1These were Israel's sons: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,

1אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רְאוּבֵ֤ן שִׁמְעוֹן֙ לֵוִ֣י וִיהוּדָ֔ה יִשָׂשכָ֖ר וּזְבֻלֽוּן׃

2Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

2דָּ֚ן יוֹסֵ֣ף וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן נַפְתָּלִ֖י גָּ֥ד וְאָשֵֽׁר׃ ס

3Judah's sons: Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by Bath-shua the Canaanite woman. Er, Judah's firstborn, was evil in the LORD's sight, so He put him to death.

3בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה עֵ֤ר וְאוֹנָן֙ וְשֵׁלָ֔ה שְׁלוֹשָׁה֙ נ֣וֹלַד ל֔וֹ מִבַּת־ שׁ֖וּעַ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑ית וַיְהִ֞י עֵ֣ר ׀ בְּכ֣וֹר יְהוּדָ֗ה רַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה וַיְמִיתֵֽהוּ׃ ס

4Judah's daughter-in-law Tamar bore Perez and Zerah to him. Judah had five sons in all.

4וְתָמָר֙ כַּלָּת֔וֹ יָ֥לְדָה לּ֖וֹ אֶת־ פֶּ֣רֶץ וְאֶת־ זָ֑רַח כָּל־ בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה חֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ ס

5Perez's sons: Hezron and Hamul.

5בְּנֵי־ פֶ֖רֶץ חֶצְר֥וֹן וְחָמֽוּל׃ ס

6Zerah's sons: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara--five in all.

6וּבְנֵ֣י זֶ֗רַח זִ֠מְרִי וְאֵיתָ֧ן וְהֵימָ֛ן וְכַלְכֹּ֥ל וָדָ֖רַע כֻּלָּ֥ם חֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ ס

7Carmi's son: Achar, who brought trouble on Israel when he was unfaithful by taking the things set apart for destruction.

7וּבְנֵ֖י כַּרְמִ֑י עָכָר֙ עוֹכֵ֣ר יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָעַ֖ל בַּחֵֽרֶם׃ ס

8Ethan's son: Azariah.

8וּבְנֵ֥י אֵיתָ֖ן עֲזַרְיָֽה׃

9Hezron's sons, who were born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.

9וּבְנֵ֥י חֶצְר֖וֹן אֲשֶׁ֣ר נוֹלַד־ ל֑וֹ אֶת־ יְרַחְמְאֵ֥ל וְאֶת־ רָ֖ם וְאֶת־ כְּלוּבָֽי׃

10Ram fathered Amminadab, and Amminadab fathered Nahshon, a leader of Judah's descendants.

10וְרָ֖ם הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ עַמִּינָדָ֑ב וְעַמִּינָדָב֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ נַחְשׁ֔וֹן נְשִׂ֖יא בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃

11Nahshon fathered Salma, and Salma fathered Boaz.

11וְנַחְשׁוֹן֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ שַׂלְמָ֔א וְשַׂלְמָ֖א הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ בֹּֽעַז׃

12Boaz fathered Obed, and Obed fathered Jesse.

12וּבֹ֙עַז֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ עוֹבֵ֔ד וְעוֹבֵ֖ד הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ יִשָֽׁי׃

13Jesse fathered Eliab, his firstborn; Abinadab was born second, Shimea third,

13וְאִישַׁ֛י הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ בְּכֹר֖וֹ אֶת־ אֱלִיאָ֑ב וַאֲבִינָדָב֙ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י וְשִׁמְעָ֖א הַשְּׁלִישִֽׁי׃

14Nethanel fourth, Raddai fifth,

14נְתַנְאֵל֙ הָֽרְבִיעִ֔י רַדַּ֖י הַחֲמִישִֽׁי׃

15Ozem sixth, and David seventh.

15אֹ֚צֶם הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י דָּוִ֖יד הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃

16Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. Zeruiah's three sons: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel.

16[ואחיתיהם] (וְאַחְיוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם) צְרוּיָ֣ה וַאֲבִיגָ֑יִל וּבְנֵ֣י צְרוּיָ֗ה אַבְשַׁ֛י וְיוֹאָ֥ב וַעֲשָׂה־ אֵ֖ל שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃

17Amasa's mother was Abigail, and his father was Jether the Ishmaelite.

