Signers of the Covenant
1 וְעַ֖ל (And upon) הַחֲתוּמִ֑ים (the seals were):
נְחֶמְיָ֧ה (Nehemiah) הַתִּרְשָׁ֛תָא (the Tirshatha), בֶּן־ (son) חֲכַלְיָ֖ה (of Hachaliah),
וְצִדְקִיָּֽה׃ (and Zedekiah),
2 שְׂרָיָ֥ה (Seraiah), עֲזַרְיָ֖ה (Azariah), יִרְמְיָֽה׃ (Jeremiah),
3 פַּשְׁח֥וּר (Pashhur), אֲמַרְיָ֖ה (Amariah), מַלְכִּיָּֽה׃ (Malchijah),
4 חַטּ֥וּשׁ (Hattush), שְׁבַנְיָ֖ה (Shebaniah), מַלּֽוּךְ׃ (Malluch),
5 חָרִ֥ם (Harim), מְרֵמ֖וֹת (Meremoth), עֹֽבַדְיָֽה׃ (Obadiah),
6 דָּנִיֵּ֥אל (Daniel), גִּנְּת֖וֹן (Ginnethon), בָּרֽוּךְ׃ (Baruch),
7 מְשֻׁלָּ֥ם (Meshullam), אֲבִיָּ֖ה (Abijah), מִיָּמִֽן׃ (Mijamin),
8 מַֽעַזְיָ֥ה (Maaziah), בִלְגַּ֖י (Bilgai), שְׁמַֽעְיָ֑ה (and Shemaiah).
אֵ֖לֶּה (These were) הַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃ס (the priests).
9 וְֽהַלְוִיִּ֑ם (And the Levites):
וְיֵשׁ֙וּעַ֙ (And Jeshuah) בֶּן־ (son) אֲזַנְיָ֔ה (of Azaniah),
בִּנּ֕וּי (Binnui) מִבְּנֵ֥י (from the sons) חֵנָדָ֖ד (of Henadad), קַדְמִיאֵֽל׃ (Kadmiel),
10 וַאֲחֵיהֶ֑ם (and their brothers): שְׁבַנְיָ֧ה (Shebaniah), הֽוֹדִיָּ֛ה (Hodijah), קְלִיטָ֖א (Kelita), פְּלָאיָ֥ה (Pelaiah), חָנָֽן׃ (Hanan),
11 מִיכָ֥א (Micha), רְח֖וֹב (Rehob), חֲשַׁבְיָֽה׃ (Hashabiah),
12 זַכּ֥וּר (Zaccur), שֵׁרֵֽבְיָ֖ה (Sherebiah), שְׁבַנְיָֽה׃ (Shebaniah),
13 הוֹדִיָּ֥ה (Hodiah), בָנִ֖י (Bani), בְּנִֽינוּ׃ס (and Beninu).
14 רָאשֵׁ֖י (The heads) הָעָ֑ם (of the people):
פַּרְעֹשׁ֙ (Parosh), פַּחַ֣ת (Pahath-) מוֹאָ֔ב (moab), עֵילָ֥ם (Elam), זַתּ֖וּא (Zattu), בָּנִֽי׃ (Bani),
15 בֻּנִּ֥י (Bunni), עַזְגָּ֖ד (Azgad), בֵּבָֽי׃ (Bebai),
16 אֲדֹנִיָּ֥ה (Adonijah), בִגְוַ֖י (Bigvai), עָדִֽין׃ (Adin),
17 אָטֵ֥ר (Ater), חִזְקִיָּ֖ה (Hezekiah), עַזּֽוּר׃ (Azzur),
18 הוֹדִיָּ֥ה (Hodiah), חָשֻׁ֖ם (Hashum), בֵּצָֽי׃ (Bezai),
19 חָרִ֥יף (Hariph), עֲנָת֖וֹת (Anathoth), נוֹבָי׃ (Nebai),
20 מַגְפִּיעָ֥שׁ (Magpiash), מְשֻׁלָּ֖ם (Meshullam), חֵזִֽיר׃ (Hezir),
21 מְשֵׁיזַבְאֵ֥ל (Meshezabel), צָד֖וֹק (Zadok), יַדּֽוּעַ׃ (Jaddua),
22 פְּלַטְיָ֥ה (Pelatiah), חָנָ֖ן (Hanan), עֲנָיָֽה׃ (Anaiah),
23 הוֹשֵׁ֥עַ (Hoshea), חֲנַנְיָ֖ה (Hananiah), חַשּֽׁוּב׃ (Hasshub),
24 הַלּוֹחֵ֥שׁ (Hallohesh), פִּלְחָ֖א (Pilha), שׁוֹבֵֽק׃ (Shobek),
25 רְח֥וּם (Rehum), חֲשַׁבְנָ֖ה (Hashabnah), מַעֲשֵׂיָֽה׃ (Maaseiah),
26 וַאֲחִיָּ֥ה (and Ahijah), חָנָ֖ן (Hanan), עָנָֽן׃ (Anan),
27 מַלּ֥וּךְ (Malluch), חָרִ֖ם (Harim), בַּעֲנָֽה׃ (and Baanah).
