1 Καὶ (And) ἐγένετο (it came to pass) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) καθεξῆς (thereafter) καὶ (that) αὐτὸς (He) διώδευεν (was traveling) κατὰ (each) πόλιν (city) καὶ (and) κώμην (village) κηρύσσων (preaching) καὶ (and) εὐαγγελιζόμενος (proclaiming the good news) τὴν (of the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) δώδεκα (Twelve) σὺν (were with) αὐτῷ (Him),
2 καὶ (and) γυναῖκές (women) τινες (certain) αἳ (who) ἦσαν (had been) τεθεραπευμέναι (healed) ἀπὸ (from) πνευμάτων (spirits) πονηρῶν (evil) καὶ (and) ἀσθενειῶν (infirmities), Μαρία (Mary) ἡ (who) καλουμένη (is called) Μαγδαληνή (Magdalene), ἀφ’ (from) ἧς (whom) δαιμόνια (demons) ἑπτὰ (seven) ἐξεληλύθει (had gone out),
3 καὶ (and) Ἰωάννα (Joanna) γυνὴ (wife) Χουζᾶ (of Chuza) ἐπιτρόπου (steward) Ἡρῴδου (of Herod) καὶ (and) Σουσάννα (Susanna) καὶ (and) ἕτεραι (others) πολλαί (many), αἵτινες (who) διηκόνουν (were ministering) αὐτοῖς (to them) ἐκ (out of) τῶν (the) ὑπαρχόντων (means) αὐταῖς (of them).
The Parable of the Sower

4 Συνιόντος (assembling) δὲ (then) ὄχλου (of a crowd) πολλοῦ (great) καὶ (and) τῶν (those) κατὰ (from each) πόλιν (town) ἐπιπορευομένων (coming) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (Him) εἶπεν (He spoke) διὰ (by) παραβολῆς (a parable)·
5 Ἐξῆλθεν (Went out) ὁ (the one) σπείρων (sowing) τοῦ (-) σπεῖραι (to sow) τὸν (the) σπόρον (seed) αὐτοῦ (of him). καὶ (And) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) σπείρειν (sowing) αὐτὸν (of him) ὃ (some) μὲν (indeed) ἔπεσεν (fell) παρὰ (along) τὴν (the) ὁδόν (path), καὶ (and) κατεπατήθη (it was trampled upon), καὶ (and) τὰ (the) πετεινὰ (birds) τοῦ (of the) οὐρανοῦ (sky) κατέφαγεν (devoured) αὐτό (it).
6 Καὶ (And) ἕτερον (other) κατέπεσεν (fell) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) πέτραν (rock), καὶ (and) φυὲν (having sprung up) ἐξηράνθη (it withered) διὰ (because of) τὸ (-) μὴ (it not) ἔχειν (having) ἰκμάδα (moisture).
7 Καὶ (And) ἕτερον (other) ἔπεσεν (fell) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τῶν (of the) ἀκανθῶν (thorns), καὶ (and) συμφυεῖσαι (having sprung up with it) αἱ (the) ἄκανθαι (thorns) ἀπέπνιξαν (choked) αὐτό (it).
8 Καὶ (And) ἕτερον (other) ἔπεσεν (fell) εἰς (upon) τὴν (the) γῆν (soil) τὴν (-) ἀγαθήν (good), καὶ (and) φυὲν (having sprung up) ἐποίησεν (it produced) καρπὸν (fruit) ἑκατονταπλασίονα (a hundredfold).
Ταῦτα (These things) λέγων (saying) ἐφώνει (He was calling out)· Ὁ (The one) ἔχων (having) ὦτα (ears) ἀκούειν (to hear) ἀκουέτω (let him hear).
9 Ἐπηρώτων (Were asking) δὲ (then) αὐτὸν (Him) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him)· Τίς (What) αὕτη (this) εἴη (may be) ἡ (the) παραβολή (parable).
10 Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (He said)· Ὑμῖν (To you⁺) δέδοται (it has been given) γνῶναι (to know) τὰ (the) μυστήρια (mysteries) τῆς (of the) βασιλείας (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), τοῖς (to) δὲ (however) λοιποῖς (the rest) ἐν (it is in) παραβολαῖς (parables), ἵνα (so that)·
Βλέποντες (Seeing) μὴ (not) βλέπωσιν (may they see)
Καὶ (and) ἀκούοντες (hearing) μὴ (not) συνιῶσιν (may they understand).
11 Ἔστιν (Is) δὲ (now) αὕτη (this) ἡ (the) παραβολή (parable). ὁ (The) σπόρος (seed) ἐστὶν (is) ὁ (the) λόγος (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).
12 οἱ (The ones) δὲ (now) παρὰ (along) τὴν (the) ὁδόν (path) εἰσιν (are) οἱ (those) ἀκούσαντες (having heard), εἶτα (then) ἔρχεται (comes) ὁ (the) διάβολος (devil) καὶ (and) αἴρει (takes away) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) καρδίας (heart) αὐτῶν (of them), ἵνα (that) μὴ (not) πιστεύσαντες (having believed) σωθῶσιν (they should be saved).
13 Οἱ (The ones) δὲ (now) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) πέτρας (rock) οἳ (are those who) ὅταν (when) ἀκούσωσιν (they may hear) μετὰ (with) χαρᾶς (joy) δέχονται (receive) τὸν (the) λόγον (word), καὶ (and) οὗτοι (these) ῥίζαν (root) οὐκ (not) ἔχουσιν (have), οἳ (who) πρὸς (for) καιρὸν (a time) πιστεύουσιν (believe) καὶ (and) ἐν (in) καιρῷ (time) πειρασμοῦ (of testing) ἀφίστανται (they fall away).
14 Τὸ (The seed) δὲ (now) εἰς (into) τὰς (the) ἀκάνθας (thorns) πεσόν (having fallen), οὗτοί (these) εἰσιν (are) οἱ (those) ἀκούσαντες (having heard), καὶ (and) ὑπὸ (under) μεριμνῶν (the anxieties) καὶ (and) πλούτου (riches) καὶ (and) ἡδονῶν (pleasures) τοῦ (-) βίου (of life) πορευόμενοι (going along) συμπνίγονται (are choked) καὶ (and) οὐ (not) τελεσφοροῦσιν (they mature).
15 Τὸ (The seed) δὲ (now) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) καλῇ (good) γῇ (soil), οὗτοί (these) εἰσιν (are) οἵτινες (those who) ἐν (in) καρδίᾳ (a heart) καλῇ (beautiful) καὶ (and) ἀγαθῇ (good) ἀκούσαντες (having heard) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) κατέχουσιν (hold it fast) καὶ (and) καρποφοροῦσιν (bear fruit) ἐν (in) ὑπομονῇ (perseverance).

