1Εἴ (If there is) τις (any) οὖν (therefore) παράκλησις (encouragement) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ), εἴ (if) τι (any) παραμύθιον (comfort) ἀγάπης (of love), εἴ (if) τις (any) κοινωνία (fellowship) Πνεύματος (of the Spirit), εἴ (if) τις (any) σπλάγχνα (affections) καὶ (and) οἰκτιρμοί (compassions),
2πληρώσατέ (fulfill) μου (my) τὴν (-) χαρὰν (joy) ἵνα (so that) τὸ (the) αὐτὸ (same) φρονῆτε (you may be minded), τὴν (the) αὐτὴν (same) ἀγάπην (love) ἔχοντες (having), σύμψυχοι (united in soul), τὸ (the) ἓν (same thing) φρονοῦντες (minding),
3μηδὲν (nothing) κατ’ (according to) ἐριθείαν (self-interest) μηδὲ (or) κατὰ (according to) κενοδοξίαν (vain conceit), ἀλλὰ (but) τῇ (-) ταπεινοφροσύνῃ (in humility) ἀλλήλους (one another) ἡγούμενοι (be esteeming) ὑπερέχοντας (surpassing) ἑαυτῶν (themselves),
4μὴ (not) τὰ (the things) ἑαυτῶν (of themselves) ἕκαστοι (each) σκοποῦντες (considering), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) τὰ (the things) ἑτέρων (of others) ἕκαστοι (each).

5Τοῦτο (This) φρονεῖτε (let mind be) ἐν (in) ὑμῖν (you) ὃ (which) καὶ (also) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus was):
6Ὃς (Who) ἐν (in) μορφῇ (the form) Θεοῦ (of God) ὑπάρχων (existing),
οὐχ (not) ἁρπαγμὸν (something to be grasped) ἡγήσατο (considered) τὸ (-) εἶναι (to be) ἴσα (equal) Θεῷ (with God),
7ἀλλὰ (but) ἑαυτὸν (Himself) ἐκένωσεν (emptied),
μορφὴν (the form) δούλου (of a servant) λαβών (having taken),
ἐν (in) ὁμοιώματι (the likeness) ἀνθρώπων (of men) γενόμενος (having been made).
8καὶ (And) σχήματι (in appearance) εὑρεθεὶς (having been found) ὡς (as) ἄνθρωπος (a man),
ἐταπείνωσεν (He humbled) ἑαυτὸν (Himself),
γενόμενος (having become) ὑπήκοος (obedient) μέχρι (unto) θανάτου (death),
θανάτου (the death) δὲ (even) σταυροῦ (of the cross).
9Διὸ (Therefore) καὶ (also) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) αὐτὸν (Him) ὑπερύψωσεν (highly exalted),
καὶ (and) ἐχαρίσατο (granted) αὐτῷ (to Him) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τὸ (-) ὑπὲρ (above) πᾶν (every) ὄνομα (name),
10ἵνα (that) ἐν (at) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) πᾶν (every) γόνυ (knee) κάμψῃ (should bow),

23Τοῦτον (Him) μὲν (indeed) οὖν (therefore) ἐλπίζω (I hope) πέμψαι (to send), ὡς (when) ἂν (-) ἀφίδω (I shall have seen) τὰ (the things) περὶ (concerning) ἐμὲ (me), ἐξαυτῆς (immediately).
24πέποιθα (I am persuaded) δὲ (now) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord) ὅτι (that) καὶ (also) αὐτὸς (I myself) ταχέως (soon) ἐλεύσομαι (I will come).

28Σπουδαιοτέρως (All the more speedily) οὖν (therefore) ἔπεμψα (I have sent) αὐτὸν (him), ἵνα (that) ἰδόντες (having seen) αὐτὸν (him) πάλιν (again), χαρῆτε (you may rejoice), κἀγὼ (and I) ἀλυπότερος (less anxious) ὦ (might be).
29προσδέχεσθε (Receive) οὖν (therefore) αὐτὸν (him) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord) μετὰ (with) πάσης (all) χαρᾶς (joy), καὶ (and) τοὺς (-) τοιούτους (such) ἐντίμους (in honor) ἔχετε (hold),
30ὅτι (because) διὰ (for the sake of) τὸ (the) ἔργον (work) Χριστοῦ (of Christ), μέχρι (unto) θανάτου (death) ἤγγισεν (he came near), παραβολευσάμενος (having disregarded) τῇ (his) ψυχῇ (life) ἵνα (so that) ἀναπληρώσῃ (he might fill up) τὸ (the) ὑμῶν (of you) ὑστέρημα (deficit) τῆς (of) πρός (toward) με (me) λειτουργίας (service).
