1	When Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. 3	Then some Pharisees came and tested Him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason? They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”
4	Jesus answered, “ Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’	He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female,	And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made <i>them</i> at the beginning made them male and female,	And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created <i>them</i> from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,	“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’
5	and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’	and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?	And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?	and said, ‘FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND HIS MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH’?	and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?
6	So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.	So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”	Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.	So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no person is to separate.”	So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 7	“Why then, they asked, “did Moses order a man to give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?	They said to him, “Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?”	They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?	They said to Him, “Why, then, did Moses command to GIVE <i>HER</i> A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND HER AWAY?”	“Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
8	Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart; but it was not this way from the beginning.	He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.	He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.	He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way.	Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.
9	Now I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman, commits adultery.	And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”	And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except <i>it be</i> for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.	And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”	I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
10	His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.	The disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”	His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with <i>his</i> wife, it is not good to marry.	The disciples said to Him, “If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry.”	The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”
11	“Not everyone can accept this word, He replied, “but only those to whom it has been given.	But he said to them, “Not everyone can receive this saying, but only those to whom it is given.	But he said unto them, All <i>men</i> cannot receive this saying, save <i>they</i> to whom it is given.	But He said to them, “Not all men <i>can</i> accept this statement, but <i>only</i> those to whom it has been given.	Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
12	For there are eunuchs who were born that way; others were made that way by men; and still others live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.	For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.”	For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from <i>their</i> mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive <i>it</i>, let him receive <i>it</i>.	For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by people; and there are <i>also</i> eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who is able to accept <i>this,</i> let him accept <i>it.</i>”	For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
13	Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. And the disciples rebuked those who brought them.	Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people,	Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put <i>his</i> hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.	Then <i>some</i> children were brought to Him so that He would lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.	Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14	But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.	but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”	But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.	But Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”	Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
15	And after He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there.	And he laid his hands on them and went away.	And he laid <i>his</i> hands on them, and departed thence.	After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.	When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
16	Just then a man came up to Jesus and inquired, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?	And behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”	And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?	And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain eternal life?”	Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”
17	“Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.	And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.”	And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? <i>there is</i> none good but one, <i>that is</i>, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.	And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is <i>only</i> One who is good; but if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”	“Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
18	“Which ones? the man asked. Jesus answered, “ ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness,	He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,	He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,	<i>Then</i> he said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT GIVE FALSE TESTIMONY;	“Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “’You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony,
19	honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.’	Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”	Honour thy father and <i>thy</i> mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.	HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”	honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”
20	“ All these I have kept, said the young man. “What do I still lack?	The young man said to him, “All these I have kept. What do I still lack?”	The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?	The young man said to Him, “All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?”	“All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
21	Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.	Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”	Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go <i>and</i> sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come <i>and</i> follow me.	Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete, go <i>and</i> sell your possessions and give to <i>the</i> poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”	Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22	When the young man heard this, he went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth.	When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.	But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.	But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.	When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23	Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.	And Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven.	Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.	And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven.	Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24	Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.	Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”	And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.	And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”	Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
25	When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?	When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”	When his disciples heard <i>it</i>, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?	When the disciples heard <i>this,</i> they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?”	When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26	Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.	But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”	But Jesus beheld <i>them</i>, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. 27	“Look, Peter replied, “we have left everything to follow You. What then will there be for us?	Then Peter said in reply, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?”	Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?	Then Peter responded and said to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?”	Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”
28	Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.	Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.	And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.	And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.	Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29	And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.	And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.	And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.	And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms on account of My name, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.	And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
30	But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.	But many who are first will be last, and the last first.	But many <i>that are</i> first shall be last; and the last <i>shall be</i> first.	But many <i>who are</i> first will be last; and <i>the</i> last, first.	But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