The Vows of the Covenant
28 וּשְׁאָ֣ר (And the rest) הָעָ֡ם (of the people)— הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים (the priests), הַ֠לְוִיִּם (the Levites), הַשּׁוֹעֲרִ֨ים (the gatekeepers), הַמְשֹׁרְרִ֜ים (the singers), הַנְּתִינִ֗ים (the Nethinim), וְֽכָל־ (and all) הַנִּבְדָּ֞ל (having separated themselves) מֵעַמֵּ֤י (from the peoples) הָאֲרָצוֹת֙ (of the lands) אֶל־ (unto) תּוֹרַ֣ת (the Law) הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים (of God)— נְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם (their wives), בְּנֵיהֶ֣ם (their sons), וּבְנֹתֵיהֶ֑ם (and their daughters), כֹּ֖ל (every one) יוֹדֵ֥עַ (having knowledge), מֵבִֽין׃ (and understanding),
29 מַחֲזִיקִ֣ים (taking hold) עַל־ (upon) אֲחֵיהֶם֮ (their brothers), אַדִּירֵיהֶם֒ (their nobles), וּבָאִ֞ים (and entering) בְּאָלָ֣ה (into a curse) וּבִשְׁבוּעָ֗ה (and into an oath) לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ (to walk) בְּתוֹרַ֣ת (in the law) הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים (of God) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) נִתְּנָ֔ה (was given) בְּיַ֖ד (by the hand) מֹשֶׁ֣ה (of Moses) עֶֽבֶד־ (the servant) הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים (of God), וְלִשְׁמ֣וֹר (and to keep) וְלַעֲשׂ֗וֹת (and to do) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) מִצְוֺת֙ (the commandments) יְהוָ֣ה (of YHWH) אֲדֹנֵ֔ינוּ (our Lord) וּמִשְׁפָּטָ֖יו (and His ordinances) וְחֻקָּֽיו׃ (and His statutes),
30 וַאֲשֶׁ֛ר (and that) לֹא־ (not) נִתֵּ֥ן (we would give) בְּנֹתֵ֖ינוּ (our daughters) לְעַמֵּ֣י (to the peoples) הָאָ֑רֶץ (of the land), וְאֶת־ (and) בְּנֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם (their daughters) לֹ֥א (not) נִקַּ֖ח (would we take) לְבָנֵֽינוּ׃ (for our sons).
31 וְעַמֵּ֣י (And when the peoples) הָאָ֡רֶץ (of the land) הַֽמְבִיאִים֩ (are bringing) אֶת־ (-) הַמַּקָּח֨וֹת (the wares) וְכָל־ (and all kinds) שֶׁ֜בֶר (of grain) בְּי֤וֹם (on the day) הַשַּׁבָּת֙ (of the Sabbath) לִמְכּ֔וֹר (to sell), לֹא־ (not) נִקַּ֥ח (shall we receive it) מֵהֶ֛ם (from them) בַּשַּׁבָּ֖ת (on the Sabbath) וּבְי֣וֹם (or on a day) קֹ֑דֶשׁ (holy), וְנִטֹּ֛שׁ (and we shall leave) אֶת־ (-) הַשָּׁנָ֥ה (year) הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖ית (the seventh) וּמַשָּׁ֥א (and interest) כָל־ (from every) יָֽד׃ (hand).
32 וְהֶעֱמַ֤דְנוּ (And we made) עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙ (for ourselves) מִצְוֺ֔ת (the obligation) לָתֵ֥ת (to put) עָלֵ֛ינוּ (on ourselves) שְׁלִשִׁ֥ית (a third) הַשֶּׁ֖קֶל (of a shekel) בַּשָּׁנָ֑ה (in a year) לַעֲבֹדַ֖ת (for the service) בֵּ֥ית (of the house) אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ (of our God):
33 לְלֶ֣חֶם (For the bread) הַֽמַּעֲרֶ֡כֶת (of the arrangement), וּמִנְחַ֣ת (and the grain offering) הַתָּמִ֣יד (regular), וּלְעוֹלַ֣ת (and for the burnt offering) הַ֠תָּמִיד (regular) הַשַּׁבָּת֨וֹת (for the Sabbaths), הֶחֳדָשִׁ֜ים (for the New Moons), לַמּוֹעֲדִ֗ים (for the appointed times), וְלַקֳּדָשִׁים֙ (and for the holy things), וְלַ֣חַטָּא֔וֹת (and for sin offerings), לְכַפֵּ֖ר (to make atonement) עַל־ (upon) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (Israel), וְכֹ֖ל (and all) מְלֶ֥אכֶת (the work) בֵּית־ (of the house) אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ס (of our God).
