1Since, then, we are working with God, we plead with you not to accept God's grace in vain.

1Συνεργοῦντες δὲ καὶ παρακαλοῦμεν μὴ εἰς κενὸν τὴν χάριν τοῦ Θεοῦ δέξασθαι ὑμᾶς

2For he says, "At the right time I heard you, and on a day of salvation I helped you." Listen, now is really the "right time"! Now is the "day of salvation"!

2λέγει γάρ Καιρῷ δεκτῷ ἐπήκουσά σου καὶ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ σωτηρίας ἐβοήθησά σοι Ἰδοὺ νῦν καιρὸς εὐπρόσδεκτος ἰδοὺ νῦν ἡμέρα σωτηρίας

3We do not put an obstacle in anyone's way. Otherwise, fault may be found with our ministry.

3Μηδεμίαν ἐν μηδενὶ διδόντες προσκοπήν ἵνα μὴ μωμηθῇ ἡ διακονία

4Instead, in every way we demonstrate that we are God's servants by tremendous endurance in the midst of difficulties, hardships, and calamities;

4ἀλλ’ ἐν παντὶ συνιστάνοντες ἑαυτοὺς ὡς Θεοῦ διάκονοι ἐν ὑπομονῇ πολλῇ ἐν θλίψεσιν ἐν ἀνάγκαις ἐν στενοχωρίαις

5in beatings, imprisonments, and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights, and hunger;

5ἐν πληγαῖς ἐν φυλακαῖς ἐν ἀκαταστασίαις ἐν κόποις ἐν ἀγρυπνίαις ἐν νηστείαις

6with purity, knowledge, patience, and kindness; with the Holy Spirit, genuine love,

6ἐν ἁγνότητι ἐν γνώσει ἐν μακροθυμίᾳ ἐν χρηστότητι ἐν Πνεύματι Ἁγίῳ ἐν ἀγάπῃ ἀνυποκρίτῳ

7truthful speech, and divine power; through the weapons of righteousness in the right and left hands;

7ἐν λόγῳ ἀληθείας ἐν δυνάμει Θεοῦ διὰ τῶν ὅπλων τῆς δικαιοσύνης τῶν δεξιῶν καὶ ἀριστερῶν

8through honor and dishonor; through ill repute and good repute; perceived as deceivers and yet true,

8διὰ δόξης καὶ ἀτιμίας διὰ δυσφημίας καὶ εὐφημίας ὡς πλάνοι καὶ ἀληθεῖς

9as unknown and yet well-known, as dying and yet—as you see—very much alive, as punished and yet not killed,

9ὡς ἀγνοούμενοι καὶ ἐπιγινωσκόμενοι ὡς ἀποθνήσκοντες καὶ ἰδοὺ ζῶμεν ὡς παιδευόμενοι καὶ μὴ θανατούμενοι

10as sorrowful and yet always rejoicing, as poor and yet enriching many, as having nothing and yet possessing everything.

10ὡς λυπούμενοι ἀεὶ δὲ χαίροντες ὡς πτωχοὶ πολλοὺς δὲ πλουτίζοντες ὡς μηδὲν ἔχοντες καὶ πάντα κατέχοντες

11We have spoken frankly to you, Corinthians. Our hearts are wide open.

11Τὸ στόμα ἡμῶν ἀνέῳγεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς Κορίνθιοι ἡ καρδία ἡμῶν πεπλάτυνται

12We have not cut you off, but you have cut off your own feelings toward us.

12οὐ στενοχωρεῖσθε ἐν ἡμῖν στενοχωρεῖσθε δὲ ἐν τοῖς σπλάγχνοις ὑμῶν

13Do us a favor—I ask you as my children—and open wide your hearts.

13τὴν δὲ αὐτὴν ἀντιμισθίαν ὡς τέκνοις λέγω πλατύνθητε καὶ ὑμεῖς

14Stop becoming unevenly yoked with unbelievers. What partnership can righteousness have with lawlessness? What fellowship can light have with darkness?

14Μὴ γίνεσθε ἑτεροζυγοῦντες ἀπίστοις τίς γὰρ μετοχὴ δικαιοσύνῃ καὶ ἀνομίᾳ ἢ τίς κοινωνία φωτὶ πρὸς σκότος

15What harmony exists between the Messiah and Beliar, or what do a believer and an unbeliever have in common?

15τίς δὲ συμφώνησις Χριστοῦ πρὸς Βελιάρ ἢ τίς μερὶς πιστῷ μετὰ ἀπίστου

16What agreement can a temple of God make with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said: "I will live and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people."

16τίς δὲ συνκατάθεσις ναῷ Θεοῦ μετὰ εἰδώλων ἡμεῖς γὰρ ναὸς Θεοῦ ἐσμεν ζῶντος καθὼς εἶπεν ὁ Θεὸς ὅτι Ἐνοικήσω ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐμπεριπατήσω* καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτῶν Θεός καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔσονταί μου λαός

17Therefore, "Get away from them and separate yourselves from them," declares the Lord, "and don't touch anything unclean. Then I will welcome you.

17Διὸ ἐξέλθατε ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν καὶ ἀφορίσθητε λέγει Κύριος καὶ ἀκαθάρτου μὴ ἅπτεσθε κἀγὼ εἰσδέξομαι ὑμᾶς

18I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters," declares the Lord Almighty.

18Καὶ Ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς Πατέρα καὶ ὑμεῖς ἔσεσθέ μοι εἰς υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας λέγει Κύριος Παντοκράτωρ
