In

there was
a

Zechariah,
who belonged to

Elizabeth

a
daughter
of Aaron.

Meanwhile,

bears
this
name.”
61
Καὶ
εἶπαν
πρὸς
αὐτὴν
ὅτι
Οὐδείς
ἐστιν
ἐκ
τῆς
συγγενείας
σου
ὃς
καλεῖται
τῷ
ὀνόματι
τούτῳ
62
[So]
they made signs
to
his
father
[to inquire]
what
he wanted
to name
[the child].
62
ἐνένευον
δὲ
τῷ
πατρὶ
αὐτοῦ
τὸ
τί
ἂν
θέλοι
καλεῖσθαι
αὐτό
63
[Zechariah] asked for
a tablet
[and] wrote,
“His
name
is
John.”
And
they were all astonished.
63
Καὶ
αἰτήσας
πινακίδιον
ἔγραψεν
λέγων
Ἰωάννης
ἐστὶν
ὄνομα
αὐτοῦ
καὶ
ἐθαύμασαν
πάντες
64
Immediately
[Zechariah’s]
mouth
was opened
and
his
tongue [was released],
and
he began to speak,
praising
God.
64
ἀνεῴχθη

65
All
their
neighbors
were filled with
awe,
and
[people] throughout
the
hill country
of Judea
were talking about
these
events.
65
Καὶ
ἐγένετο
ἐπὶ
πάντας

αὐτούς
καὶ
ἐν
ὅλῃ
τῇ
ὀρεινῇ
τῆς
Ἰουδαίας
διελαλεῖτο

τὰ
ῥήματα
ταῦτα
66
And
all
who heard [this]
wondered
in
their
hearts
[and] asked,
“What
then
{will} this
child
become?”
For
the Lord’s
hand
was
with
him.
66
καὶ
ἔθεντο

67
Then
his
father
Zechariah
was filled
with [the] Holy
Spirit
and
prophesied:
67
Καὶ
Ζαχαρίας
ὁ
πατὴρ
αὐτοῦ
ἐπλήσθη

Ἁγίου
καὶ
ἐπροφήτευσεν

68
“Blessed be
