1 Συνκαλεσάμενος (Having called together) δὲ (then) τοὺς (the) δώδεκα (Twelve) ἔδωκεν (He gave) αὐτοῖς (to them) δύναμιν (power) καὶ (and) ἐξουσίαν (authority) ἐπὶ (over) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) δαιμόνια (demons) καὶ (and) νόσους (diseases) θεραπεύειν (to heal)·
2 καὶ (and) ἀπέστειλεν (He sent forth) αὐτοὺς (them) κηρύσσειν (to proclaim) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) ἰᾶσθαι (to heal) τοὺς (the) ἀσθενεῖς (sick),
3 καὶ (and) εἶπεν (He said) πρὸς (to) αὐτούς (them)· Μηδὲν (Nothing) αἴρετε (take) εἰς (for) τὴν (the) ὁδόν (way), μήτε (neither) ῥάβδον (staff) μήτε (nor) πήραν (bag) μήτε (nor) ἄρτον (bread) μήτε (nor) ἀργύριον (money) μήτε (nor) ἀνὰ (apiece) δύο (two) χιτῶνας (tunics) ἔχειν (to have).
4 καὶ (And) εἰς (into) ἣν (whatever) ἂν (-) οἰκίαν (house) εἰσέλθητε (you⁺ may enter), ἐκεῖ (there) μένετε (remain) καὶ (and) ἐκεῖθεν (from there) ἐξέρχεσθε (go out).
5 καὶ (And) ὅσοι (as many as) ἂν (-) μὴ (not) δέχωνται (may receive) ὑμᾶς (you⁺), ἐξερχόμενοι (going out) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) πόλεως (city) ἐκείνης (that) τὸν (the) κονιορτὸν (dust) ἀπὸ (from) τῶν (the) ποδῶν (feet) ὑμῶν (of you⁺) ἀποτινάσσετε (shake off) εἰς (for) μαρτύριον (a testimony) ἐπ’ (against) αὐτούς (them).
6 Ἐξερχόμενοι (Going out) δὲ (then) διήρχοντο (they were passing) κατὰ (through) τὰς (the) κώμας (villages) εὐαγγελιζόμενοι (proclaiming the gospel) καὶ (and) θεραπεύοντες (healing) πανταχοῦ (everywhere).

9 Εἶπεν (Said) δὲ (then) ὁ (-) Ἡρῴδης (Herod)· Ἰωάννην (John) ἐγὼ (I) ἀπεκεφάλισα (beheaded)· τίς (who) δέ (however) ἐστιν (is) οὗτος (this) περὶ (about) οὗ (whom) ἀκούω (I hear) τοιαῦτα (such things)? καὶ (And) ἐζήτει (he was seeking) ἰδεῖν (to see) αὐτόν (Him).