34 וְהַגּוֹרָל֨וֹת (And the lots) הִפַּ֜לְנוּ (we made fall) עַל־ (over) קֻרְבַּ֣ן (the offering) הָעֵצִ֗ים (of wood) הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים (for the priests), הַלְוִיִּם֮ (the Levites), וְהָעָם֒ (and the people), לְ֠הָבִיא (to bring it) לְבֵ֨ית (to the house) אֱלֹהֵ֧ינוּ (of our God) לְבֵית־ (to the house) אֲבֹתֵ֛ינוּ (of our fathers) לְעִתִּ֥ים (at the times) מְזֻמָּנִ֖ים (appointed) שָׁנָ֣ה (year) בְשָׁנָ֑ה (by year), לְבַעֵ֗ר (to burn) עַל־ (upon) מִזְבַּח֙ (the altar) יְהוָ֣ה (of YHWH) אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ (our God), כַּכָּת֖וּב (as written) בַּתּוֹרָֽה׃ (in the Law),
35 וּלְהָבִ֞יא (and to bring in) אֶת־ (-) בִּכּוּרֵ֣י (the firstfruits) אַדְמָתֵ֗נוּ (of our land), וּבִכּוּרֵ֛י (and the firstfruits) כָּל־ (of all) פְּרִ֥י (the fruit) כָל־ (of every) עֵ֖ץ (tree) שָׁנָ֣ה (year) בְשָׁנָ֑ה (by year), לְבֵ֖ית (to the house) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH),
36 וְאֶת־ (and) בְּכֹר֤וֹת (the firstborn) בָּנֵ֙ינוּ֙ (of our sons), וּבְהֶמְתֵּ֔ינוּ (and our livestock), כַּכָּת֖וּב (as it is written) בַּתּוֹרָ֑ה (in the Law), וְאֶת־ (and) בְּכוֹרֵ֨י (the firstborn) בְקָרֵ֜ינוּ (of our herds) וְצֹאנֵ֗ינוּ (and our flocks), לְהָבִיא֙ (to bring) לְבֵ֣ית (to the house) אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ (of our God), לַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים (to the priests) הַמְשָׁרְתִ֖ים (ministering) בְּבֵ֥ית (in the house) אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ (of our God).
37 וְאֶת־ (And) רֵאשִׁ֣ית (the first) עֲרִיסֹתֵ֣ינוּ (of our dough), וּ֠תְרוּמֹתֵינוּ (and our contributions), וּפְרִ֨י (and the fruit) כָל־ (of every) עֵ֜ץ (tree), תִּיר֣וֹשׁ (the new wine) וְיִצְהָ֗ר (and oil), נָבִ֤יא (we shall bring it) לַכֹּהֲנִים֙ (to the priests), אֶל־ (into) לִשְׁכ֣וֹת (the rooms) בֵּית־ (of the house) אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ (of our God), וּמַעְשַׂ֥ר (and the tithe) אַדְמָתֵ֖נוּ (of our land) לַלְוִיִּ֑ם (for the Levites), וְהֵם֙ (and they)— הַלְוִיִּ֔ם (the Levites)— הַֽמְעַשְּׂרִ֔ים (are those collecting the tithe) בְּכֹ֖ל (in all) עָרֵ֥י (the cities) עֲבֹדָתֵֽנוּ׃ (of our service).
38 וְהָיָ֨ה (And shall be) הַכֹּהֵ֧ן (the priest), בֶּֽן־ (the son) אַהֲרֹ֛ן (of Aaron), עִם־ (with) הַלְוִיִּ֖ם (the Levites), בַּעְשֵׂ֣ר (in collecting the tithe for) הַלְוִיִּ֑ם (the Levites), וְהַלְוִיִּ֞ם (and the Levites) יַעֲל֨וּ (shall bring up) אֶת־ (-) מַעֲשַׂ֤ר (a tenth) הַֽמַּעֲשֵׂר֙ (of the tithe) לְבֵ֣ית (to the house) אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ (of our God), אֶל־ (into) הַלְּשָׁכ֖וֹת (the rooms) לְבֵ֥ית (into the house) הָאוֹצָֽר׃ (of the treasury).
39 כִּ֣י (For) אֶל־ (to) הַ֠לְּשָׁכוֹת (the rooms) יָבִ֨יאוּ (shall bring) בְנֵי־ (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל (of Israel) וּבְנֵ֣י (and the sons) הַלֵּוִ֗י (of Levi) אֶת־ (-) תְּרוּמַ֣ת (the contribution) הַדָּגָן֮ (of the grain), הַתִּיר֣וֹשׁ (the new wine), וְהַיִּצְהָר֒ (and the oil), וְשָׁם֙ (and there shall be) כְּלֵ֣י (the articles) הַמִּקְדָּ֔שׁ (of the sanctuary are), וְהַכֹּהֲנִים֙ (and the priests) הַמְשָׁ֣רְתִ֔ים (ministering), וְהַשּׁוֹעֲרִ֖ים (and the gatekeepers), וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֑ים (and the singers).
וְלֹ֥א (And not) נַעֲזֹ֖ב (shall we forsake) אֶת־ (-) בֵּ֥ית (the house) אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ (of our God).