17וַאֲבִיגַ֕יִל יָלְדָ֖ה אֶת־ עֲמָשָׂ֑א וַאֲבִ֣י עֲמָשָׂ֔א יֶ֖תֶר הַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִֽי׃

18Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah and by Jerioth. These were Azubah's sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.

18וְכָלֵ֣ב בֶּן־ חֶצְר֗וֹן הוֹלִ֛יד אֶת־ עֲזוּבָ֥ה אִשָּׁ֖ה וְאֶת־ יְרִיע֑וֹת וְאֵ֣לֶּה בָנֶ֔יהָ יֵ֥שֶׁר וְשׁוֹבָ֖ב וְאַרְדּֽוֹן׃

19When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, and she bore Hur to him.

19וַתָּ֖מָת עֲזוּבָ֑ה וַיִּֽקַּֽח־ ל֤וֹ כָלֵב֙ אֶת־ אֶפְרָ֔ת וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־ חֽוּר׃

20Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered Bezalel.

20וְחוּר֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ אוּרִ֔י וְאוּרִ֖י הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ בְּצַלְאֵֽל׃ ס

21After this, Hezron slept with the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead. Hezron had married her when he was 60 years old, and she bore Segub to him.

21וְאַחַ֗ר בָּ֤א חֶצְרוֹן֙ אֶל־ בַּת־ מָכִיר֙ אֲבִ֣י גִלְעָ֔ד וְה֣וּא לְקָחָ֔הּ וְה֖וּא בֶּן־ שִׁשִּׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־ שְׂגֽוּב׃

22Segub fathered Jair, who possessed 23 towns in the land of Gilead.

22וּשְׂג֖וּב הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ יָאִ֑יר וַֽיְהִי־ ל֗וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וְשָׁלוֹשׁ֙ עָרִ֔ים בְּאֶ֖רֶץ הַגִּלְעָֽד׃

23But Geshur and Aram captured Jair's Villages along with Kenath and its villages--60 towns. All these were the sons of Machir father of Gilead.

23וַיִּקַּ֣ח גְּשֽׁוּר־ וַ֠אֲרָם אֶת־ חַוֺּ֨ת יָאִ֧יר מֵאִתָּ֛ם אֶת־ קְנָ֥ת וְאֶת־ בְּנֹתֶ֖יהָ שִׁשִּׁ֣ים עִ֑יר כָּל־ אֵ֕לֶּה בְּנֵ֖י מָכִ֥יר אֲבִי־ גִלְעָֽד׃

24After Hezron's death in Caleb-ephrathah, his wife Abijah bore Ashhur to him. He was the father of Tekoa.

24וְאַחַ֥ר מוֹת־ חֶצְר֖וֹן בְּכָלֵ֣ב אֶפְרָ֑תָה וְאֵ֤שֶׁת חֶצְרוֹן֙ אֲבִיָּ֔ה וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֶת־ אַשְׁח֖וּר אֲבִ֥י תְקֽוֹעַ׃

25The sons of Jerahmeel, Hezron's firstborn: Ram, his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.

25וַיִּהְי֧וּ בְנֵי־ יְרַחְמְאֵ֛ל בְּכ֥וֹר חֶצְר֖וֹן הַבְּכ֣וֹר ׀ רָ֑ם וּבוּנָ֥ה וָאֹ֛רֶן וָאֹ֖צֶם אֲחִיָּֽה׃

26Jerahmeel had another wife named Atarah, who was the mother of Onam.

26וַתְּהִ֨י אִשָּׁ֥ה אַחֶ֛רֶת לִֽירַחְמְאֵ֖ל וּשְׁמָ֣הּ עֲטָרָ֑ה הִ֖יא אֵ֥ם אוֹנָֽם׃ ס

27The sons of Ram, Jerahmeel's firstborn: Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

27וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵי־ רָ֖ם בְּכ֣וֹר יְרַחְמְאֵ֑ל מַ֥עַץ וְיָמִ֖ין וָעֵֽקֶר׃

28Onam's sons: Shammai and Jada. Shammai's sons: Nadab and Abishur.

28וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵי־ אוֹנָ֖ם שַׁמַּ֣י וְיָדָ֑ע וּבְנֵ֣י שַׁמַּ֔י נָדָ֖ב וַאֲבִישֽׁוּר׃

29Abishur's wife was named Abihail, who bore Ahban and Molid to him.

