The Destroyers of Jerusalem Destroyed

1  הִנֵּ֥ה (Behold), יֽוֹם־ (a day) בָּ֖א (is coming), לַֽיהוָ֑ה (of YHWH) וְחֻלַּ֥ק (and will be divided) שְׁלָלֵ֖ךְ (your plunder) בְּקִרְבֵּֽךְ׃ (in your midst). 2  וְאָסַפְתִּ֨י (And I will gather) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) הַגּוֹיִ֥ם׀ (the nations) אֶֽל־ (against) יְרוּשָׁלִַם֮ (Jerusalem) לַמִּלְחָמָה֒ (for battle); וְנִלְכְּדָ֣ה (and will be captured), הָעִ֗יר (the city) וְנָשַׁ֙סּוּ֙ (and plundered), הַבָּ֣תִּ֔ים (the houses) וְהַנָּשִׁ֖ים (and the women) תִּשָּׁגַלְנָה (ravished); וְיָצָ֞א (and will go forth) חֲצִ֤י (half) הָעִיר֙ (of the city) בַּגּוֹלָ֔ה (into exile), וְיֶ֣תֶר (and the remnant) הָעָ֔ם (of the people) לֹ֥א (not) יִכָּרֵ֖ת (will be cut off) מִן־ (from) הָעִֽיר׃ (the city).

3  וְיָצָ֣א (And will go forth), יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH) וְנִלְחַ֖ם (and He will do battle) בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם (against the nations), הָהֵ֑ם (those) כְּי֥וֹם (as in the day) הִֽלָּחֲמ֖ו (of His fighting) בְּי֥וֹם (in a day) קְרָֽב׃ (of battle). 4  וְעָמְד֣וּ (And will stand) רַגְלָ֣יו (His feet) בַּיּוֹם־ (on the day) הַ֠הוּא (that) עַל־ (upon) הַ֨ר (the Mount) הַזֵּתִ֜ים (of Olives), אֲשֶׁ֨ר (which) עַל־ (is upon) פְּנֵ֥י (the face) יְרוּשָׁלִַם֮ (of Jerusalem) מִקֶּדֶם֒ (from the east), וְנִבְקַע֩ (and will be split) הַ֨ר (the Mount) הַזֵּיתִ֤ים (of Olives) מֵֽחֶצְיוֹ֙ (from half of it) מִזְרָ֣חָה (on the east) וָיָ֔מָּה (and on the west), גֵּ֖יא (a valley); גְּדוֹלָ֣ה (great) מְאֹ֑ד (very) וּמָ֨שׁ (and will move) חֲצִ֥י (half) הָהָ֛ר (of the mountain) צָפ֖וֹנָה (toward the north), וְחֶצְיוֹ־ (and half of it) נֶֽגְבָּה׃ (toward the south). 5  וְנַסְתֶּ֣ם (And you⁺ will flee) גֵּֽיא־ (by the valley) הָרַ֗י (of my mountains); כִּֽי־ (for) יַגִּ֣יעַ (will reach) גֵּי־ (the valley) הָרִים֮ (of the mountains) אֶל־ (to) אָצַל֒ (Azal); וְנַסְתֶּ֗ם (and you⁺ will flee), כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר (as when) נַסְתֶּם֙ (you⁺ fled) מִפְּנֵ֣י (from the face) הָרַ֔עַשׁ (of the earthquake) בִּימֵ֖י (in the days) עֻזִּיָּ֣ה (of Uzziah) מֶֽלֶךְ־ (king) יְהוּדָ֑ה (of Judah). וּבָא֙ (And will come), יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהַ֔י (my God) כָּל־ (and all) קְדֹשִׁ֖ים (the holy ones) עִמָּֽךְ׃ (with You).

6  וְהָיָ֖ה (And it will come to pass) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day), הַה֑וּא (that) לֹֽא־ (not) יִהְיֶ֣ה (will there be) א֔וֹר (light) יְקָר֖וֹת (cold), יִקְפְּאוּן׃ (or frost). 7  וְהָיָ֣ה (And it will be) יוֹם־ (day) אֶחָ֗ד (a unique) ה֛וּא (it being) יִוָּדַ֥ע (known only) לַֽיהוָ֖ה (to YHWH), לֹא־ (with no) י֣וֹם (day), וְלֹא־ (and no) לָ֑יְלָה (night), וְהָיָ֥ה (and it will be that), לְעֵֽת־ (at time) עֶ֖רֶב (of evening) יִֽהְיֶה־ (that there will be) אֽוֹר׃ (light).