16 Οὐδεὶς (No one) δὲ (now) λύχνον (a lamp) ἅψας (having lit) καλύπτει (covers) αὐτὸν (it) σκεύει (with a vessel) ἢ (or) ὑποκάτω (under) κλίνης (a bed) τίθησιν (puts it), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐπὶ (on) λυχνίας (a lampstand) τίθησιν (he puts it), ἵνα (so that) οἱ (those) εἰσπορευόμενοι (entering) βλέπωσιν (may see) τὸ (the) φῶς (light).
17 οὐ (Nothing) γάρ (for) ἐστιν (is) κρυπτὸν (hidden) ὃ (that) οὐ (not) φανερὸν (manifest) γενήσεται (will become), οὐδὲ (nor) ἀπόκρυφον (hidden away) ὃ (that) οὐ (no) μὴ (not) γνωσθῇ (shall be known) καὶ (and) εἰς (to) φανερὸν (visibility) ἔλθῃ (come).
18 Βλέπετε (Look) οὖν (therefore) πῶς (how) ἀκούετε (you⁺ hear)· ὃς (whoever) ἂν (-) γὰρ (for) ἔχῃ (may have), δοθήσεται (it will be given) αὐτῷ (to him), καὶ (and) ὃς (whoever) ἂν (-) μὴ (not) ἔχῃ (may have), καὶ (even) ὃ (what) δοκεῖ (he thinks) ἔχειν (to have) ἀρθήσεται (will be taken away) ἀπ’ (from) αὐτοῦ (him).

19 Παρεγένετο (Came) δὲ (now) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (Him) ἡ (the) μήτηρ (mother) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἀδελφοὶ (brothers) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) οὐκ (not) ἠδύναντο (they were able) συντυχεῖν (to get) αὐτῷ (to Him) διὰ (because of) τὸν (the) ὄχλον (crowd).

21 Ὁ (-) δὲ (But) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering) εἶπεν (He said) πρὸς (to) αὐτούς (them)· Μήτηρ (Mother) μου (of Me) καὶ (and) ἀδελφοί (brothers) μου (of me) οὗτοί (those) εἰσιν (are) οἱ (who) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἀκούοντες (are hearing) καὶ (and) ποιοῦντες (doing).

Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) διεγερθεὶς (having arisen) ἐπετίμησεν (He rebuked) τῷ (the) ἀνέμῳ (wind) καὶ (and) τῷ (the) κλύδωνι (raging) τοῦ (of the) ὕδατος (water)· καὶ (and) ἐπαύσαντο (they ceased), καὶ (and) ἐγένετο (it became) γαλήνη (calm).
25 Εἶπεν (He said) δὲ (then) αὐτοῖς (to them)· Ποῦ (Where is) ἡ (the) πίστις (faith) ὑμῶν (of you⁺)?
Φοβηθέντες (Having feared) δὲ (then) ἐθαύμασαν (they marveled), λέγοντες (saying) πρὸς (to) ἀλλήλους (one another)· Τίς (Who) ἄρα (then) οὗτός (this) ἐστιν (is), ὅτι (that) καὶ (even) τοῖς (the) ἀνέμοις (winds) ἐπιτάσσει (He commands) καὶ (and) τῷ (the) ὕδατι (water), καὶ (and) ὑπακούουσιν (they obey) αὐτῷ (Him)?

31 καὶ (And) παρεκάλουν (they were imploring) αὐτὸν (Him) ἵνα (that) μὴ (not) ἐπιτάξῃ (He would command) αὐτοῖς (them) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) ἄβυσσον (Abyss) ἀπελθεῖν (to go away).
32 Ἦν (There was) δὲ (now) ἐκεῖ (there) ἀγέλη (a herd) χοίρων (of pigs) ἱκανῶν (many) βοσκομένη (feeding) ἐν (on) τῷ (the) ὄρει (mountain)· καὶ (and) παρεκάλεσαν (they implored) αὐτὸν (Him) ἵνα (that) ἐπιτρέψῃ (He would allow) αὐτοῖς (them) εἰς (into) ἐκείνους (them) εἰσελθεῖν (to enter)· καὶ (and) ἐπέτρεψεν (He allowed) αὐτοῖς (them).

34 Ἰδόντες (Having seen) δὲ (then) οἱ (those) βόσκοντες (feeding) τὸ (what) γεγονὸς (had happened) ἔφυγον (they fled) καὶ (and) ἀπήγγειλαν (reported it) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) καὶ (and) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) ἀγρούς (fields).

36 ἀπήγγειλαν (Related) δὲ (then) αὐτοῖς (to them) οἱ (those) ἰδόντες (having seen) πῶς (how) ἐσώθη (was saved) ὁ (the one) δαιμονισθείς (having been possessed by demons).
37 Καὶ (And) ἠρώτησεν (asked) αὐτὸν (Him) ἅπαν (all) τὸ (the) πλῆθος (multitude) τῆς (of the) περιχώρου (surrounding region) τῶν (of the) Γερασηνῶν (Gerasenes) ἀπελθεῖν (to go away) ἀπ’ (from) αὐτῶν (them), ὅτι (because) φόβῳ (with fear) μεγάλῳ (great) συνείχοντο (they were seized)· αὐτὸς (He) δὲ (now) ἐμβὰς (having entered) εἰς (into) πλοῖον (the boat) ὑπέστρεψεν (turned back).
38 Ἐδεῖτο (Was begging) δὲ (however) αὐτοῦ (Him) ὁ (the) ἀνὴρ (man) ἀφ’ (from) οὗ (whom) ἐξεληλύθει (had gone out) τὰ (the) δαιμόνια (demons) εἶναι (to be) σὺν (with) αὐτῷ (Him)· ἀπέλυσεν (He sent away) δὲ (however) αὐτὸν (him) λέγων (saying)·
39 Ὑπόστρεφε (Return) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) οἶκόν (house) σου (of you), καὶ (and) διηγοῦ (relate) ὅσα (how much) σοι (for you) ἐποίησεν (did) ὁ (-) Θεός (God). καὶ (And) ἀπῆλθεν (he went away) καθ’ (through) ὅλην (whole) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) κηρύσσων (proclaiming) ὅσα (how much) ἐποίησεν (did) αὐτῷ (for him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus).