29וְשֵׁ֛ם אֵ֥שֶׁת אֲבִישׁ֖וּר אֲבִיהָ֑יִל וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֶת־ אַחְבָּ֖ן וְאֶת־ מוֹלִֽיד׃

30Nadab's sons: Seled and Appaim. Seled died without children.

30וּבְנֵ֥י נָדָ֖ב סֶ֣לֶד וְאַפָּ֑יִם וַיָּ֥מָת סֶ֖לֶד לֹ֥א בָנִֽים׃ ס

31Appaim's son: Ishi. Ishi's son: Sheshan. Sheshan's descendant: Ahlai.

31וּבְנֵ֥י אַפַּ֖יִם יִשְׁעִ֑י וּבְנֵ֤י יִשְׁעִי֙ שֵׁשָׁ֔ן וּבְנֵ֥י שֵׁשָׁ֖ן אַחְלָֽי׃

32The sons of Jada, brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without children.

32וּבְנֵ֤י יָדָע֙ אֲחִ֣י שַׁמַּ֔י יֶ֖תֶר וְיוֹנָתָ֑ן וַיָּ֥מָת יֶ֖תֶר לֹ֥א בָנִֽים׃ ס

33Jonathan's sons: Peleth and Zaza. These were the descendants of Jerahmeel.

33וּבְנֵ֥י יוֹנָתָ֖ן פֶּ֣לֶת וְזָזָ֑א אֵ֥לֶּה הָי֖וּ בְּנֵ֥י יְרַחְמְאֵֽל׃

34Sheshan had no sons, only daughters, but he did have an Egyptian servant whose name was Jarha.

34וְלֹֽא־ הָיָ֧ה לְשֵׁשָׁ֛ן בָּנִ֖ים כִּ֣י אִם־ בָּנ֑וֹת וּלְשֵׁשָׁ֛ן עֶ֥בֶד מִצְרִ֖י וּשְׁמ֥וֹ יַרְחָֽע׃

35Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore Attai to him.

35וַיִּתֵּ֨ן שֵׁשָׁ֧ן אֶת־ בִּתּ֛וֹ לְיַרְחָ֥ע עַבְדּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד ל֖וֹ אֶת־ עַתָּֽי׃

36Attai fathered Nathan, and Nathan fathered Zabad.

36וְעַתַּי֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ נָתָ֔ן וְנָתָ֖ן הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ זָבָֽד׃

37Zabad fathered Ephlal, and Ephlal fathered Obed.

37וְזָבָד֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ אֶפְלָ֔ל וְאֶפְלָ֖ל הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ עוֹבֵֽד׃

38Obed fathered Jehu, and Jehu fathered Azariah.

38וְעוֹבֵד֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ יֵה֔וּא וְיֵה֖וּא הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ עֲזַרְיָֽה׃

39Azariah fathered Helez, and Helez fathered Elasah.

39וַעֲזַרְיָה֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ חָ֔לֶץ וְחֶ֖לֶץ הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ אֶלְעָשָֽׂה׃

40Elasah fathered Sismai, and Sismai fathered Shallum.

40וְאֶלְעָשָׂה֙ הֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ סִֽסְמָ֔י וְסִסְמַ֖י הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ שַׁלּֽוּם׃

41Shallum fathered Jekamiah, and Jekamiah fathered Elishama.

41וְשַׁלּוּם֙ הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־ יְקַמְיָ֔ה וִֽיקַמְיָ֖ה הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ אֱלִישָׁמָֽע׃

42The sons of Caleb brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha, his firstborn, fathered Ziph, and Mareshah, his second son, fathered Hebron.

42וּבְנֵ֤י כָלֵב֙ אֲחִ֣י יְרַחְמְאֵ֔ל מֵישָׁ֥ע בְּכֹר֖וֹ ה֣וּא אֲבִי־ זִ֑יף וּבְנֵ֥י מָרֵשָׁ֖ה אֲבִ֥י חֶבְרֽוֹן׃

43Hebron's sons: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.

43וּבְנֵ֖י חֶבְר֑וֹן קֹ֥רַח וְתַפֻּ֖חַ וְרֶ֥קֶם וָשָֽׁמַע׃

44Shema fathered Raham, who fathered Jorkeam, and Rekem fathered Shammai.

