Creation

The Bible begins with the account of God's creation of the universe. Genesis 1:1 states, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." This foundational act of creation is further elaborated in the subsequent verses, detailing the formation of light, land, seas, vegetation, celestial bodies, animals, and humanity. God's creative power is affirmed in Psalm 33:6, "By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the stars by the breath of His mouth."

Providence

God's providential care is evident throughout Scripture, as He sustains and governs all things. In Matthew 6:26, Jesus teaches about God's provision, saying, "Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns—and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" This divine oversight extends to the rise and fall of nations, as seen in Daniel 2:21, "He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them."

Redemption

Central to God's works is His plan of redemption, culminating in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. John 3:16 encapsulates this redemptive work: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." The Apostle Paul further explains in Ephesians 1:7, "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace."

Judgment

God's works also include acts of judgment, demonstrating His holiness and justice. The flood narrative in Genesis 6-9 illustrates God's judgment on a corrupt world, while simultaneously showcasing His mercy through the preservation of Noah and his family. In the New Testament, Acts 17:31 declares, "For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead."

Miracles

Throughout the Bible, God performs miracles as signs of His power and authority. In the Old Testament, the parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21-22) and the provision of manna (Exodus 16:4) are notable examples. In the New Testament, Jesus' miracles, such as turning water into wine (John 2:1-11) and feeding the five thousand (Matthew 14:13-21), reveal His divine nature and compassion.

Transformation

God's transformative work is evident in the lives of individuals who encounter Him. The conversion of Saul of Tarsus, who became the Apostle Paul, is a profound example of God's ability to change hearts and lives (Acts 9:1-19). In 2 Corinthians 5:17, Paul writes, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come!"

Sustaining Creation

God's ongoing work in sustaining creation is highlighted in Colossians 1:17, "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together." This sustaining power ensures the order and stability of the universe, reflecting God's continuous involvement in His creation.

The works of God, as revealed in the Bible, are a testament to His omnipotence, wisdom, and love. They invite believers to trust in His providence, embrace His redemption, and live in anticipation of His ultimate restoration of all things.
