The First Six Bowls of Wrath 1 Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) μεγάλης (a loud) φωνῆς (voice) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) ναοῦ (temple) λεγούσης (saying) τοῖς (to the) ἑπτὰ (seven) ἀγγέλοις (angels)· Ὑπάγετε (Go) καὶ (and) ἐκχέετε (pour out) τὰς (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) φιάλας (bowls) τοῦ (of the) θυμοῦ (wrath) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth). 2 Καὶ (And) ἀπῆλθεν (departed) ὁ (the) πρῶτος (first) καὶ (and) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth)· καὶ (and) ἐγένετο (came) ἕλκος (a sore) κακὸν (evil) καὶ (and) πονηρὸν (grievous) ἐπὶ (upon) τοὺς (the) ἀνθρώπους (men) τοὺς (-) ἔχοντας (having) τὸ (the) χάραγμα (mark) τοῦ (of the) θηρίου (beast) καὶ (and) τοὺς (those) προσκυνοῦντας (worshiping) τῇ (the) εἰκόνι (image) αὐτοῦ (of it). 3 Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) δεύτερος (second) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) θάλασσαν (sea)· καὶ (and) ἐγένετο (it became) αἷμα (blood) ὡς (as) νεκροῦ (of one dead), καὶ (and) πᾶσα (every) ψυχὴ (soul) ζωῆς (living) ἀπέθανεν (died), τὰ (that was) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) θαλάσσῃ (sea). 4 Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) τρίτος (third) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) εἰς (into) τοὺς (the) ποταμοὺς (rivers) καὶ (and) τὰς (the) πηγὰς (springs) τῶν (of the) ὑδάτων (waters)· καὶ (and) ἐγένετο (they became) αἷμα (blood). 5 Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) τοῦ (the) ἀγγέλου (angel) τῶν (of the) ὑδάτων (waters) λέγοντος (saying)· Δίκαιος (Righteous) εἶ (are You), ὁ (the One who) ὢν (is) καὶ (and) ὁ (who) ἦν (was), ὁ (O) Ὅσιος (holy One), ὅτι (because) ταῦτα (these things) ἔκρινας (You judged), 6 ὅτι (because) αἷμα (the blood) ἁγίων (of saints) καὶ (and) προφητῶν (of prophets) ἐξέχεαν (they poured out), καὶ (and) αἷμα (blood) αὐτοῖς (to them) δέδωκας (You have given) πιεῖν (to drink)· ἄξιοί (worthy) εἰσιν (they are). 7 Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) τοῦ (the) θυσιαστηρίου (altar) λέγοντος (saying)· Ναί (Yes), Κύριε (Lord) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ὁ (-) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty), ἀληθιναὶ (true) καὶ (and) δίκαιαι (righteous are) αἱ (the) κρίσεις (judgments) σου (of You). 8 Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) τέταρτος (fourth) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸν (the) ἥλιον (sun)· καὶ (and) ἐδόθη (there was given) αὐτῷ (to it) καυματίσαι (to scorch) τοὺς (-) ἀνθρώπους (men) ἐν (with) πυρί (fire). 9 καὶ (And) ἐκαυματίσθησαν (were scorched) οἱ (the) ἄνθρωποι (men) καῦμα (with scorching heat) μέγα (great), καὶ (and) ἐβλασφήμησαν (they blasphemed) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) τοῦ (the One) ἔχοντος (having) τὴν (-) ἐξουσίαν (authority) ἐπὶ (over) τὰς (-) πληγὰς (plagues) ταύτας (these), καὶ (and) οὐ (not) μετενόησαν (they repented) δοῦναι (to give) αὐτῷ (to Him) δόξαν (glory). 10 Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) πέμπτος (fifth) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸν (the) θρόνον (throne) τοῦ (of the) θηρίου (beast)· καὶ (and) ἐγένετο (became) ἡ (the) βασιλεία (kingdom) αὐτοῦ (of it) ἐσκοτωμένη (darkened), καὶ (and) ἐμασῶντο (they were gnawing) τὰς (the) γλώσσας (tongues) αὐτῶν (of them) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) πόνου (distress), 11 καὶ (and) ἐβλασφήμησαν (they blasphemed) τὸν (the) Θεὸν (God) τοῦ (of) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) ἐκ (on account of) τῶν (the) πόνων (distresses) αὐτῶν (of them) καὶ (and) ἐκ (on account of) τῶν (the) ἑλκῶν (sores) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) οὐ (not) μετενόησαν (they repented) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) ἔργων (works) αὐτῶν (of them). 