[When]
the
day
of Pentecost
came,
[the believers] were
all
together
in
one [place].
1
Καὶ
ἐν
τῷ
συμπληροῦσθαι
τὴν
ἡμέραν
τῆς
Πεντηκοστῆς
ἦσαν
πάντες
ὁμοῦ
ἐπὶ
τὸ
αὐτό
2
Suddenly
a sound
like
a mighty
rushing
wind
came
from
heaven
and
filled
the
whole
house
where
they were
sitting.
2
καὶ
ἐγένετο
ἄφνω
ἐκ
τοῦ
οὐρανοῦ
ἦχος
ὥσπερ
φερομένης
πνοῆς
βιαίας
καὶ
ἐπλήρωσεν
ὅλον
τὸν
οἶκον
οὗ
ἦσαν
καθήμενοι
3
They
saw
tongues
like
flames of a fire
that separated
and
came to rest
on
each
of them.
3
καὶ
ὤφθησαν
αὐτοῖς
διαμεριζόμεναι
γλῶσσαι
ὡσεὶ
πυρός
καὶ
ἐκάθισεν
ἐφ’
ἕνα
ἕκαστον
αὐτῶν
4
And
they {were} all
filled with
[the] Holy
Spirit
and
began
to speak
in other
tongues
as
the
Spirit
enabled
them.
4
καὶ
ἐπλήσθησαν
πάντες
Πνεύματος
Ἁγίου
καὶ
ἤρξαντο
λαλεῖν
ἑτέραις
γλώσσαις
καθὼς
τὸ
Πνεῦμα
ἐδίδου
ἀποφθέγγεσθαι
αὐτοῖς
5
Now
there were
dwelling
in
Jerusalem
God-fearing
Jews
from
every
nation
under
heaven.
5
Ἦσαν
δὲ

κατοικοῦντες
Ἰουδαῖοι
ἄνδρες
εὐλαβεῖς
ἀπὸ
παντὸς
ἔθνους
τῶν
ὑπὸ
τὸν
οὐρανόν
6
And [when]
this
sound
rang out,
a crowd
came together
in bewilderment,
because
each
one
heard
them
speaking
[his]
own
language.
6
γενομένης

7
In wonder
and
amazement,
they asked,
“Are

who
are speaking
Galileans?
7
Ἐξίσταντο

How is it then that

of us

in
his

native
language?

Amazed

they asked
one another,

14
Then
Peter
stood up
with

eleven,
lifted up
his
voice,
and
addressed
[the crowd]:
“Men

Men
of Israel,
listen to
this
message:
Jesus
of
Nazareth
[was] a man
certified
by
God
to
you
by miracles,
wonders,
and
signs,
which
God

He
