Berean Study Bible God Calls CyrusCyrus, king of Persia, is called God’s anointed because the Lord appointed him for a specific task: to overthrow Babylon and permit the Jewish exiles to return to Jerusalem. Though he was a Gentile ruler, he served God’s purpose in restoring His people and advancing His plan. Isa 44:28 who says of Cyrus, ‘My shepherd will fulfill…… whose right hand I have grasped God personally directs and strengthens Cyrus, granting him the authority and success needed to accomplish what had been decreed. His victories are presented as the work of God rather than merely the achievement of Persian power. Isa 41:13 For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your hand… to subdue nations before him, Cyrus brought major kingdoms under Persian rule, including the Babylonian Empire. His rise fulfilled God’s purpose to judge Babylon and prepare the way for Judah’s return from exile. Psa 47:3 He subdues nations beneath us, and peoples under our feet. to disarm kings, Rival rulers would be stripped of their power before Cyrus. Babylon’s fall came with little resistance, demonstrating that the nations and their kings could not withstand the course God had established. Dan 2:21 He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings… to open the doors before him, Cities and strongholds that normally resisted invasion would become accessible to Cyrus. Babylon itself fell when Persian forces entered through openings that had not been secured against them. Rev 3:7-8 To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:… so that the gates will not be shut: No barrier could prevent Cyrus from carrying out the assignment God had given him. His conquests would lead to the release of the Jewish people and the rebuilding of Jerusalem and its temple. Isa 60:11 Your gates will always stand open; they will never be shut… “I will go before you God promised to lead Cyrus in his campaign against Babylon, directing events so that Cyrus would accomplish the purpose for which he had been chosen: the defeat of Babylon and the release of the Jewish exiles. Deu 31:8 The LORD Himself goes before you; He will be with you.… and level the mountains; The mountains portray the formidable obstacles before Cyrus. God would remove barriers that could hinder his advance and make the way open for the conquest He had decreed. Isa 40:4 Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill… I will break down the gates of bronze Babylon was protected by massive walls and strong gates, yet its defenses could not resist God’s purpose. The city’s fall demonstrated that even the greatest human fortifications are subject to His rule. Mic 2:13 One who breaks open the way will go up before them;… and cut through the bars of iron. Iron bars reinforced city gates and symbolized secure captivity. God would break Babylon’s power, opening the way for Israel’s return to Judah and the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the temple. Psa 107:16 For He has broken down the gates of bronze… I will give you the treasures of darkness God promised Cyrus access to the wealth and reserves concealed within Babylon, a city renowned for its riches. By granting Cyrus victory over fortified kingdoms, the Lord would place resources beyond ordinary reach into his hands. Job 12:22 He reveals the deep things of darkness… and the riches hidden in secret places, Treasures were commonly stored in protected chambers or buried during times of war. Cyrus’s conquests would reveal such hidden wealth, demonstrating that his success came from God’s purpose rather than military strength alone. Mat 13:44 The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.… so that you may know that I am the LORD, The victories and provision given to Cyrus were intended to make clear that Israel’s God directs the affairs of nations and rulers. Exo 6:7 I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God.… the God of Israel, Though Cyrus was a Persian king who did not belong to Israel, the Lord identified Himself as the covenant God of His people, acting to fulfill His promises concerning their restoration. Psa 68:35 O God, You are awesome in Your sanctuary;… who calls you by name. God had appointed Cyrus personally to carry out His plan, including the defeat of Babylon and the return of Jewish exiles to their land. Isa 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says—He who created you…… For the sake of Jacob My servant and Israel My chosen one, God acted to preserve His covenant people, descended from Jacob, whose name became Israel. Though the nation had been carried into Babylonian exile because of sin, the Lord had not abandoned His purpose for them. Their restoration would display His faithfulness and advance His plan for Jerusalem and the temple. Isa 44:1-2 But now listen, O Jacob My servant, Israel… I call you by name; God identified Cyrus long before his rise to power and appointed him as Persia’s ruler for a specific task. Cyrus would conquer Babylon and permit the Jewish exiles to return to their land. Isa 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says—He who created you…… I have given you a title of honor, Though Cyrus was a Gentile king, God granted him authority and a distinguished role in carrying out the release of Israel and the rebuilding of Jerusalem. His