1
[Do] not
judge,
or
you will be judged.
1
Μὴ
κρίνετε
ἵνα
μὴ
κριθῆτε
2
For
with
the same
judgment
you pronounce,
you will be judged;
and
with
the
measure
you [use],
it will be measured
to you.
2
ἐν
ᾧ
γὰρ
κρίματι
κρίνετε
κριθήσεσθε
καὶ
ἐν
ᾧ
μέτρῳ
μετρεῖτε
μετρηθήσεται
ὑμῖν
3
Why
do you look at
the
speck
in
your
brother’s
eye,
but
fail
to notice
[the] beam
in
your [own]
eye?
3
Τί
δὲ
βλέπεις
τὸ
κάρφος
τὸ
ἐν
τῷ
ὀφθαλμῷ
τοῦ
ἀδελφοῦ
σου
τὴν
δὲ
ἐν
τῷ
σῷ
ὀφθαλμῷ
δοκὸν
οὐ
κατανοεῖς
4
How
can you say
to
your
brother,
‘Let
me take
the
speck
out of
your
eye,’
while
[there is still]
a beam
in
your
[own]
eye?
4
ἢ
πῶς
ἐρεῖς
τῷ
ἀδελφῷ
σου
Ἄφες
ἐκβάλω
τὸ
κάρφος
ἐκ
τοῦ
ὀφθαλμοῦ
σου
καὶ
ἰδοὺ
ἡ
δοκὸς
ἐν
τῷ
ὀφθαλμῷ
σοῦ
5
You hypocrite!
First
take
the
beam
out of
your [own]
eye,
and
then
you will see clearly
to remove
the
speck
from
your
brother’s
eye.
5
ὑποκριτά
ἔκβαλε
πρῶτον
ἐκ
τοῦ
ὀφθαλμοῦ
σοῦ
τὴν
δοκόν
καὶ
τότε
διαβλέψεις
ἐκβαλεῖν
τὸ
κάρφος
ἐκ
τοῦ
ὀφθαλμοῦ
τοῦ
ἀδελφοῦ
σου
6
{Do} not
give
dogs
what is
holy;
{do} not
throw
your
pearls
before
swine.
If you do,
they may trample
them
under
their
feet,
and
then turn [and]
tear you to pieces.
6
Μὴ
δῶτε
τὸ
ἅγιον
τοῖς
κυσίν
μηδὲ
βάλητε
τοὺς
μαργαρίτας
ὑμῶν
ἔμπροσθεν
τῶν
χοίρων
μή‿
ποτε
καταπατήσουσιν
αὐτοὺς
ἐν
τοῖς
ποσὶν
αὐτῶν
καὶ
στραφέντες
ῥήξωσιν
ὑμᾶς
7
Ask
and
it will be given
to you;
seek
and
you will find;
knock
and
[the door] will be opened
to you.
7
Αἰτεῖτε
καὶ
δοθήσεται
ὑμῖν
ζητεῖτε
καὶ
εὑρήσετε
κρούετε
καὶ
ἀνοιγήσεται
ὑμῖν
8
For
everyone
who asks
receives;
he who
seeks
finds;
and
to him who
knocks,
[the door] will be opened.
8
πᾶς
γὰρ
ὁ
αἰτῶν
λαμβάνει
καὶ
ὁ
ζητῶν
εὑρίσκει
καὶ
τῷ
κρούοντι
ἀνοιγήσεται
9
Which
of
you,
if his
son
asks for
bread,
will give
him
a stone?
9
Ἢ
τίς
ἐστιν
ἐξ
ὑμῶν
ἄνθρωπος
ὃν
αἰτήσει
ὁ
υἱὸς
αὐτοῦ
ἄρτον
μὴ
λίθον
ἐπιδώσει
αὐτῷ
10
Or
[if]
he asks for
a fish,
will give
him
a snake?
10
ἢ
καὶ
ἰχθὺν
αἰτήσει
μὴ
ὄφιν
ἐπιδώσει
αὐτῷ
11
So
if
you
who are
evil
know how
to give
good
gifts
to
your
children,
how much
more
{will}
your
Father
in
heaven
give
good things
to those
who ask
Him!
11
εἰ
οὖν
ὑμεῖς
πονηροὶ
ὄντες
οἴδατε
δόματα
ἀγαθὰ
διδόναι
τοῖς
τέκνοις
ὑμῶν
πόσῳ
μᾶλλον
ὁ
Πατὴρ
ὑμῶν
ὁ
ἐν
τοῖς
οὐρανοῖς
δώσει
ἀγαθὰ
τοῖς
αἰτοῦσιν
αὐτόν
12
In everything,
then,
do
to others
as
you would have
them do
to you.
For
this
is [the essence of]
the
Law
and
the
prophets.
12
Πάντα
οὖν
ὅσα
ἐὰν
θέλητε
ἵνα
ποιῶσιν
ὑμῖν
οἱ
ἄνθρωποι
οὕτως
καὶ
ὑμεῖς
ποιεῖτε
αὐτοῖς
οὗτος
γάρ
ἐστιν
ὁ
νόμος
καὶ
οἱ
προφῆται
13
Enter
through
the
narrow
gate.
For
wide [is]
the
gate
and
broad [is]
the
way
that
leads
to
destruction,
and
many
enter
through
it.
13
Εἰσέλθατε
διὰ
τῆς
στενῆς
πύλης
ὅτι
πλατεῖα
ἡ
πύλη
καὶ
εὐρύχωρος
ἡ
ὁδὸς
ἡ
ἀπάγουσα
εἰς
τὴν
ἀπώλειαν
καὶ
πολλοί
εἰσιν
οἱ
εἰσερχόμενοι
δι’
αὐτῆς
14
But
small [is]
the
gate
and
narrow
the
way
that
leads
to
life,
and
only a few
find
it.
14
ὅτι
στενὴ
ἡ
πύλη
καὶ
τεθλιμμένη
ἡ
ὁδὸς
ἡ
ἀπάγουσα
εἰς
τὴν
ζωήν
καὶ
ὀλίγοι
εἰσὶν
οἱ
εὑρίσκοντες
αὐτήν
15
Beware
of
false prophets.
[They]
come
to
you
in
sheep’s
clothing,
but
inwardly
they are
ravenous
wolves.
15
Προσέχετε
ἀπὸ
τῶν
ψευδοπροφητῶν
οἵτινες
ἔρχονται
πρὸς
ὑμᾶς
ἐν
ἐνδύμασιν
προβάτων
ἔσωθεν
δέ
εἰσιν
λύκοι
ἅρπαγες
16
By
their
fruit
you will recognize
them.
Are grapes gathered
from
thornbushes,
or
figs
from
thistles?
16
ἀπὸ
τῶν
καρπῶν
αὐτῶν
ἐπιγνώσεσθε
αὐτούς
μήτι
συλλέγουσιν
ἀπὸ
ἀκανθῶν
σταφυλὰς
ἢ
ἀπὸ
τριβόλων
σῦκα
17
Likewise,
every
good
tree
bears
good
fruit,
but
a bad
tree
bears
bad
fruit.
17
οὕτως
πᾶν
δένδρον
ἀγαθὸν
καρποὺς
καλοὺς
ποιεῖ
τὸ
δὲ
σαπρὸν
δένδρον
καρποὺς
πονηροὺς
ποιεῖ
18
[A] good
tree
cannot
bear
bad
fruit,
[and a] bad
tree
cannot
bear
good
fruit.
18
οὐ
δύναται
δένδρον
ἀγαθὸν
καρποὺς
πονηροὺς
ποιεῖν*
οὐδὲ
δένδρον
σαπρὸν
καρποὺς
καλοὺς
ποιεῖν*
19
Every
tree
that does not bear
good
fruit
is cut down
and
thrown
into
[the] fire.
19
πᾶν
δένδρον
μὴ
ποιοῦν
καρπὸν
καλὸν
ἐκκόπτεται
καὶ
εἰς
πῦρ
βάλλεται
20
So then,
by
their
fruit
you will recognize
them.
20
ἄρα¦γε
ἀπὸ
τῶν
καρπῶν
αὐτῶν
ἐπιγνώσεσθε
αὐτούς
21
Not
everyone
who
says
to Me,
‘Lord,
Lord,’
will enter
the
kingdom
of
heaven,
but only
he who
does
the
will
of My
Father
in
heaven.
21
Οὐ
πᾶς
ὁ
λέγων
μοι
Κύριε
Κύριε
εἰσελεύσεται
εἰς
τὴν
βασιλείαν
τῶν
οὐρανῶν
ἀλλ’
ὁ
ποιῶν
τὸ
θέλημα
τοῦ
Πατρός
μου
τοῦ
ἐν
τοῖς
οὐρανοῖς
22
Many
will say
to Me
on
that
day,
‘Lord,
Lord,
did we not prophesy
in
Your
name,
and
[in]
Your
name
drive out
demons
and
perform
many
miracles?’
22
πολλοὶ
ἐροῦσίν
μοι
ἐν
ἐκείνῃ
τῇ
ἡμέρᾳ
Κύριε
Κύριε
οὐ
τῷ
σῷ
ὀνόματι
ἐπροφητεύσαμεν
καὶ
τῷ
σῷ
ὀνόματι
δαιμόνια
ἐξεβάλομεν
καὶ
τῷ
σῷ
ὀνόματι
δυνάμεις
πολλὰς
ἐποιήσαμεν
23
Then
I will tell them plainly,
‘I never knew
you;
depart
from
Me,
[you]
workers
of lawlessness!’
23
καὶ
τότε
ὁμολογήσω
αὐτοῖς
ὅτι
Οὐδέποτε
ἔγνων
ὑμᾶς
ἀποχωρεῖτε
ἀπ’
ἐμοῦ
οἱ
ἐργαζόμενοι
τὴν
ἀνομίαν
24
Therefore
everyone
who
hears
these
words
of Mine
and
acts on
them
is like
[a] wise
man
who
built
his
house
on
the
rock.
24
Πᾶς
οὖν
ὅστις
ἀκούει
μου
τοὺς