44וְשֶׁ֣מַע הוֹלִ֔יד אֶת־ רַ֖חַם אֲבִ֣י יָרְקֳעָ֑ם וְרֶ֖קֶם הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ שַׁמָּֽי׃

45Shammai's son was Maon, and Maon fathered Beth-zur.

45וּבֶן־ שַׁמַּ֖י מָע֑וֹן וּמָע֖וֹן אֲבִ֥י בֵֽית־ צֽוּר׃

46Caleb's concubine Ephah was the mother of Haran, Moza, and Gazez. Haran fathered Gazez.

46וְעֵיפָה֙ פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ כָּלֵ֔ב יָֽלְדָ֛ה אֶת־ חָרָ֥ן וְאֶת־ מוֹצָ֖א וְאֶת־ גָּזֵ֑ז וְחָרָ֖ן הֹלִ֥יד אֶת־ גָּזֵֽז׃ ס

47Jahdai's sons: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.

47וּבְנֵ֖י יָהְדָּ֑י רֶ֧גֶם וְיוֹתָ֛ם וְגֵישָׁ֥ן וָפֶ֖לֶט וְעֵיפָ֥ה וָשָֽׁעַף׃

48Caleb's concubine Maacah was the mother of Sheber and Tirhanah.

48פִּלֶ֤גֶשׁ כָּלֵב֙ מַעֲכָ֔ה יָ֥לַד שֶׁ֖בֶר וְאֶֽת־ תִּרְחֲנָֽה׃

49She was also the mother of Shaaph, Madmannah's father, and of Sheva, the father of Machbenah and Gibea. Caleb's daughter was Achsah.

49וַתֵּ֗לֶד שַׁ֚עַף אֲבִ֣י מַדְמַנָּ֔ה אֶת־ שְׁוָ֛א אֲבִ֥י מַכְבֵּנָ֖ה וַאֲבִ֣י גִבְעָ֑א וּבַת־ כָּלֵ֖ב עַכְסָֽה׃ ס

50These were Caleb's descendants. The sons of Hur, Ephrathah's firstborn: Shobal fathered Kiriath-jearim;

50אֵ֤לֶּה הָיוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י כָלֵ֔ב בֶּן־ ח֖וּר בְּכ֣וֹר אֶפְרָ֑תָה שׁוֹבָ֕ל אֲבִ֖י קִרְיַ֥ת יְעָרִֽים׃

51Salma fathered Bethlehem, and Hareph fathered Beth-gader.

51שַׂלְמָא֙ אֲבִ֣י בֵֽית־ לָ֔חֶם חָרֵ֖ף אֲבִ֥י בֵית־ גָּדֵֽר׃

52These were the descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim: Haroeh, half of the Manahathites,

52וַיִּהְי֤וּ בָנִים֙ לְשׁוֹבָ֔ל אֲבִ֖י קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֑ים הָרֹאֶ֖ה חֲצִ֥י הַמְּנֻחֽוֹת׃

53and the families of Kiriath-jearim--the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites, and Mishraites. The Zorathites and Eshtaolites descended from these.

53וּמִשְׁפְּחוֹת֙ קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֔ים הַיִּתְרִי֙ וְהַפּוּתִ֔י וְהַשֻּׁמָתִ֖י וְהַמִּשְׁרָעִ֑י מֵאֵ֗לֶּה יָצְאוּ֙ הַצָּ֣רְעָתִ֔י וְהָאֶשְׁתָּ֖אֻֽלִֽי׃ ס

54Salma's sons: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites,

54בְּנֵ֣י שַׂלְמָ֗א בֵּ֥ית לֶ֙חֶם֙ וּנְט֣וֹפָתִ֔י עַטְר֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית יוֹאָ֑ב וַחֲצִ֥י הַמָּנַחְתִּ֖י הַצָּרְעִֽי׃

55and the families of scribes who lived in Jabez--the Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of Rechab's family.

55וּמִשְׁפְּח֤וֹת סֹפְרִים֙ [ישבו] (יֹשְׁבֵ֣י) יַעְבֵּ֔ץ תִּרְעָתִ֥ים שִׁמְעָתִ֖ים שׂוּכָתִ֑ים הֵ֚מָּה הַקִּינִ֣ים הַבָּאִ֔ים מֵחַמַּ֖ת אֲבִ֥י בֵית־ רֵכָֽב׃ ס