success was not accidental but directed by the Lord who rules over kings and nations. Isa 62:2 Nations will see your righteousness, and all kings… though you have not known Me. Cyrus did not worship the God of Israel, yet God used him to accomplish His purposes. The deliverance of Judah would show that Israel’s God governs history and fulfills His word through whom He chooses. Jhn 17:25 Righteous Father, although the world has not known You… I am the LORD, and there is no other; Yahweh alone is God, sovereign over every nation, ruler, and event. Isaiah’s declaration confronts the idols of Babylon and the false gods trusted by surrounding peoples. Deu 4:35 You were shown these things so that you would know… there is no God but Me. No rival deity exists alongside the God of Israel. Idols are human creations without power, while the LORD alone governs history and fulfills His purposes. Deu 32:39 See now that I am He; there is no God besides Me… I will equip you for battle, God raised up Cyrus, king of Persia, to defeat Babylon and permit the Jewish exiles to return to their land. Cyrus’s victories were not merely the result of military strength but part of God’s determined plan. 2Sa 22:40 You have armed me with strength for battle… though you have not known Me, Cyrus did not worship or personally know the LORD, yet God used him as His appointed instrument. The deliverance of Israel through a foreign ruler demonstrates that God’s purposes extend over all peoples and are not dependent on human recognition of Him. Gal 4:8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves… so that all may know, God acted through Cyrus and the fall of Babylon to make His power known beyond Israel. His purpose extended to every nation and ruler, demonstrating that history unfolds under His authority. 1Ki 8:60 so that all the peoples of the earth may know the LORD… from where the sun rises to where it sets, From east to west, the whole earth lies within God’s dominion. No nation, kingdom, or distant land exists outside His rule. Psa 113:3 From where the sun rises to where it sets… that there is none but Me; Israel’s God alone is God. The idols of Babylon and the gods worshiped by surrounding peoples had no power to direct events, save, or establish kingdoms. Deu 4:35 You were shown these things so that you would know… I am the LORD, The covenant God who revealed Himself to Moses identifies Himself as the One directing Cyrus, preserving His people, and governing the nations. He is eternal, faithful, and unchanging. Exo 6:2 God also told Moses, “I am the LORD. and there is no other. The Lord’s uniqueness excludes every rival claim to deity. His deliverance of Israel and His judgment of Babylon would publicly confirm that all power belongs to Him alone. Deu 4:39 Know therefore this day and take to heart… I form the light and create the darkness; God alone rules over every realm of creation. In contrast to pagan beliefs that divided the world between rival powers of light and darkness, the Lord declares that both are under His command. He governs order and disorder, revelation and obscurity, and the course of nature itself. Gen 1:3-5 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.… I bring prosperity and create calamity. The Lord directs the fortunes of nations and individuals, granting peace and well-being or bringing judgment and disaster according to His purposes. In Isaiah’s setting, He would raise Cyrus to overthrow Babylon, end Judah’s exile, and demonstrate that no king, army, or false god could alter His plan. Calamity is not outside God’s control, nor is it random; He uses it in righteous judgment and in the fulfillment of His purposes. 1Sa 2:6-7 The LORD brings death and gives life; He brings down… I, the LORD, do all these things. Israel’s covenant God governs history from its beginning to its end. His actions in judgment, deliverance, blessing, and restoration reveal His authority over all peoples and events. Psa 115:3 Our God is in heaven; He does as He pleases. Drip down, O heavens, from above, God calls for blessing to descend as rain from heaven, portraying His intervention on behalf of His people. Deu 32:2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my speech settle like dew… and let the skies pour down righteousness. His righteous rule brings justice, deliverance, and the restoration of what sin has corrupted. Hos 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness and reap the fruit… Let the earth open up The earth is pictured as receiving what God sends, as dry ground receives rain. Psa 65:9-10 You attend to the earth and water it; with abundance… that salvation may sprout God’s salvation is presented as life emerging from the ground, pointing to the deliverance He would bring and ultimately fulfill through the Messiah. Isa 11:1 Then a shoot will spring up from the stump of Jesse… and righteousness spring up with it; Salvation and righteousness belong together, for God rescues His people in order to establish His holy order among them. Isa 61:11 For as the earth brings forth its growth, … I, the LORD, have created it. The Lord alone is the source of this salvation and restoration; it proceeds from His sovereign purpose and power. Isa 43:7 everyone called by My name and created for My glory… Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker— God warns against those who contend with the One who created them. Human beings cannot rightly accuse, judge, or resist God, whose wisdom and purposes exceed their understanding. Job 40:2 Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty?… one clay pot among many. Like a vessel formed from clay, each person is part of God’s creation and remains dependent on Him. The image humbles human pride by placing individuals within the larger work of the Creator. Rom 9:21 Does not the potter have the right to make… Does the clay ask the potter, ‘What are you making?’ The formed object has no authority over the one who shapes it. God directs the course of individuals and nations according to His righteous purpose. Jer 18:6 O house of Israel, declares the LORD, can I not treat you…… Does your work say, ‘He has no hands’? To deny God’s power or competence is as unreasonable as a pot questioning whether its maker could form it. Creation itself bears witness to God’s active and sovereign handiwork. Psa 119:73 Your hands have made me and fashioned me;… Woe to him who says to his father, Isaiah condemns those who challenge their Maker as though they possessed authority over Him. God is the Father and Creator of His people, and human beings have no standing to accuse Him of error in His purposes. Pro 30:17 As for the eye that mocks a father and scorns obedience… ‘What have you begotten?’ The image is of a child criticizing the one who gave him life. Israel had questioned God’s use of Cyrus and His plans for restoring His people, but the Creator is free to accomplish His will through whom He chooses. Psa 139:13-16 For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together… or to his mother, The parallel image strengthens the rebuke. Just as parents deserve honor rather than contempt from their children, God’s created people must not dispute His wisdom or reject the order He has established. Pro 30:11 There is a generation of those who curse their fathers… ‘What have you brought forth?’” Questioning God’s work treats His creation and providence as defective. Isaiah calls Israel to recognize that the Lord’s decisions are righteous, even when His methods or timing are not understood. Psa 22:9-10 Yet You brought me forth from the womb;… Thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: God speaks as Israel’s covenant Lord, the Holy One set apart from all sin, and the Creator who formed the nation for His purposes. His identity establishes His absolute authority over Israel’s future and over all creation. Isa 44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer who formed you… “Concerning things to come, Israel need not fear events beyond its present circumstances, for God directs history according to His appointed purpose. Isa 41:23 Tell us the things that are to come, so that… do you question Me about My sons, Israel belongs to God as His chosen people. Those who challenged His plans for the nation were questioning the wisdom and faithfulness of their Father and Redeemer. Exo 4:22 Then tell Pharaoh that this is what the LORD says:… or instruct Me in the work of My hands? No human being is in a position to direct the Creator or judge His work. God alone determines how He will preserve, discipline, restore, and use His people. Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay,… It is I who made the earth and created man upon it. God declares Himself the sole Creator of the earth and humanity. Genesis records that He brought the world into being by His command and formed man from the dust, making him in His image. Unlike pagan accounts that attributed creation to competing deities or chaos, Scripture presents creation as the deliberate work of one sovereign God. Humanity therefore belongs to Him and bears a distinct responsibility within His created order. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. It was My hands that stretched out the heavens, The vast heavens display God’s power, wisdom, and purposeful design. He did not merely begin creation; He established its order and continues to uphold it. The immensity of the universe stands under the work and authority of its Maker. Isa 48:13 Surely My own hand founded the earth… and I ordained all their host. Every celestial body was placed and directed by God. The stars, sun, moon, and planets were not gods to be worshiped, as many surrounding nations believed, but created servants within His order. Their existence and movement testify to His rule over heaven and earth. Isa 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high: Who created all these?… I will raise up Cyrus in righteousness, God appointed Cyrus, the future Persian king, to carry out His just purpose for Judah. Named long before his rise, Cyrus would overthrow Babylon and become the ruler under whom the Jewish exiles could return. Isa 41:2 Who has aroused one from the east and called him to his feet… and I will make all his ways straight. God removed the barriers before Cyrus, granting him success in his campaigns and establishing Persian rule over Babylon. His victories served a purpose beyond empire: they opened the way for Judah’s restoration. Psa 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies… He will rebuild My city Cyrus authorized the return to Jerusalem and supported the rebuilding of the temple and the restored community. Jerusalem, left desolate after Babylon’s destruction, again became the center of Jewish worship and national life. Neh 2:5 answered the king, “If it pleases the king,… and set My exiles free, The Persian decree ended the captivity of those willing to return from Babylon. Their return fulfilled God’s promise to preserve His people and restore them to the land He had given them. Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on Me, because the LORD… but not for payment or reward, Cyrus would not need to be bribed or persuaded to carry out God’s purpose. The release of the exiles came by God’s sovereign direction, not because Judah had earned deliverance. Isa 55:1 “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters;… says the LORD of Hosts.” The Lord commands the armies of heaven and rules over kings and nations. His decree concerning Cyrus, Babylon, and Jerusalem would stand. Zec 1:3 So tell the people that this is what the LORD of Hosts says:… This is what the LORD says: The LORD announces His purpose with absolute authority, declaring what He will bring about among the nations. Ezk 12:25 I, the LORD, will speak whatever word I speak… “The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, Egypt and Cush were major centers of wealth, trade, and political strength. Their resources represented the power of nations that had long stood outside Israel. Isa 43:3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel,… along with the Sabeans, men of stature, The Sabeans were a prominent trading people from a distant southern region, known for their wealth and influence. Their inclusion shows that the LORD’s rule extends beyond Israel’s immediate surroundings. Job 1:15 The Sabeans swooped down and took them away.… will come over to you and will be yours; The wealth and strength of these nations will be transferred to God’s people, reversing the usual pattern in which Israel was threatened or oppressed by stronger powers. Isa 60:5 Then you will look and be radiant, and your heart will… they will trudge behind you; Their following pictures submission to the people whom God has chosen and defended. Isa 60:14 The sons of your oppressors will come and bow down to you;… they will come over in chains and bow down to you. The imagery portrays conquered nations acknowledging that Israel’s security and exaltation come from the LORD, not from military strength or human achievement. Psa 149:8 to bind their kings with chains…… They will confess to you: ‘God is indeed with you, The nations will recognize that the God of Israel dwells among and acts for His people. Gen 26:28 “We can plainly see that the LORD has been with you,”… and there is no other; there is no other God.’” Their confession affirms the LORD alone as the true God, above the idols and false gods once trusted by the nations. Deu 4:35 You were shown these things so that you would know… Truly You are a God who hides Himself, God’s purposes were not always visible to Israel during the exile, yet He was actively directing events toward their restoration. His ways exceed human understanding, and His timing often remains concealed until His work is revealed. Isa 8:17 I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding His face… O God of Israel, Though Israel had suffered judgment for rebellion, the Lord remained faithful to His covenant promises. He had not abandoned His people and would preserve them according to His word. 2Ki 19:15 And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD: “O LORD, God of Israel… the Savior. The Lord alone would deliver Israel from Babylon, using Cyrus as His appointed instrument. That temporal rescue also anticipates the greater salvation God provides through Christ. Isa 43:3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel,… They will all be put to shame and humiliated; Those who resist the Lord’s rule and trust in false gods will be exposed when His purposes are fulfilled. Their confidence in powerless objects of worship will end in public disgrace. Psa 97:7 All worshipers of images are put to shame… the makers of idols Craftsmen who fashioned images from wood, metal, or stone gave form to gods that could neither see, speak, save, nor rule. Their work represented humanity’s attempt to replace the Creator with something created. Isa 44:9 All makers of idols are nothing, and the things… will depart together in disgrace. Idol makers and those who worship their products share the same outcome. No nation, culture, or individual can escape God’s judgment by trusting in false worship. Isa 44:11 Behold, all his companions will be put to shame,… But Israel will be saved by the LORD Israel’s future rests on the covenant faithfulness of Yahweh, not on military strength or human merit. In the setting of Cyrus and Babylon, God promised to preserve and restore His people, while also pointing beyond their immediate return to His final work of redemption. Hos 1:7 Yet I will have compassion on the house of Judah,… with an everlasting salvation; The deliverance God provides is more than relief from exile or oppression. His purpose for Israel reaches to an enduring salvation that cannot be overturned, ultimately fulfilled through the Messiah and completed in God’s eternal kingdom. Isa 51:6 But My salvation