In Jeremiah 11:18-23, God revealed a conspiracy against Jeremiah, allowing him to take precautions. Despite the hostility, God assured Jeremiah of His protection, saying, "I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and daughters by famine" (Jeremiah 11:22). This divine promise underscored God's commitment to safeguarding His prophet.

Divine Encouragement and Assurance

In Jeremiah 15:20-21, God reiterated His promise of deliverance: "I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you," declares the LORD. "I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless" . These words provided Jeremiah with the strength and courage to continue his prophetic mission despite relentless opposition.

The Fall of Jerusalem and Jeremiah's Preservation

As Jerusalem fell to the Babylonians, Jeremiah's life was spared. Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, instructed his captain, Nebuzaradan, to look after Jeremiah and do him no harm (Jeremiah 39:11-12). This protection amidst the city's destruction further illustrates God's sovereign control and care for His faithful servant.