12 Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) ἕκτος (sixth) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸν (the) ποταμὸν (river) τὸν (-) μέγαν (great) τὸν (-) Εὐφράτην (Euphrates)· καὶ (and) ἐξηράνθη (was dried up) τὸ (the) ὕδωρ (water) αὐτοῦ (of it), ἵνα (so that) ἑτοιμασθῇ (might be prepared) ἡ (the) ὁδὸς (way) τῶν (of the) βασιλέων (kings) τῶν (-) ἀπὸ (of the) ἀνατολῆς (rising) ἡλίου (of the sun). 13 Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw come) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) στόματος (mouth) τοῦ (of the) δράκοντος (dragon) καὶ (and) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) στόματος (mouth) τοῦ (of the) θηρίου (beast) καὶ (and) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) στόματος (mouth) τοῦ (of the) ψευδοπροφήτου (false prophet) πνεύματα (spirits) τρία (three) ἀκάθαρτα (unclean) ὡς (like) βάτραχοι (frogs)· 14 εἰσὶν (they are) γὰρ (for) πνεύματα (spirits) δαιμονίων (of demons) ποιοῦντα (doing) σημεῖα (signs), ἃ (that) ἐκπορεύεται (go forth) ἐπὶ (to) τοὺς (the) βασιλεῖς (kings) τῆς (of the) οἰκουμένης (world) ὅλης (whole), συναγαγεῖν (to gather together) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (unto) τὸν (the) πόλεμον (battle) τῆς (of the) ἡμέρας (day) τῆς (-) μεγάλης (great) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) τοῦ (the) Παντοκράτορος (Almighty). 15 Ἰδοὺ (Behold) ἔρχομαι (I am coming) ὡς (as) κλέπτης (a thief)· μακάριος (Blessed is) ὁ (the one) γρηγορῶν (watching) καὶ (and) τηρῶν (keeping) τὰ (the) ἱμάτια (garments) αὐτοῦ (of him), ἵνα (so that) μὴ (not) γυμνὸς (naked) περιπατῇ (he may walk) καὶ (and) βλέπωσιν (they may see) τὴν (the) ἀσχημοσύνην (shame) αὐτοῦ (of him). 16 Καὶ (And) συνήγαγεν (he gathered together) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (unto) τὸν (the) τόπον (place) τὸν (-) καλούμενον (called) Ἑβραϊστὶ (in Hebrew) Ἁρ¦μαγεδών (Armageddon). The Seventh Bowl of Wrath 17 Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) ἕβδομος (seventh) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸν (the) ἀέρα (air)· καὶ (and) ἐξῆλθεν (came out) φωνὴ (a voice) μεγάλη (loud) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) ναοῦ (temple) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) λέγουσα (saying)· Γέγονεν (It is done). 18 Καὶ (And) ἐγένοντο (there were) ἀστραπαὶ (flashes of lightning) καὶ (and) φωναὶ (voices) καὶ (and) βρονταί (thunders), καὶ (and) σεισμὸς (an earthquake) ἐγένετο (there was) μέγας (great), οἷος (such as) οὐκ (not) ἐγένετο (had there been) ἀφ’ (since) οὗ (-) ἄνθρωπος (men) ἐγένετο (were) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), τηλικοῦτος (so mighty) σεισμὸς (was the earthquake) οὕτω (so) μέγας (great). 19 καὶ (And) ἐγένετο (was split) ἡ (the) πόλις (city) ἡ (-) μεγάλη (great) εἰς (into) τρία (three) μέρη (parts), καὶ (and) αἱ (the) πόλεις (cities) τῶν (of the) ἐθνῶν (nations) ἔπεσαν (fell). καὶ (And) Βαβυλὼν (Babylon) ἡ (the) μεγάλη (great) ἐμνήσθη (was remembered) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) δοῦναι (to give) αὐτῇ (her) τὸ (the) ποτήριον (cup) τοῦ (of the) οἴνου (wine) τοῦ (of the) θυμοῦ (fury) τῆς (the) ὀργῆς (wrath) αὐτοῦ (of Him). 20 Καὶ (And) πᾶσα (every) νῆσος (island) ἔφυγεν (fled), καὶ (and) ὄρη (mountains) οὐχ (not) εὑρέθησαν (were found). 21 καὶ (And) χάλαζα (a hail) μεγάλη (great) ὡς (about) ταλαντιαία (a talent weight) καταβαίνει (comes down) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) ἐπὶ (upon) τοὺς (the) ἀνθρώπους (men)· καὶ (And) ἐβλασφήμησαν (blasphemed) οἱ (the) ἄνθρωποι (men) τὸν (-) Θεὸν (God) ἐκ (on account of) τῆς (the) πληγῆς (plague) τῆς (of the) χαλάζης (hail), ὅτι (because) μεγάλη (great) ἐστὶν (is) ἡ (the) πληγὴ (plague) αὐτῆς (of it) σφόδρα (exceedingly).
