Justice of God

The justice of God is a fundamental attribute of His character, reflecting His righteousness and fairness in all His dealings with humanity. Scripture consistently affirms that God is just and that His judgments are true and righteous. In Deuteronomy 32:4, it is declared, "He is the Rock, His work is perfect; all His ways are just. A God of faithfulness without injustice, righteous and upright is He." This verse underscores the perfection and fairness inherent in God's nature.

God's justice is also evident in His laws and commandments, which are designed to promote righteousness and equity among His people. The Mosaic Law, given to Israel, is a testament to God's desire for justice, as seen in Leviticus 19:15: "You must not pervert justice; you must not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the rich; you are to judge your neighbor fairly."

The justice of God is not only retributive but also restorative. While He punishes sin, He also provides a means for redemption and restoration through Jesus Christ. Romans 3:25-26 explains, "God presented Him as the atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus."

Order of God

God's order is evident in the creation and governance of the universe. From the very beginning, God established order out of chaos, as described in Genesis 1:1-2: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." The subsequent days of creation reveal a systematic and purposeful ordering of the cosmos.

The order of God is also reflected in the moral and ethical structures He has established for human society. The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) serve as a foundational framework for moral order, guiding human behavior in relation to God and others. These commandments emphasize the importance of worship, family, life, property, and truth, providing a basis for societal order and harmony.

In the New Testament, the order of God is further revealed through the structure and function of the Church. Ephesians 4:11-13 describes the roles and offices established by God for the edification and unity of the body of Christ: "And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for works of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ."

God's order is also evident in His sovereign control over history and nations. Daniel 2:21 affirms, "He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." This verse highlights God's authority over the rise and fall of leaders and empires, orchestrating events according to His divine plan.

Justice and Order in Eschatology

The ultimate expression of God's justice and order will be realized in the eschatological fulfillment of His kingdom. Revelation 20:11-12 describes the final judgment, where God's justice will be fully executed: "Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from His presence, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and there were open books. And another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to their deeds, as recorded in the books."

In the new heaven and new earth, God's perfect order will be established, as depicted in Revelation 21:3-4: "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.'" This vision of the future underscores the ultimate realization of God's justice and order, where righteousness and peace will reign eternally.
