1And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain--1Συνεργοῦντες δὲ καὶ παρακαλοῦμεν μὴ εἰς κενὸν τὴν χάριν τοῦ Θεοῦ δέξασθαι ὑμᾶς
2for He says, "AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU." Behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE TIME," behold, now is "THE DAY OF SALVATION "--2λέγει γάρ Καιρῷ δεκτῷ ἐπήκουσά σου καὶ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ σωτηρίας ἐβοήθησά σοι Ἰδοὺ νῦν καιρὸς εὐπρόσδεκτος ἰδοὺ νῦν ἡμέρα σωτηρίας
3giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,3Μηδεμίαν ἐν μηδενὶ διδόντες προσκοπήν ἵνα μὴ μωμηθῇ ἡ διακονία
4but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,4ἀλλ’ ἐν παντὶ συνιστάνοντες ἑαυτοὺς ὡς Θεοῦ διάκονοι ἐν ὑπομονῇ πολλῇ ἐν θλίψεσιν ἐν ἀνάγκαις ἐν στενοχωρίαις
5in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger,5ἐν πληγαῖς ἐν φυλακαῖς ἐν ἀκαταστασίαις ἐν κόποις ἐν ἀγρυπνίαις ἐν νηστείαις
6in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,6ἐν ἁγνότητι ἐν γνώσει ἐν μακροθυμίᾳ ἐν χρηστότητι ἐν Πνεύματι Ἁγίῳ ἐν ἀγάπῃ ἀνυποκρίτῳ
7in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,7ἐν λόγῳ ἀληθείας ἐν δυνάμει Θεοῦ διὰ τῶν ὅπλων τῆς δικαιοσύνης τῶν δεξιῶν καὶ ἀριστερῶν
8by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; regarded as deceivers and yet true;8διὰ δόξης καὶ ἀτιμίας διὰ δυσφημίας καὶ εὐφημίας ὡς πλάνοι καὶ ἀληθεῖς
9as unknown yet well-known, as dying yet behold, we live; as punished yet not put to death,9ὡς ἀγνοούμενοι καὶ ἐπιγινωσκόμενοι ὡς ἀποθνήσκοντες καὶ ἰδοὺ ζῶμεν ὡς παιδευόμενοι καὶ μὴ θανατούμενοι
10as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing yet possessing all things.10ὡς λυπούμενοι ἀεὶ δὲ χαίροντες ὡς πτωχοὶ πολλοὺς δὲ πλουτίζοντες ὡς μηδὲν ἔχοντες καὶ πάντα κατέχοντες
11Our mouth has spoken freely to you, O Corinthians, our heart is opened wide.11Τὸ στόμα ἡμῶν ἀνέῳγεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς Κορίνθιοι ἡ καρδία ἡμῶν πεπλάτυνται
12You are not restrained by us, but you are restrained in your own affections.12οὐ στενοχωρεῖσθε ἐν ἡμῖν στενοχωρεῖσθε δὲ ἐν τοῖς σπλάγχνοις ὑμῶν
13Now in a like exchange-- I speak as to children-- open wide to us also.13τὴν δὲ αὐτὴν ἀντιμισθίαν ὡς τέκνοις λέγω πλατύνθητε καὶ ὑμεῖς
14Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?14Μὴ γίνεσθε ἑτεροζυγοῦντες ἀπίστοις τίς γὰρ μετοχὴ δικαιοσύνῃ καὶ ἀνομίᾳ ἢ τίς κοινωνία φωτὶ πρὸς σκότος
15Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?15τίς δὲ συμφώνησις Χριστοῦ πρὸς Βελιάρ ἢ τίς μερὶς πιστῷ μετὰ ἀπίστου
16Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.16τίς δὲ συνκατάθεσις ναῷ Θεοῦ μετὰ εἰδώλων ἡμεῖς γὰρ ναὸς Θεοῦ ἐσμεν ζῶντος καθὼς εἶπεν ὁ Θεὸς ὅτι Ἐνοικήσω ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐμπεριπατήσω* καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτῶν Θεός καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔσονταί μου λαός
17"Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.17Διὸ ἐξέλθατε ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν καὶ ἀφορίσθητε λέγει Κύριος καὶ ἀκαθάρτου μὴ ἅπτεσθε κἀγὼ εἰσδέξομαι ὑμᾶς
18"And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.18Καὶ Ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς Πατέρα καὶ ὑμεῖς ἔσεσθέ μοι εἰς υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας λέγει Κύριος Παντοκράτωρ