10 Καὶ (And) ὑποστρέψαντες (having returned) οἱ (the) ἀπόστολοι (apostles) διηγήσαντο (related) αὐτῷ (to Him) ὅσα (how much) ἐποίησαν (they had done). Καὶ (And) παραλαβὼν (having taken) αὐτοὺς (them) ὑπεχώρησεν (He withdrew) κατ’ (by) ἰδίαν (Himself) εἰς (to) πόλιν (a city) καλουμένην (called) Βηθσαϊδά (Bethsaida).
11 οἱ (The) δὲ (now) ὄχλοι (crowds) γνόντες (having known it) ἠκολούθησαν (followed) αὐτῷ (Him)· καὶ (and) ἀποδεξάμενος (having received) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐλάλει (He was speaking) αὐτοῖς (to them) περὶ (concerning) τῆς (the) βασιλείας (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) τοὺς (those) χρείαν (need) ἔχοντας (having) θεραπείας (of healing) ἰᾶτο (He was healing).
12 Ἡ (-) δὲ (And) ἡμέρα (the day) ἤρξατο (began) κλίνειν (to decline)· προσελθόντες (having come) δὲ (then) οἱ (the) δώδεκα (Twelve) εἶπαν (said) αὐτῷ (to Him)· Ἀπόλυσον (Dismiss) τὸν (the) ὄχλον (crowd), ἵνα (so that) πορευθέντες (having gone) εἰς (to) τὰς (the) κύκλῳ (surrounding) κώμας (villages) καὶ (and) ἀγροὺς (fields) καταλύσωσιν (they might lodge) καὶ (and) εὕρωσιν (might find) ἐπισιτισμόν (provisions), ὅτι (for) ὧδε (here) ἐν (in) ἐρήμῳ (a wilderness) τόπῳ (place) ἐσμέν (we are).
13 Εἶπεν (He said) δὲ (however) πρὸς (to) αὐτούς (them)· Δότε (Give) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὑμεῖς (you⁺) φαγεῖν (to eat).
Οἱ (-) δὲ (But) εἶπαν (they said)· Οὐκ (Not) εἰσὶν (there are) ἡμῖν (unto us) πλεῖον (more) ἢ (than) ἄρτοι (loaves) πέντε (five) καὶ (and) ἰχθύες (fish) δύο (two), εἰ (if) μήτι (not) πορευθέντες (having gone) ἡμεῖς (we) ἀγοράσωμεν (should buy) εἰς (for) πάντα (all) τὸν (the) λαὸν (people) τοῦτον (this) βρώματα (food).
14 ἦσαν (They were) γὰρ (for) ὡσεὶ (about) ἄνδρες (men) πεντακισχίλιοι (five thousand).
Εἶπεν (He said) δὲ (then) πρὸς (to) τοὺς (the) μαθητὰς (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him)· Κατακλίνατε (Make sit down) αὐτοὺς (them) κλισίας (groups) ὡσεὶ (of about) ἀνὰ (in) πεντήκοντα (fifty).
15 καὶ (And) ἐποίησαν (they did) οὕτως (so) καὶ (and) κατέκλιναν (made sit down) ἅπαντας (all).
16 Λαβὼν (Having taken) δὲ (then) τοὺς (the) πέντε (five) ἄρτους (loaves) καὶ (and) τοὺς (the) δύο (two) ἰχθύας (fish), ἀναβλέψας (having looked up) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) οὐρανὸν (heaven) εὐλόγησεν (He blessed) αὐτοὺς (them) καὶ (and) κατέκλασεν (broke them), καὶ (and) ἐδίδου (He was giving them) τοῖς (to the) μαθηταῖς (disciples) παραθεῖναι (to set before) τῷ (the) ὄχλῳ (crowd).
17 Καὶ (And) ἔφαγον (they ate) καὶ (and) ἐχορτάσθησαν (were satisfied) πάντες (all), καὶ (and) ἤρθη (was taken up) τὸ (that) περισσεῦσαν (having superabounded) αὐτοῖς (to them) κλασμάτων (of fragments) κόφινοι (hand-baskets) δώδεκα (twelve).

45 οἱ (-) δὲ (But) ἠγνόουν (they were not knowing) τὸ (the) ῥῆμα (saying) τοῦτο (this), καὶ (and) ἦν (it was) παρακεκαλυμμένον (veiled) ἀπ’ (from) αὐτῶν (them) ἵνα (so that) μὴ (not) αἴσθωνται (they should understand) αὐτό (it), καὶ (And) ἐφοβοῦντο (they were afraid) ἐρωτῆσαι (to ask) αὐτὸν (Him) περὶ (about) τοῦ (the) ῥήματος (saying) τούτου (this).

49 Ἀποκριθεὶς (Answering) δὲ (now) ὁ (-) Ἰωάννης (John) εἶπεν (said)· Ἐπιστάτα (Master), εἴδομέν (we saw) τινα (someone) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) σου (of You) ἐκβάλλοντα (casting out) δαιμόνια (demons), καὶ (and) ἐκωλύομεν (we were forbidding) αὐτὸν (him), ὅτι (because) οὐκ (not) ἀκολουθεῖ (he follows) μεθ’ (with) ἡμῶν (us).
50 Εἶπεν (Said) δὲ (then) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus)· Μὴ (Not) κωλύετε (forbid)· ὃς (whoever) γὰρ (for) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) καθ’ (against) ὑμῶν (you⁺), ὑπὲρ (for) ὑμῶν (you⁺) ἐστιν (is).

54 Ἰδόντες (Having seen it) δὲ (now) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) Ἰάκωβος (James) καὶ (and) Ἰωάννης (John) εἶπαν (said)· Κύριε (Lord), θέλεις (do You want that) εἴπωμεν (we should call) πῦρ (fire) καταβῆναι (to come down) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) καὶ (and) ἀναλῶσαι (to consume) αὐτούς (them)?
55 Στραφεὶς (Having turned) δὲ (then) ἐπετίμησεν (He rebuked) αὐτοῖς (them).
56 καὶ (And) ἐπορεύθησαν (they went) εἰς (to) ἑτέραν (another) κώμην (village).

60 Εἶπεν (He said) δὲ (then) αὐτῷ (to him)· Ἄφες (Leave) τοὺς (the) νεκροὺς (dead) θάψαι (to bury) τοὺς (-) ἑαυτῶν (their own) νεκρούς (dead), σὺ (you) δὲ (however) ἀπελθὼν (having gone away) διάγγελλε (declare) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).