will last forever, and My righteousness…… you will not be put to shame or humiliated, The disgrace brought by Israel’s rebellion, defeat, and captivity will not be the end of her story. God will vindicate His people before the nations and remove the reproach associated with their judgment. Isa 49:23 Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens… to ages everlasting. God’s promise extends beyond a single generation or historical restoration. Israel’s future is secure because the Lord’s saving purpose endures forever. Psa 103:17 But from everlasting to everlasting the loving devotion… For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens—He is God; The God of Israel alone made the heavens and rules over all that exists. Unlike the idols fashioned by human hands, He is eternal, living, and sovereign. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. He formed the earth and fashioned it; The earth was not accidental or the product of competing gods. The LORD deliberately ordered and prepared it according to His wisdom and purpose. Isa 44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer who formed you… He established it; God set the world in its proper place and gave it stability. His creation reflects order rather than chaos and remains under His authority. Psa 119:90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations;… He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited: From the beginning, God prepared the earth as the dwelling place for people and living creatures. Its fullness and fruitfulness were part of His design. Act 17:26 From one man He made every nation of men,… “I am the LORD, and there is no other. Israel’s God alone is the true God. The claim rejects every idol and false deity and affirms that all nations ultimately stand before the one Creator and Lord. Deu 32:39 See now that I am He; there is no God besides Me… I have not spoken in secret, from a place in a land of darkness. The Lord did not conceal His purposes from Israel or require them to pursue hidden knowledge. In contrast to the obscure practices connected with pagan worship, He made His will known through His word, His prophets, and His covenant with His people. Darkness represents ignorance and separation from divine truth; God’s revelation brings light and certainty. Isa 48:16 Come near to Me and listen to this: From the beginning… I did not say to the descendants of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in a wasteland.’ Israel’s search for the Lord was not empty or futile. The descendants of Jacob were called to seek the God who had chosen them, delivered them, and bound Himself to them by covenant. His commands and promises had a clear purpose: that His people would know Him and live under His righteous rule. Deu 30:11-14 For this commandment I give you today is not too difficult… I, the LORD, speak the truth; I say what is right. God’s words are wholly reliable because His character is true and righteous. His judgments are not deceptive, arbitrary, or unjust. What He declares concerning salvation, judgment, and the future will certainly stand. Deu 32:4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect; all His ways are just.… Come, gather together, and draw near, you fugitives from the nations. God summons the survivors of the nations, including those scattered under Babylon’s dominion, to assemble before Him. Their escape from judgment and upheaval places them before the God who directs the course of kingdoms and calls all peoples to recognize His rule. Ezk 36:24 For I will take you from among the nations… Ignorant are those who carry idols of wood Those devoted to idols reveal their blindness by bearing images fashioned by human hands. The gods they serve must be made, transported, and protected, unlike the Lord, who created and sustains His people and the nations. Isa 44:18-20 They do not comprehend or discern, for He has shut… and pray to a god that cannot save. The false gods of the nations could not deliver their worshipers from Babylonian power or from divine judgment. Salvation belongs to the Lord alone, who would demonstrate His power through Israel’s restoration and ultimately through Jesus Christ. Isa 46:7 They lift it to their shoulder and carry it along;… Speak up and present your case—yes, let them take counsel together. The nations and their idols are summoned as though before a court. Let their wisest representatives defend their gods and demonstrate any power to act, save, or reveal what lies ahead. Their united counsel only exposes the helplessness of idols fashioned by human hands. Isa 41:21-23 “Present your case,” says the LORD. “Submit your arguments…”… Who foretold this long ago? Only the LORD had declared beforehand the events now unfolding, including the rise of rulers and the deliverance of His people. The idols had given no warning and possessed no knowledge of what was to come. Isa 46:10 I declare the end from the beginning, and from ancient times… Who announced it from ancient times? God’s purposes had been made known through His prophets over many generations. History moved according to His sovereign plan, confirming that His word was dependable and His promises certain. Isa 48:3-5 I foretold the former things long ago;… Was it not I, the LORD? The LORD identifies Himself as the