αὐτούς

αὐτοῦ
τὴν
οἰκίαν
ἐπὶ
τὴν
πέτραν
25
The
rain
fell,
the
torrents
raged,
and
the
winds
blew
and
beat against
that
house;
yet
it did not fall,
because
its foundation was
on
the
rock.
25
καὶ
κατέβη
ἡ
βροχὴ
καὶ
ἦλθον
οἱ

καὶ
ἔπνευσαν
οἱ

καὶ

τῇ
οἰκίᾳ
ἐκείνῃ
καὶ
οὐκ
ἔπεσεν
τεθεμελίωτο
γὰρ
ἐπὶ
τὴν
πέτραν
26
But
everyone
who
hears
these
words
of Mine
and
does not act on
them
is like
a foolish
man
who
built
his
house
on
sand.
26
καὶ
πᾶς
ὁ
ἀκούων
μου
τοὺς
λόγους
τούτους
καὶ
μὴ

αὐτοὺς

αὐτοῦ

27
The
rain
fell,
the
torrents
raged,
and
the
winds
blew
and
beat against
that
house,
and
it fell—
and
great
was
its
collapse!”
27
καὶ

καὶ
ἔπνευσαν
οἱ

28
When
Jesus
had finished
saying
these things,
the
crowds
were amazed
at
His
teaching,
28
Καὶ

as [one]
who had

and
not
as
their