42 ὅτι (because) θυγάτηρ (daughter) μονογενὴς (an only) ἦν (was) αὐτῷ (to him) ὡς (about) ἐτῶν (years old) δώδεκα (twelve) καὶ (and) αὐτὴ (she) ἀπέθνῃσκεν (was dying).
Ἐν (in) δὲ (then) τῷ (the) ὑπάγειν (going) αὐτὸν (of Him) οἱ (the) ὄχλοι (crowds) συνέπνιγον (were pressing around) αὐτόν (Him).
43 καὶ (And) γυνὴ (a woman) οὖσα (being) ἐν (with) ῥύσει (a flow) αἵματος (of blood) ἀπὸ (for) ἐτῶν (years) δώδεκα (twelve), ἥτις (who) ἰατροῖς (on physicians) προσαναλώσασα (having spent) ὅλον (all) τὸν (her) βίον (living) οὐκ (not) ἴσχυσεν (was able) ἀπ’ (by) οὐδενὸς (no one) θεραπευθῆναι (to be healed),
44 προσελθοῦσα (having come) ὄπισθεν (behind) ἥψατο (touched) τοῦ (the) κρασπέδου (fringe) τοῦ (the) ἱματίου (garment) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) παραχρῆμα (immediately) ἔστη (stopped) ἡ (the) ῥύσις (flow) τοῦ (of the) αἵματος (blood) αὐτῆς (of her).
45 Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (said) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus)· Τίς (Who is) ὁ (the one) ἁψάμενός (having touched) μου (Me)?
Ἀρνουμένων (Denying) δὲ (however) πάντων (all) εἶπεν (said) ὁ (-) Πέτρος (Peter)· Ἐπιστάτα (Master), οἱ (the) ὄχλοι (crowds) συνέχουσίν (surround) σε (You) καὶ (and) ἀποθλίβουσιν (press in).
46 Ὁ (-) δὲ (But) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said)· Ἥψατό (Touched) μού (Me) τις (someone)· ἐγὼ (I) γὰρ (for) ἔγνων (knew) δύναμιν (power) ἐξεληλυθυῖαν (has gone out) ἀπ’ (from) ἐμοῦ (Me).
47 Ἰδοῦσα (Having seen) δὲ (then) ἡ (the) γυνὴ (woman) ὅτι (that) οὐκ (not) ἔλαθεν (she was hidden), τρέμουσα (trembling) ἦλθεν (she came) καὶ (and) προσπεσοῦσα (having fallen down before) αὐτῷ (Him) δι’ (for) ἣν (what) αἰτίαν (cause) ἥψατο (she touched) αὐτοῦ (Him) ἀπήγγειλεν (she declared) ἐνώπιον (before) παντὸς (all) τοῦ (the) λαοῦ (people), καὶ (and) ὡς (how) ἰάθη (she was healed) παραχρῆμα (immediately).
48 Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτῇ (to her)· Θυγάτηρ (Daughter), ἡ (the) πίστις (faith) σου (of you) σέσωκέν (has saved) σε (you)· πορεύου (go) εἰς (in) εἰρήνην (peace).
49 Ἔτι (Still) αὐτοῦ (of Him) λαλοῦντος (speaking) ἔρχεταί (comes) τις (someone) παρὰ (from) τοῦ (the) ἀρχισυναγώγου (synagogue ruler) λέγων (saying) ὅτι (-) Τέθνηκεν (Has died) ἡ (the) θυγάτηρ (daughter) σου (of You), μηκέτι (no longer) σκύλλε (trouble) τὸν (the) Διδάσκαλον (Teacher).
50 Ὁ (-) δὲ (But) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἀκούσας (having heard) ἀπεκρίθη (answered) αὐτῷ (him)· Μὴ (Not) φοβοῦ (fear)· μόνον (only) πίστευσον (believe), καὶ (and) σωθήσεται (she will be saved).
51 Ἐλθὼν (Having come) δὲ (then) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house) οὐκ (not) ἀφῆκεν (He allowed) εἰσελθεῖν (to enter) τινα (anyone) σὺν (with) αὐτῷ (Him) εἰ (if) μὴ (not) Πέτρον (Peter) καὶ (and) Ἰωάννην (John) καὶ (and) Ἰάκωβον (James) καὶ (and) τὸν (the) πατέρα (father) τῆς (of the) παιδὸς (child) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) μητέρα (mother).
52 ἔκλαιον (Were weeping) δὲ (now) πάντες (all) καὶ (and) ἐκόπτοντο (mourning for) αὐτήν (her). ὁ (-) δὲ (But) εἶπεν (He said)· Μὴ (Not) κλαίετε (weep)· οὐ (not) γὰρ (for) ἀπέθανεν (she died) ἀλλὰ (but) καθεύδει (sleeps).
53 Καὶ (And) κατεγέλων (they were laughing at) αὐτοῦ (Him), εἰδότες (knowing) ὅτι (that) ἀπέθανεν (she died).
54 Αὐτὸς (He) δὲ (now) κρατήσας (having taken hold) τῆς (of the) χειρὸς (hand) αὐτῆς (of her) ἐφώνησεν (called out) λέγων (saying) Ἡ (-)· Παῖς (Child), ἔγειρε (arise).
55 καὶ (And) ἐπέστρεψεν (returned) τὸ (the) πνεῦμα (spirit) αὐτῆς (of her), καὶ (and) ἀνέστη (she arose) παραχρῆμα (immediately), καὶ (and) διέταξεν (He directed) αὐτῇ (to her) δοθῆναι (there be given) φαγεῖν (to eat).
56 καὶ (And) ἐξέστησαν (were amazed) οἱ (the) γονεῖς (parents) αὐτῆς (of her)· ὁ (-) δὲ (but) παρήγγειλεν (He instructed) αὐτοῖς (them) μηδενὶ (no one) εἰπεῖν (to tell) τὸ (what) γεγονός (had happened).