One who governs history and reveals its outcome. Yahweh alone is the covenant God of Israel, eternally existing and actively directing the affairs of nations. Deu 32:39 See now that I am He; there is no God besides Me… There is no other God but Me, No rival deity exists beside Him. The gods worshiped by the surrounding nations were powerless inventions, unable to create, rule, or redeem. Isa 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King and Redeemer of Israel… a righteous God and Savior; God acts in perfect justice and remains faithful to His covenant promises. He judges evil rightly and delivers those whom He has chosen to save. His saving purpose finds its fullest expression in Jesus Christ. Psa 98:2-3 The LORD has proclaimed His salvation… there is none but Me. The repeated declaration closes the challenge: the LORD alone is God, righteous Judge, and Savior. All worship, trust, and allegiance belong to Him alone. Neh 9:6 You alone are the LORD. You created the heavens,… Turn to Me and be saved, God summons Israel and every nation to abandon idols and rely on Him alone. Salvation requires a genuine turning of heart from rebellion and false worship to the living God. Psa 80:3 Restore us, O God, and cause Your face to shine upon us,… all the ends of the earth; Though Israel was chosen for a distinct covenant purpose, God’s saving purpose reaches every people and nation. Act 13:47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us:… for I am God, The Lord stands above the rulers, nations, and gods of the ancient world, possessing the power to save and judge. Deu 4:35 You were shown these things so that you would know… and there is no other. Idols cannot deliver, and no rival deity exists. The one true God alone provides salvation, ultimately made known through Jesus Christ. Isa 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King and Redeemer of Israel… By Myself I have sworn; God confirms His decree by His own name, the highest possible guarantee. As the sovereign Creator, He answers to no greater authority, and His purpose cannot fail. Gen 22:16 By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, … truth has gone out from My mouth, What God declares is fully reliable and in perfect agreement with His character. His judgments and promises stand because He neither deceives nor changes. Isa 55:11 So My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me… a word that will not be revoked: The coming acknowledgment of God’s rule is fixed by divine decree. No human rebellion, ruler, or nation can overturn what He has determined. Jer 4:28 Therefore the earth will mourn and the heavens above… Every knee will bow before Me, All people will ultimately stand before the Lord and recognize His authority. The proud, the powerful, and the faithful alike will answer to the God of Israel. Rom 14:11 As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow…… every tongue will swear allegiance. Every person will confess that the Lord alone is God. The final outcome of history is the universal recognition of His righteous rule. Isa 19:18 In that day five cities in the land of Egypt… Surely they will say of Me, The Lord foretells a day when the nations will openly acknowledge His supremacy and confess what is true of Him. Php 2:10-11 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,… ‘In the LORD alone are righteousness and strength.’” God alone possesses perfect righteousness and unlimited power. No nation, ruler, or idol can provide what belongs to Him alone. Psa 71:16 I will come in the strength of the Lord GOD;… All who rage against Him Those who resist the Lord and oppose His purposes may appear strong for a time, but their rebellion cannot succeed. Psa 2:1-2 Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?… will come to Him They will stand before Him and recognize the authority they rejected. Psa 65:2 O You who listen to prayer, all people will come to You. and be put to shame. Their defiance will be exposed as futile, and they will be humbled before the righteous Judge. Isa 41:11 Behold, all who rage against you will be ashamed… In the LORD Yahweh alone is the source of Israel’s righteousness and salvation. As the covenant God of Israel, He remains faithful to His promises and stands above the false gods of the nations. Jer 17:7 But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,… all descendants of Israel God’s covenant people are the heirs of the promises given through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Though Israel had often turned from Him, the Lord would preserve and restore a faithful people who belong to Him. Isa 44:3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land,… will be justified God Himself declares His people righteous and delivers them from guilt. Their standing before Him rests not on their own merit, but on His saving work and provision. Isa 53:11 After the anguish of His soul, He will see the light of life… and will exult. Those whom the Lord saves will exult in His victory, restored fellowship, and fulfilled promises. Their glory will be in the Lord rather than in themselves. Isa 61:10 I will rejoice greatly in the LORD, my soul will exult… This is a draft of the Berean Study Bible. Please send all comments and recommendations to bereanstudybible@aol.com. Bible Hub |