8  וְהָיָ֣ה׀ (And it will come to pass) בַּיּ֣וֹם (in the day), הַה֗וּא (that) יֵצְא֤וּ (will go forth) מַֽיִם־ (waters) חַיִּים֙ (living) מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם (from Jerusalem) חֶצְיָ֗ם (half of them) אֶל־ (toward) הַיָּם֙ (the Sea), הַקַּדְמוֹנִ֔י (Eastern) וְחֶצְיָ֖ם (and half of them) אֶל־ (toward) הַיָּ֣ם (the Sea); הָאַחֲר֑וֹן (Western) בַּקַּ֥יִץ (in the summer) וּבָחֹ֖רֶף (and in the winter) יִֽהְיֶֽה׃ (it will come to pass). 9  וְהָיָ֧ה (And will be) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) לְמֶ֖לֶךְ (King) עַל־ (over) כָּל־ (all) הָאָ֑רֶץ (the earth); בַּיּ֣וֹם (in the day) הַה֗וּא (that) יִהְיֶ֧ה (will be) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH), אֶחָ֖ד (one) וּשְׁמ֥וֹ (and His name) אֶחָֽד׃ (one).

10  יִסּ֨וֹב (Will be turned) כָּל־ (all) הָאָ֤רֶץ (the land) כָּעֲרָבָה֙ (into a plain) מִגֶּ֣בַע (from Geba) לְרִמּ֔וֹן (to Rimmon) נֶ֖גֶב (south) יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם (of Jerusalem); וְֽרָאֲמָה֩ (and she will be raised up), וְיָשְׁבָ֨ה (and dwell) תַחְתֶּ֜יהָ (in her place), לְמִשַּׁ֣עַר (from the Gate) בִּנְיָמִ֗ן (of Benjamin) עַד־ (to) מְק֞וֹם (the place) שַׁ֤עַר (of the Gate), הָֽרִאשׁוֹן֙ (First) עַד־ (to) שַׁ֣עַר (the Gate), הַפִּנִּ֔ים (of the Corner) וּמִגְדַּ֣ל (and from the Tower) חֲנַנְאֵ֔ל (of Hananel) עַ֖ד (to) יִקְבֵ֥י (the winepresses) הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ (of the king). 11  וְיָ֣שְׁבוּ (And they will dwell) בָ֔הּ (in her) וְחֵ֖רֶם (and utter destruction); לֹ֣א (not) יִֽהְיֶה־ (will there be) ע֑וֹד (any longer) וְיָשְׁבָ֥ה (and will dwell) יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם (Jerusalem) לָבֶֽטַח׃ (in safety).

12  וְזֹ֣את׀ (And this) תִּֽהְיֶ֣ה (will be) הַמַּגֵּפָ֗ה (the plague) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (with which) יִגֹּ֤ף (will strike) יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים (the people) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (who) צָבְא֖וּ (fought) עַל־ (against) יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם (Jerusalem); הָמֵ֣ק׀ (the rotting of) בְּשָׂר֗וֹ (a person’s flesh) וְהוּא֙ (and he) עֹמֵ֣ד (is standing) עַל־ (on) רַגְלָ֔יו (his feet), וְעֵינָיו֙ (and his eyes) תִּמַּ֣קְנָה (will rot) בְחֹֽרֵיהֶ֔ן (in their sockets), וּלְשׁוֹנ֖וֹ (and the tongue) תִּמַּ֥ק (will rot) בְּפִיהֶֽם׃ (in their mouth).

13  וְהָיָה֙ (And it will come to pass) בַּיּ֣וֹם (in the day), הַה֔וּא (that) תִּֽהְיֶ֧ה (there will be) מְהֽוּמַת־ (a panic from) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) רַבָּ֖ה (great) בָּהֶ֑ם (among them) וְהֶחֱזִ֗יקוּ (and will seize) אִ֚ישׁ (each man) יַ֣ד (the hand) רֵעֵ֔הוּ (of his neighbor), וְעָלְתָ֥ה (and will raise) יָד֖וֹ (his hand) עַל־ (against) יַ֥ד (the hand) רֵעֵֽהוּ׃ (of his neighbor). 14  וְגַ֨ם־ (And also) יְהוּדָ֔ה (Judah) תִּלָּחֵ֖ם (will fight) בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם (in Jerusalem); וְאֻסַּף֩ (and will be gathered together), חֵ֨יל (the wealth) כָּל־ (of all) הַגּוֹיִ֜ם (the nations) סָבִ֗יב (round about) זָהָ֥ב (gold), וָכֶ֛סֶף (and silver), וּבְגָדִ֖ים (and garments), לָרֹ֥ב (in abundance) מְאֹֽד׃ (great). 15  וְכֵ֨ן (And so) תִּֽהְיֶ֜ה (will be) מַגֵּפַ֣ת (the plague on) הַסּ֗וּס (the horse), הַפֶּ֙רֶד֙ (the mule), הַגָּמָ֣ל (the camel), וְהַחֲמ֔וֹר (and the donkey), וְכָ֨ל־ (and on all) הַבְּהֵמָ֔ה (the cattle) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) יִהְיֶ֖ה (may be) בַּמַּחֲנ֣וֹת (in the camps), הָהֵ֑מָּה (those) כַּמַּגֵּפָ֖ה (as the plague) הַזֹּֽאת׃ (this).

