The Hebrew word for "vindicate" is "שָׁפַט" (shaphat), which means to judge or govern. This reflects a deep trust in God's ability to discern right from wrong and to act as a righteous judge. In the historical context of ancient Israel, where legal disputes were common, calling upon God as the ultimate judge was a profound expression of faith.
