers of God's protective care. In John 10:28-29, Jesus declares, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father's hand." This promise emphasizes the security and protection believers have in Christ.

The apostle Paul also speaks of God's protection in spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:10-11 urges believers to "be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes." This passage highlights the divine resources available to Christians to withstand spiritual attacks.