All Nations Will Worship the King
(Leviticus 23:33–44; Nehemiah 8:13–18)

16  וְהָיָ֗ה (And it will come to pass), כָּל־ (that everyone) הַנּוֹתָר֙ (remaining) מִכָּל־ (from all) הַגּוֹיִ֔ם (the nations) הַבָּאִ֖ים (coming) עַל־ (against) יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם (Jerusalem) וְעָל֞וּ (and will go up) מִדֵּ֧י (-) שָׁנָ֣ה (year) בְשָׁנָ֗ה (by year) לְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֺת֙ (to bow down) לְמֶ֙לֶךְ֙ (to the King), יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH of) צְבָא֔וֹת (Hosts), וְלָחֹ֖ג (and to keep) אֶת־ (-) חַ֥ג (the feast) הַסֻּכּֽוֹת׃ (of Booths). 17  וְ֠הָיָה (And it will be that), אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that whoever) לֹֽא־ (not) יַעֲלֶ֜ה (does go up) מֵאֵ֨ת (from) מִשְׁפְּח֤וֹת (the families) הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ (of the earth) אֶל־ (to) יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם (Jerusalem) לְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֔ת (to bow down) לְמֶ֖לֶךְ (to the King), יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH of) צְבָא֑וֹת (Hosts), וְלֹ֥א (and that not) עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם (on them) יִהְיֶ֥ה (will there be) הַגָּֽשֶׁם׃ (rain). 18  וְאִם־ (And if) מִשְׁפַּ֨חַת (the family) מִצְרַ֧יִם (of Egypt) לֹֽא־ (not) תַעֲלֶ֛ה (does go up), וְלֹ֥א (and not), בָאָ֖ה (does go in) וְלֹ֣א (then not) עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם (it is upon them) תִּֽהְיֶ֣ה (this will be) הַמַּגֵּפָ֗ה (the plague), אֲשֶׁ֨ר (with which) יִגֹּ֤ף (strikes) יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) אֶת־ (-) הַגּוֹיִ֔ם (the nations) אֲשֶׁר֙ (who) לֹ֣א (do not) יַֽעֲל֔וּ (do come up) לָחֹ֖ג (to celebrate) אֶת־ (-) חַ֥ג (the feast) הַסֻּכּֽוֹת׃ (of Booths). 19  זֹ֥את (This) תִּהְיֶ֖ה (will be) חַטַּ֣את (the punishment) מִצְרָ֑יִם (of Egypt), וְחַטַּאת֙ (and the punishment) כָּל־ (of all) הַגּוֹיִ֔ם (the nations) אֲשֶׁר֙ (that) לֹ֣א (do not) יַֽעֲל֔וּ (come up) לָחֹ֖ג (to celebrate) אֶת־ (-) חַ֥ג (the feast) הַסֻּכּֽוֹת׃ (of Booths).

20  בַּיּ֣וֹם (On the day) הַה֗וּא (that) יִֽהְיֶה֙ (it will be) עַל־ (on) מְצִלּ֣וֹת (the bells) הַסּ֔וּס (of the horses), קֹ֖דֶשׁ (HOLY) לַֽיהוָ֑ה (TO YHWH); וְהָיָ֤ה (and will be) הַסִּירוֹת֙ (the pots) בְּבֵ֣ית (in the house) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH) כַּמִּזְרָקִ֖ים (like the bowls) לִפְנֵ֥י (before) הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ (the altar). 21  וְ֠הָיָה (And will be) כָּל־ (every) סִ֨יר (pot) בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֜ם (in Jerusalem) וּבִֽיהוּדָ֗ה (and in Judah) קֹ֚דֶשׁ (a holy thing) לַיהוָ֣ה (to YHWH) צְבָא֔וֹת (of Hosts); וּבָ֙אוּ֙ (and will come) כָּל־ (and everyone) הַזֹּ֣בְחִ֔ים (sacrificing) וְלָקְח֥וּ (and will take) מֵהֶ֖ם (from them) וּבִשְּׁל֣וּ (and will cook) בָהֶ֑ם (in them) וְלֹא־ (and not) יִהְיֶ֨ה (there will be) כְנַעֲנִ֥י (a Canaanite) ע֛וֹד (any longer) בְּבֵית־ (in the house) יְהוָ֥ה (of YHWH) צְבָא֖וֹת (of Hosts) בַּיּ֥וֹם (on the day) הַהֽוּא׃ (that).
